I decided to start my own journal to kind of keep track of whats going on with me so I don't have to keep digging through the TTC thread.

DH and I originally planned on TTC after we had been married a year, so I didn't plan to go off BC (depo provera shot) until this summer. We figured by the time we were ready to start TTC, the shot would have worn off and my cycles would be normal. But once we got married, I wanted a baby so badly, so then DH said we could start trying after we had been married 6 months. Well DH told me a couple weeks ago that he was ready and wanted to start trying for a baby as soon as possible! Problem is, we may end up waiting a long time because of the stupid depo shot. I really, really regret getting the shot. I wasn't really thinking about anything else except that I didn't want to get pregnant at the time and didn't think of my future fertility. I read a lot of horror stories online about the shot but I'm trying to remain optomistic because I believe in the power of positive thinking.

So anyway, AF hasn't returned to normal since being off the shot. I had some spotting in July and then 27 days later I had spotting in August. So I took that as a positive sign that my cycle is trying to get back to normal! I'm praying that next cycle AF will be heavier and closer to normal. And yesterday on CD 10, I am pretty sure I had some CM!!! I haven't checked today. That may be TMI but it was pretty exciting to me! I came running out of the bathroom and told DH. He told me not to get too excited but I can't help it when I see possible signs that my cycle is getting back to normal. I don't know if I will actually ovulate but it'll be interesting to see. I was thinking of trying OPKs this week and seeing what they have to say.

I started taking prenatal vitamins last week also. I am taking New Chapter Organics Perfect Prenatals. I've found that most vitamins I take upset my stomach and had read that some people experienced nausea and upset stomach after taking regular prenatal vitamins. So I did some research and decided to go with New Chapter Organics after reading lots of reviews. They haven't upset my stomach at all which is a HUGE relief. I already deal with sensitive stomach issues and the last thing I need is to feel bad every day! The good thing about these are they are also supposed to help with morning sickness, I guess we'll see when the time comes if that's true! You are supposed to be able to take these on an empty stomach but I haven't tried that yet...I don't like to do anything that might upset my poor tummy!

Lately my boobs are extremely tender and hurt if touched. I don't know what that means. I assume its a side effect of going off the shot. Because I've never had sore boobs so I can't say if its pre-PMS symptoms or what. I've also been getting very mild heartburn in the mornings at work. I haven't really had heartburn since I quit smoking 5 months ago. And its happened before I've taken my prenatal, so I don't think I can blame it on that. So no clue what is causing that either.

Yay! Congrats on starting your journal! I hope that your cycles get back to normal soon. I got the Depo shot before and hated it. It was AF straight heavy for 6 weeks, then no AF for 6 weeks.. and I didn't want to go through that again so I said no more shot for me. *thinking positive thoughts for you!*

Yeah I had AF for almost 3 months straight when I first got on it. Ugh. That sucked. It wasn't heavy the whole time thankfully though! I had been on the shot before so I knew that it would go away eventually, and it did. Never did I think I would be praying for AF to come!

I am walking proof that you CAN get pregnant after being on the depo shot. I took the depo shot for about 1 1/2 years straight. Then was off the shot for about a year and I got pregnant. So dont worry to much about the depo shot. You will be fine. Good luck with your TTC. *BABY DUST*

Thanks, I'm glad that you were able to conceive after depo! Did you guys start trying right away? If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take for your period to get back to normal after going off the shot?

I'm just hoping it doesn't take a year or more for me to get pregnant. I definitely don't want the disappointment of BFN for months on end. I have no patience, whatsoever. I want what I want, and I want it now! LOL

I had some spotting on Aug 15, 27 days after the last spotting. I thought since it seemed like my cycle was trying to get back to normal, then maybe I would have signs that I was ovulating. So about 10 days later I started testing with an OPK to see if I was ovulating and was keeping track of my temps. The OPKs were negative the whole week. It was all kind of stressful so I decided to give up on all that for now. Until I get a real period and see real signs of my cycle returning to 100% normal, I'm not going to temp or use OPK's or try and analyze my CM. Then once my period returns to normal, after a couple of cycles, DH and I can really start TTC and if I want to chart & use OPKs thats fine. But for now, it just seems like I'm getting my hopes up thinking I *might* be ovulating when I haven't even had a real period.

I guess I thought since I wanted it so bad, that I would ovulate right away even though my period wasn't normal.

And this is mainly for me to keep track of whats going on...right now the symtoms I'm having after going off the shot are super tender/sore boobs, still gaining weight (I gained 4 pounds in like 2 weeks!!!! - DH thinks its all in my boobs cuz they look bigger!) and bad headaches. I've had tender boobs for about 3 weeks now, so I've ruled out the possibility of it being a precursor to PMS. I really hoped that going off the shot would help me with my weight but it hasn't so far. Oh and I've been having heartburn as well. The weird thing is I'm having it in the mornings before I even eat anything. Usually IF I have heartburn (which I rarely do), its after I eat. And its not from the prenatals as its been happening before I take them in the mornings. Not sure if it is related to going off the shot, but its something new.

Did you know that when birth control was created it was actually created to get women pregnant? Because as soon as you go off the shot/pill, you are VERY likely to get pregnant..

Trust me I know. Lol

I've heard the opposite - as far as when you get off the shot/pill. It takes months sometimes over a year for the pill/shot to wear off for some people.

i've heard the opposite as well, while some ppl do get preggo's right off the pill, it's the exception not the rule...

as for the shot, that takes even MORE time to wear off b/c ur stopping ur menstruation so ur body really needs to adjust n get the hormones workin again... plus the medication has to leave ur system (it's a 3 month dose n i'm sure some of it builds up in ur system)

i do no one person that said something along those lines happened to her but really she just stopped taking her BCP's w/o telling her husband... she wanted to TTC he didn't... when he was ready, she was magically preggo's like 2-3 weeks after stopping her pills...

Yeah, most women take several months to get their cycles back - if not a year. Of course it's possible to get pregnant right away - it's even possible to get pregnant on the pill - but I think you're the exception, not the rule. ;)

ps danielle, i was just thinking back to my own experience w/depo n while i was young when i went off it.. (maybe 18... 19 TOPS)... i got my period the very next month... so i would take a test juuuust in case...
it's prolly completely normal to not get AF after stopping depo, i'm just thinking when i got my depo shot, they made me take a test at each appointment... so it's not gonna hurt... maybe just go to the dollar store n pick up a couple cheapo ones to use each month until AF gets back to normal... better safe than sorry is my motto...

I agree with the others. It's actually more rare to get pregnant immediately after stopping BCPs. Some other forms of BC are different. For example I had and IUD. And those they will tell you that it is possible to get pregnant right away because it doesn't affect your bodly like the pills and the shots do.

found this online... idk if it helps:

Getting Pregnant after Taking Depo-Provera

If you were using Depo-Provera it may take longer for your cycles to return to normal. Keep in mind that Depo-Provera is designed to be a long-lasting form of birth control. Even though it is intended to help you avoid pregnancy for up to three months, it may actually prevent pregnancy longer. Depo-Provera is a synthetic hormone similar to progesterone. It is designed to keep your body from ovulating, but it also keeps your cervical mucous thick and thins the lining of your uterus to prevent implantation. Because Depo tends to keep the lining of the uterus thin, this is one of the reasons women generally have lighter periods while taking it. In order to get pregnant though, you need to not only be ovulating but you also need to be producing fertile cervical mucous and a thick uterine lining after you ovulate. The reason Depo-Provera is so long lasting is because of the way it works. The levels of DMPA (the synthetic hormone in Depo-Provera) gradually increase over a three week period, at which time they reach their peak levels. After three weeks the DMPA levels begin to decrease exponentially. It may take as long as 200 days before DMPA is completely at of your bloodstream. It may take up to a year after discontinuing Depo-Provera before your menstrual cycles return to normal and it may take as long as two years to get pregnant after stopping Depo-Provera.http://www.justmommies.com/articles/getting-pregnant-after-birth-control.shtml

Well shoot! 2 years?!? I will be so depressed if it takes takes more than a year! Even a year seems like a really long wait.

That explains the spotting I've had...its my period but my thin uterine lining has nothing to shed so thats why its here and gone in a blink of an eye.

Well it's been about 2 1/2 months since going off the shot. Still no AF. My hormones are going crazy. My boobs hurt soooooo bad. It sucks! It hurts to sleep with no bra on but sleeping with a bra is too uncomfortable. It hurts to touch them, they hurt even when not touched, especially if I'm not wearing a bra. Grrrr..... Plus I've been super emotional and that is annoying too.

Why can't AF just show up? And this stupid boobage problem needs to go away - pronto! It'd one thing if I was pregnant, but to have to have pregnancy symptoms and no pregnancy...that just sucks. I hate depo provera!!!

Hmm....Gwen...maybe you're onto something! I have no plans to wear a bikini any time soon, but maybe I should buy some white pants. She loves to show up when I'm unprepared!

Yes, I was just thinking that. Danielle cleaned her house for AF and had ice cream all ready for her and everything. She way way too prepared for company to show up. Maybe she needs to leave things a little cluttered, wear white pants with a thong and make plans with friends where wearing a bikini is a must, and whatever you do, don't bring a tampon! LOL

So one of my friends (she was a bridesmaid in my wedding) called us up tonight to let us know they are having a baby. I am happy for them but I can't help but feel jealous. I was jealous when they got engaged and married before me. Eventually I got what I wanted, but its hard watching everyone else get what they want while I have to wait. But then again, they've been trying for over 2 years (they started trying before they got married), so I'm happy they finally got what they wanted. I hope I don't sound like a horrible person admitting I'm jealous, but I just suck at being patient.

It'd be nice if I got pregnant soon because I have 2 girlfriends that are pregnant and it'd be SO fun to go through this experience with them and have our kids grow up together.

I think we all feel that way about things at times - it's something you feel guilty about, the other person never knows about, and, of course, you feel happy FOR the person...but how can you not reflect upon your own life when you hear news like that from a friend?

I know when my BFF called to tell me that she and her boyfriend (and he was not even a fiance) that she had only known a year were going to go to Vegas the following weekend (a year to the weekend before my Vegas nuptials were planned for - so our anniversaries are only like a day apart) to get married, I was a tad bit bitter. Sure, I was happy for her - she'd been through a lot and she deserved happiness - but darnit if DH and I hadn't been together like 3 years longer than they had and Vegas was our place! She'll never know that, and I was more happy for her than I was sad/bitter/cranky/jealous, but that twinge of all those emotions hit me anyway. I felt guilty for feeling it, but they were my emotions and I was entitled to them. And you are too! You're trying to reach that goal too - of course you're happy for your friend, but when you want something so bad you can't help but feel a little jealous!

(If it makes you feel any better your baby will end up being way cuter than hers...lol  And then she'll be way happy for you but just a little bit jealous at the same time...:winktongue:)

Danielle9608

Danielle don't feel bad. I am jealous all the time! I don't think jealousy is always a bad thing either. It's not wrong to want the same thing as your friend. The key though, is still being happy for the person you are jealous of, which I know you are. Hang in there hun, soon enough you'll be the one making phone calls to tell people the news!

Thanks girls, I'm glad to know it's not just me. It'll be fun having another person to talk to about babies and pregnancy and when we finally do have a baby, it'll be nice to have friends with kids who are about the same age (assuming it doesn't take us years to conceive). I'm older than DH so most of the people I know have kids that are 5+ years old, but people I know through DH are just now starting families.

I had a weird and scary dream last night. I was having really bad cramps in my dream and if I moved a certain way I could feel something hard & painful popping out of my lower abdomen....it's hard to describe. So DH took me to the doctor and the only person that sees me is an old friend of mine who is a nurse in the dream. In real life she's a CNA. She runs some tests and tells me that I'm pregnant! We were SO freaking excited but I could tell she was holding something back and I was getting upset that my friend wouldn't let me see a doctor. Finally I found out somehow that I was most likely having a miscarriage and she didn't want to upset me. So I just lay there trying to stay as still as possible so I didn't make the hard thing pop out and I was convinced if I could keep that hard thing & the pain under control, then the baby would be alright. I ended up waking up at that point, and I don't know if I was imagining it, but I felt really crampy. So either the cramps were real and brought on the dream or I imagined the cramps when I woke up. Or...the dream brought on the cramps. lI don't know which. If they are real, I hope they are AF cramps!!!

The dream was just scary and sad, and I know when I get pregnant I'm going to be so paranoid about miscarriage because I know so many people who have had them, plus I'm older and who knows what the Evil Depo has done to me. DH says that just means that I'll have better odds of not having one because so many others around me have. Either way, I'll be nervous until I get through my first trimester!

Really? I didn't know that, I thought it was the other way around. Awesome!!!!!

i hate to be the bearer... but it is the other way round... i.e. the whole point of birth control is that it STOPS you from ovulating but you still get ur period every month (or less but that's depending on the dosage of hormones in ur BC method) so you can get your period and NOT ovulate...

Brian's Bride
10-04-2009, 09:53 PM
Yeah, there's this thing called anovulation, which means you get your period without ovulating. This can happen even if you're not on BCP. I think the only way to know if you ovulate is to take OPKs and/or track your body temps every morning.

Goin2thechapel
10-05-2009, 07:56 AM
Well, I was actually talking more about natural cycles than BCP cycles....
You need to ovulate to get a period. In some cases there are Annovulatory cycles which produce bleeding without known ovulation. But typically you need to ovulate an egg and if it isn't fertilized then 12-16 days later you can expect a menstrual period.

Well hopefully I ovulated and will do so again this cycle! :yesnod: This is the first real AF I've had in a looong time. The whole cramp thing is pretty new to me - I rarely had to deal with cramps in the past. At least my boobs aren't hurting as bad anymore. I thought the sore boob thing would never end!! I went out and bought sports bras that were just a little too big for me to sleep in at night. That way they weren't too snug, but they held the girls up so they didn't hurt. And then AF comes the next day and I don't need them anymore. I guess that's just how she works.

I just hope that everything is functioning properly so I have an actual shot at getting pregnant this month. I probably should temp but I never can remember until after I've already gotten out of bed in the morning. So I might just try OPKs. I just don't know how long my cycle is so I wouldn't have a clue when to start testing.

I'm so happy that AF came to visit, so why is she being sooo mean to me?! She was welcomed with open arms and here she is causing me pain and discomfort. Oh well, I am just glad she is here! I told DH that we need to get pregnant this month so I don't have to deal with AF anymore. LOL But if we don't get pregnant well then she better come back next month right on time so we can try again. It's a love hate relationship, thats for sure!
I have been taking prenatal vitamins and I highly recommend the brand I got! It's called New Chapter Organics Perfect Prenatal. I found it cheapest through a store on amazon. I have the worst sensitive stomach and can't handle regular vitamins from the drugstore. I can take these vitamins on an empty stomach and be fine! They are a little more expensive, but its worth it to me to not have an upset stomach. I have to take them 3 times a day though, and that part isn't the best but I'm getting the hang of it. About this time of year I usually come down with a cold but so far so good and everyone around me at work has been sick! I just wanted to mention them in case someone was looking for a good prenatal that doesn't make them feel like ****. I usually can't even take antibiotics without throwing up so I'm impressed that I not only can keep these down, but I don't have any nausea with them.

I do have a question...when do you guys think I start testing with OPKs? Since this is my first period since getting off the shot, I have no idea how long or short my cycles are.

I would start at CD 9 or 10 just incase you are a early ovulator.

Thanks ladies. Ms. Flo has left the building! It was nice she showed up but I was ready for her to leave! I had read that some people go off the shot and end up bleeding for 3 months after the shot. I'm so thankful AF was so normal. And I feel it is such a blessing to have AF return after only 2 1/2 months of being off the shot. Some people don't get it until they've been off of it for a year. I just pray everything else is working properly!

I'm excited to officially start trying for a baby this month! We were "trying" before but, I didn't feel like we were trying since I hadn't had a regular period yet and I felt there there was no chance I would get pregnant. It looks like next week I'll get to OPK, so that'll be something to look forward to! :)

Since this is my first month offically trying, I'm so excited for the upcoming week! I can't wait to see if I actually ovulate! DH is really excited too. Part of me knows I shouldn't get my hopes up since I've just come off the depo shot and it can take a year to get pregnant after the shot but I can't help but get excited!

I'm starting to get a little nervous about pregnancy too. I am scared of being really sick with morning sickness. I know it affects everyone differently but I have a really sensitive stomach and everything else seems to upset my stomach, so I assume getting pregnant will too! I'm scared I'll miss too much work and lose my job & health insurance.

Plus there's just so much to deal with while being pregnant. Some women love being pregnant and while I hope I'm one of those women, I seriously doubt it! LOL I just wonder how I'm going to deal with 9 months of not feeling normal. That's not to say I don't want it! I'm just scared. I want to experience the beautiful parts of pregnancy like the baby kicking, hearing the heartbeat, and of course finally meeting our baby. But I'm just really scared of the gross/smelly :parp:/uncomfortable/painful parts!! I usually read as much as I can about conceiving but last night I started reading about the actual pregnancy & labor and stuff and it freaked me out a bit. :boggle:

I know in the end it's all worth it but I still worry.

I am right there with ya!!! I think reading the pregnancy books actually freaked me out more! I have had so many friends and co-workers go through pregnancy and as far as I knew they looked and felt (and smelled - lol!) fine...but I am afraid that being pregnant will be soooo uncomfortable. And labor? well, I just don't think about that part.

I feel the same way and I've been pregnant before. It freaks me out because every pregnancy is different and it's been 15 years since the last one. I'm worried the pregnancy weight is going to stay around and thy I'm going to get stretch marks and that I'm going to get morning sickness this time...

LOL This thread has taken a funny road! All I can say is don't worry about how you will feel/be/smell when you get pregnant! Don't worry now anyway! That will take all the fun out of trying and just put too much stress on the situation as it is.

Plus, you can never really tell what you're going to feel like. The best approach is just to take every day as it comes and you'll find out soon enough what you'll be like when you're pregnant!

Obviously, I understand the concerns and worries - I was there too! But some of the things that I've gone through so far while preggo, I'm glad I didn't know it was coming! I might have never been so up for this!!!!

I know, its pointless to worry about it now. And just because I'm prone to upset stomach doesn't mean I'm doomed to have awful morning sickness. I'm just a worrier like that though.

My friend told me I should start OPK testing on Saturday, so I tested once on Saturday and twice yesterday...(all negative) and now I'm out of tests! Yikes! I really hope my order shows up today. If not, I'll have to go and buy some, which I hate to do since my order should be coming any day now. But if I don't test every day I could miss the window and not even know it. The OPKs showed up yesterday. I totally forgot that Monday was a holiday so that's why they didn't show up. So I didn't test on Monday...hopefully I didn't miss the surge!

I got a faint line on the OPK yesterday...it was faint but not really faint. It was darker than the faint lines I'm used to, but then again, this is my frist time using this brand of tests. So later I decided to take another one to see if there was any difference. I peed in the cup (yuck, I like midstream ones way better!) and set the cup on the counter and finished up my business. When I went to stand up off the toilet, my elbow bumped the cup and it spilled my pee all over the floor! OOPS!! I wasn't sure how late I should test so I didn't test again last night so I am anxious to test when I get off work today. :) I'll be much more careful this time!

I really have to force myself to temp, but I do really thing that it will give me way more insight into my cycle. Plus one good thing about temping is that you can confirm ovulation (given that you aren't taking fertility drugs and don't have weird hormone things going on). It's not as reliable, but it is possible to adjust temps even in the case you don't take it at the exact same time every morning.

I guess I should have been temping just to double check when I actually ovulated. I've had this slight tugging feeling...like a very dull ache on my left side for the past 2 days. I got a positive OPK on CD14 and just assumed I O'd over the weekend and stopped testing with OPKs once I got a couple of negatives in a row. I consider today as 4 DPO (or CD19). And what I'm feeling now, I guess it could be mittelschmerz but the positive OPK was almost a week ago and I had egg white CM around that time as well. Its not painful or uncomfortable, its just something I feel. And my boobs have been sore & tender since CD 15 (the day I figure I O'd). Maybe my system is still wacky from getting off the shot?

We pretty much BD every day so if the OPK was wrong, we probably won't miss our opportunity. Although we didn't BD last night! It'll be interesting (if we don't get a BFP this time around) to see if this happens again next month on the opposite side.

uptowngirl

It sounds like temping really is the best way to tell what is going on. If you are BDing everyday then even if you missed catching O with your tests you are covered right?!

Heywie
10-21-2009, 12:34 PM
I'd say you may be experiencing implantation, but I think it's too early. From your symptoms, it sounds like you did ovulate when you thought, but I wonder if the other symptoms (dull cramping/sore boobs) could be from your shot.

I experienced dull pelvic pain at about 11 DPO and it continued on for a few days. I assumed it was my period coming, but it was really that I was preggo!

I hope this is something similar for you, but I know that shot really screws up your cycle!

savepaws
10-21-2009, 01:43 PM
Yeah I really have no clue. It could be just about anything. I'm so hopeful that this is our lucky month and hoping it is some sort of symptom that I'm gonna get a BFP, but as hopeful as I am, I know how unlikely it is for me to get pregnant since I recently went off the shot and this is my first official cycle since coming off the shot. So I will just wait and see what happens. And either way, we are covered BD-wise since we are pretty active in that department.

It's weird how I want to know about every little thing I feel or experience; I've never paid attention to my body or my cycles before in my life! I've never even tracked AF before! I sort of knew when to expect her but I never kept track of the days so that I could know exactly. I just made sure to carry a tampon in my purse around the time I expected her. And now I am trying to learn everything about my cycle so I can know what is going on down there! :lafhard: Never thought I'd care so much about periods & ovulating.
Over the weekend, even though I was sick, I was so excited to be possibly ovulating. Who knew that ovulation would be so exciting. Hehe!

savepaws
10-26-2009, 11:35 AM
The wait is killing me! I want to test right now!!! I don't know when AF will show up but if my cycle is 28 days, AF should arrive Friday or Saturday, but since I've only had one AF since getting off the shot, I don't know when she's coming.

And if I take a HPT, I have to time it just right so that I can not see DH all day, in case I get a positive. If I get a BFP, then I want to give him the fortune cookie but I can't just run out of the bathroom and hand him a fortune cookie. I also can't just sit there with him and keep the news to myself until AFTER dinner! Even if he works til 5, and we eat dinner right away, it will be so hard to just act normal through dinner!

I've had some things going on since after ovulation but I'm trying not to read too much into everything because its not very likely that I'm pregnant so soon after going off the shot, plus from what I've read, people don't start feeling symtoms this early (9 DPO). So I guess I keep waiting.

Today is 10 DPO.

Last night my boobs hurt so bad. Normally they are tender and just feel heavy and they don't really hurt if I keep them close to my body. But last night no matter how close they were to my body, I felt like sharp shooting pains through them. It is different than the pains I normally experience. I am feeling it off and on this morning, especially in the right one. I know some people get sore boobs before AF comes but I've never experienced that in my life. I know it doesn't mean I'm pregnant though. I did have sore boobs for 2 months after getting off the depo shot and they disappeared right before AF showed up. I've never felt this shooting pain through them before though.

I have also experienced slight waves of nausea off and on. Every time its happened my stomach was empty. It's very slight but its enough to notice and it goes about as quick as it comes. Yesterday morning it stuck around a little longer so I took my prenatal and ate a little cheese and felt fine afterwards. My prenatal has ginger in it and is supposed to help with nausea. I've been feeling this since Saturday (7 DPO).

I've also tasted blood or a metally taste in my mouth about 1-2 times a day.

I'm trying not to read too much into everything that I'm feeling since you technically aren't supposed to really feel pregnancy symptoms this soon, but its hard not to get my hopes up.

Some people do feel symptoms early on. I did with this second pregnancy. It was probably around 8DPO or so that I started to have symptoms. I had a dream last night that I took a pregnancy test and it was positive, so when I woke up, I couldn't hold myself back any longer. I took one of the cheap pregnancy tests that came with my OPK's this morning. :bfn: It was negative. Kinda bummed. I thought my dream meant something. On 7 DPO I had a dream that I had implantation bleeding and I could actually feel it and I just "knew" it was happening. Why can't it be that simple in real life for everyone? LOL I know its still early and I could get a positive, but basically I'm just trying to prepare myself mentally for this not to be THE month. Today is 12 DPO.

I originally planned on taking a Answer brand HPT today since it says to take 4 days before your expected period, so I went ahead and did that this morning. Another negative. :bfn: I guess I'll just try to wait and see if AF shows up this weekend.

Last night I was thawing out ground beef in the microwave so we could have tacos for dinner. Just the thought of tacos made me nauseous so I told DH that I wasn't cooking and we were going to go out to eat. I wanted a baked potato or something that wasn't greasy. I ended up getting a few chicken strips and a cup of cheese soup and DH's brother wanted to try my chicken. He took a bite and says it tastes like fish. So I smelled it...bad idea! I thought I was going to vomit from the smell. I completely lost my appetite. About 10 minutes later, I felt fine.

Today I have terrible cramping on my left side. It feels like a side ache...like if you go swimming or running too soon after eating. If AF is gonna come, I hope she comes soon so I can stop wondering.

Today is my lucky Friday the 13th, 13 DPO that is!!!

I wasn't planning on taking a test this morning because I didn't want to be disappointed again. But I didn't get up to pee in the middle of the night like I normally do and I thought I better take a test while my urine was really concentrated. I am SO glad I did! Because there was a faint line!! A :bfp: !!!!

It's faint, but no mistaking it...I know I'm not imagining it! I took it to work with me so I could look at it in different light! I keep looking at it and admiring it. :)

So I wonder how long it'll take for it to show up darker on the tests. I want to tell DH ASAP but he might not believe a faint line but he also wouldn't want me to keep this from him!

Oh and it turns out the weird feeling I've been having is bloatedness...I guess. I've never felt bloated in my life and never understood what people meant when they said they were bloated. Now I know! It's pretty uncomfortable! :bbconfused:

I couldn't believe it! It popped up within the first minute of waiting. The test I took this morning was SO faint, I was afraid it wouldn't be strong enough for this test to pick up but I guess it had no problem! I was trying to figure out what to do while I wait and I looked over and there it was staring me in the face. I jumped up and down for a little bit and when I composed myself I called DH and asked when he'd be home. He's suspects that I'm up to something because I kept like drilling him for a time when he'd be home. He asked if I had a guy at the house or if I had something naughty waiting for him. I should have went along with the 2nd one! There's no way I can withhold this information til dinner so I don't know how to make the fortune cookie idea work. We don't usually open up fortune cookies in the middle of the day. Well I do, but he doesn't. LOL

So I'll probably just tell him to open a fortune cookie with me and when he asks why, I will say because I need some good news after the day I had. Maybe that will work. I'll let you girls know how it goes when I can.

I can't believe I'm :preggo: !!! I'm so excited I can't even eat lunch!

Oh my gosh - that picture gave me chills!!!
YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!

I think your idea about having him open a fortune with you because of a bad day is a great idea - it could throw him off from you asking when he was going to be home too. :) Let us know how it goes!! (or video tape it for us! Haha!)

Yesterday afternoon I had to sit here and wait for DH to get home. He said it'd take him 15 minutes to run and do something and it turned out being like 45 minutes to an hour. I ended up getting so nervous, I couldn't even eat lunch. I finally forced myself to eat an apple. Finally DH showed up and he sat on the couch. I threw a fortune cookie to him and said "lets have a fortune cookie" and DH said "are you pregnant?" Aaaahhhhh!! I just smiled and said, lets just open our fortunes and he's like "you're pregnant". I told him I had a bad day and just wanted a good fortune, all while I had this big huge grin on my face. Finally I was like "quit ruining it and open your fortune!!!" LOL It did NOT go as planned.

I came to the conclusion that he just doesn't like surprises because when someone does something to try and surprise him, he tries to guess it instead of just going along with it. Anyway, he felt kind of bad for ruining the surprise but he loved the effort I made. He gave me a big hug and was just pretty much in shock the rest of the night. I wish I could have pulled it off and gave him a fortune cookie at dinner time but I was way too excited and there's no way I could have kept it to myself. He got home around 2 or 3 pm and we eat at like 5:30. I would have exploded by then!

Last night he kept saying things like "wow, I'm gonna be a dad!". "Woah, we're gonna be parents" and he even said goodnight to the baby. I don't think he believed it at first because I had to assure him that faint lines (on the other tests) counted as BFP.

Ah well, it didn't go exactly as planned, but the thought was there, and you all still got to have a really great moment.

We were going to wait til Christmas until we realized there is no way DH can get away from work to go to doctor appointments without telling his dad the truth, since he works for his dad. :bbconfused: We can't come up with any good "white lies" that his dad would let him off work for. So we might just have to tell his mom & dad early.

What a great story! It is great that you waited that long to tell him! It will be something that you guys will remember FOREVER!
