Well there's no reselling that dress, huh?

I love that shorter bubble dress the one girl had on - I would wear that all the time!

I liked that girl too; not sure the dress would look good on me though :p

I would totally do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to do a TTD in the junk yard with all the junk vehicles - ya know, pullin parts, chillin on the back of a truck, etc. That looks like FUN!

Well, I see it as fun. Either my dress can sit in the closet for the rest of my life, or I can have fun with it and make memories on top of the fun and memories I've already go with it.

To each his (or her, in this instance :) ) own!

However! If I had spent a lot on my dress, I'd probably feel the same way as you do, but I didn't spend much on my dress so I feel that I can justify the TTD :)

I would never beable to do that to my dress.Especially not after all the time spent looking for the perfect dress.

I brought this back because I can't really find another thread for it and didn't care to start another!

I'm doing a trash the dress session- I think it'd be loads of fun! Not sure wear or what yet, but possibly splattered paint or something as I'm an artist!

Like this:

or with a waterfall because he proposed to me in front of Cedar Falls but there are tons of waterfalls in that part of Ohio... (this photo isn't the waterfall he proposed to me in front of, just a googled one...)

Originally I was against it; because I was all "I'm saving this for my daughter" but chances are she's going to be a different size, it Won't be in style, and she'd totally hate it! And it'd fall apart in between now and then thread-wise and it'd yellow. So yeah- lets trash it! I got my dress for $140 brand new off an ebay bridal shop, retails for $800 and I absolutely love it! I know someone that paint splattered theirs, then they framed it and it's in their guest bedroom that they use for music and art and stuff (he's a musician and she's an artist) ... better than throwing it away, good conversation piece.. she's got pics of her session around the dress...

But for those who say they love it, and don't want to trash your dress- what about getting a second dress? from ebay or goodwill or something much less expensive... even if you don't totally love it, I think it'd be fun!

I think it would probably be a blast to do, however I just don't have the funds for it and the packages I've been looking at don't include that session. We are on such a tight budget that I can't justify not only buying a new dress but paying $100+ for yet another photo shoot ya know?

I'm not sure what exactly I plan to do with my dress yet, but I have 2 definite thoughts in mind. I may decide to save my dress and preserve it... not because I think my future daughter (if we have one) will want to wear it because that's a very iffy gamble at best, but just to save it and have another memory. But more likely what I'll do is donate my dress to a brides in need type place.

wow! that looks so fun! it would be nice to have a shoot after the wedding where you dont have to worry about it getting dirty. i might leave out the mud but would totally do shots at the downtown water fountain with hubby or some shots in an old junk yard with some old cars :)

I don't really have the extra money for it either!

My photographer isn't completely professional (she works out of home and does it on the side, for the wedding we're paying $300 for the whole day, and 100 proofs, plus travel since I'm getting married an hour from where she lives...) And I've talked to her about doing it, and she's pretty excited about it but has never done one before so she said she'd do mine if I let her use any of the pics in her portfolio, and then I'd only have to pay for cost of prints...

Or, I'm a photographer myself (I've done weddings, senior pics, etc) so maybe set up the camera with lighting and such and have my sister or someone go for it! haha... then we're doing it in our own time so I can take the time to set up the cam for her (thats how I did my senior pics and part of our engagement pics)...

Or maybe you could do a student photographer- they're pretty cheap...

But I understand what you mean! I like the idea of donating it.. I may have to look into that. I've heard of sites like www.recycledbride.com/ and such.. But anyways...

We'll see- I got 4 months!

Most TTD sessions are after the wedding! That'd definitely be a good thing! My Fh and I are big on playing with our dog and video gaming- so maybe some shots in the dress with stuff we love to do as well!
