Hi all! This is my first time posting.
I am getting married in Hawaii in Sept 2010 at the Kahala Resort on Oahu.
Because it will be an outdoor wedding, there are noise restrictions that apply.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good acoustic band, with not too many members, and not too expensive? The acoustic issue is the main thing because I am not allowed any sort of amplification.
Thanks!

Perhaps you could speak to the people at the resort. I'm sure they do weddings often and would be able to recommend something for you - I'm sure there are bands/DJ's that they work with frequently.
I had a destination wedding in Vegas and we had our reception coordinator help us pick out vendors (and a DJ) since we were obviously unfamiliar with people in the area.
Best of luck to you - sounds like a lovely wedding! And welcome to OW! :bbmrgreen:

Hello,
I think it's great that you have decided on getting married on the beach! Excellent idea and personally my dream (it won't appear cause we have decided on a budget wedding)!
And when it comes to music it doesn't have to be loud to make it an interesting and fun event. I think that you will find some local band there.

Make sure to use local drummers, it makes the whole thing feel so authentic!

I'm a bit excited, I've found a trio that aren't too expensive and they will play bass, guitar and ukelele, plus vocals.
I'm picturing that typical Hawaiian music, like the island version of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'.

Oh man, congrats on the engagement!! We were going to get married in Hawaii until we found out my elders can't fly out there. No advice on a band (we were looking into a DJ) but if you want a reference to a great photographer I'd suggest mine!! We wanted him for our wedding in Hawaii, however now we're getting married back here in California and lucky me. DF says we can STILL get him!! He's the best ever!!

You've got a keeper! :)
Thank you so much but I've already booked my photographer. Who is yours? I'm sure I checked him out, I had contact with about 70 of them!

Oh wow! That's so great!
He was one of my favourites too!
We booked Chrissie Lambert. She was one of the first ones we looked at and was my favourite from the start. Plus, she's a sweetheart.
Post some of your pics when you get them!
