How much time off work are you going to take for your wedding?

We were just discussing time off for weddings. Please let us know how much time before and after your wedding you're going to be taking off from work. And why?

I took off Thursday and Friday before my Saturday wedding. I had no intentions of taking off Thursday, but my coworkers made me. I had the following week off for my honeymoon. Then I went back to work for 2 half days and was done for the summer.

Well I am getting married on 09/09/06 so I will be taking off 09/07/2006 - 09/18/2006...a few months ago ShawnaBride gave us advice to take off a few days before the wedding because you won't be able to concentrate on anything...so that is what I am going to do!!

I'm only taking the 20th and then the 21st off for my wedding. I will be going back to work on the 24th and then for my vacation, I will be leaving on August 4 and not returning to work until the 16th.

Well, if my scheduel doesn't change, I will have my regualer days off October 1-3. Then I'm off Wednesday-Saturday since my MOH will be in from Wisconsin. The following week I requested off Sun-Sat for the honeymoon. Then my regular scheduled days off again of Sun-Tues. I end up lucky with over 2 full weeks off! But if my schedule changes, I know I at least have Wed-Sat...1 and a half weeks.

I had originally wanted to take the day off before mine, but my boss needed me to come in for half a day. I ended up having to work the entire day. :bbconfused: This really hurt me on my wedding day (May 13th) when I got stuck with all the set up since Brian worked on our wedding day and my help bailed. We did take the 15th-17th off to go to a little B & B and were both back to work on Thursday.

I am graduating on Dec. 16. I am going to get a part time job in Aug/Sept. I plan on quiting that part time job the week before graduation. Hopefully I will be hired at a "real" job. After the wedding on December 30th we are going to Jamaica. We will be back on the 4th, so hopefully I will start working on Monday, January 8th 2007! So that means I would have about 4 weeks off.

This is bad but I am not sure what I am looking forward to more ... my wedding or the honeymoon because Hugh and I are in desperate need of some rest!

We won't be painting any orders from August 15 - September 11th and we will be off work from Aug 22 - Sept 11.

It's starting to sink in that we have much still to do!

I took off the two days before my wedding and had off 9 days after my wedding.
I pretty much took the 2 days prior just to get some last minute things done and get some rest and then out of the last 9 days we were in Mexico for 5 of them and St. Louis for 3 of them and then the last day was recouping from the honeymoon!

Well since i finished school on April 28th and only found out about my new job the week prior to the wedding i had a ton of time off. I started working on June 19th. It was great!

Mark took the Thursday night before the wedding off through to the following Tuesday.

I am taking off Thursday 7/28 and Mon/Tue 7/31 & 8/1 the (wedding is on the 29th). We are just going to Gatlinburg for a short honeymoon and then in September (1-10...my birthday is the 2nd)we will be going to Cocoa Beach for a week...We wanted to do it this way so that all the kids will be back in school and we can go to Disneyworld, and lay on the beach hopefully, without some spoiled child running over the top of us. Now don't get me wrong we love kids and plan on having 2-3 of our own (and soon) but this is our honeymoon and if we want it that way then that way it will be!

Luckily for me, I am a teacher and therefore on summer break. It's making it a lot easier for me to plan everything and make sure it's all going well. My fiance though is only taking the 4th off, and then the following week after the wedding for our honeymoon. Then he's back to work while I get a little bit longer to relax before going back.

I tried to take off the day before my wedding, but my boss is a jerk, so he said no. I only got the monday after the wedding. Another reason I couldn't take off is because I work in customer service,a nd there is only two of us, so it won't work. That is another reason we are staying in Missouri.
Another thing that sucks is we don't get the hall till 8a.m. but the wedding is at 4:30. my hair appt. is at 10:30. We have to get all decorating done in this time. Any suggestions ladies??? Please???

I am taking the thuresday and the friday off for our saterday wedding, as well as the monday tuesday of the following week. I would be taking more time off, but I will be going to school, so I can't. My fiance is taking the same days off of work. My mom is taking the week befor and the week after off. But that is because she is coming in from out of town, and I am REALLY GOING TO NEED HER!!! but no one else is taking any time off. Also i am very organized, i don't think I am going to need any more time than that, and the other reason I am taking the monday tuesday off, is our Local NHL team is in town for training camp that same weekend, so I want to go and watch!!!

For sure definitely the week after the wedding. Was going to take the week before as well but someone suggested only take a few days before the wedding and tack those days on after the wedding (I wanted to take 2 weeks total). Spend more time on our honeymoon (or recover from jet lag- we're talking about going to Hawaii if we can afford it!)

We leave the UK on the Sunday and then our wedding is on the friday, we come back the following Weds and will have our UK reception that Saturday so that means 2 weeks off at least! xxx
