We haven't yet. We are still hoping for the Celtic musician but several factors have made us stop planning for the moment.

However, the musician wrote this beautiful song called Yellow Rose for he and his wife's anniversary that we are thinking would be beautiful. I'm sorry, I can't find the words online but I've heard it many times in real life.

For our first dance, we I have decided on "As Time Goes By" from the movie "Casablanca". It has always been one of my favorite movies. Everyone has seen it and knows the scence and song. I think the song will really bring out a lot of "love" emotion because so many people understand its context.

I am not certain just yet, but I want this song for our first dance. Every thing about it is us. Every thing we went through to get to where we are today. The words sound like he is singing about our lives. I love this song. Here are the lyrics.

God Bless the Broken Road
By Rascal Flats

I set out on a narrow way
Many years ago
Hoping I would find true love
Along the broken road

But I got lost a time or two
I wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign
Pointed straight to you

That every long lost dream
Led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart
They were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way
Into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent
Just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost
And give it back to you
But you just smile
And take my hand
You've been there
You understand
It's all part of a grander plan
That is coming true

That every long lost dream
Led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart
They were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way
Into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

Now I'm just rolling home
Into my lovers arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I know it's pretty typical, but we are going to either use "From This Moment On" or "Me and You" by Kenny Chesney.

We have chosen George Strait's "I Cross My Heart" for Our first dance as husband and wife. The lyrics speak volumes about Our Relationship and ring true to Our Hearts. The one dance that I am having a hard time finding a good song for is the "Father/Daughter Dance." ...everyone usually picks "Butterfly Kisses" but for me and my dad our song should be more like "Fishin in the Dark" By Alabama....lol. I guess I'll just keep looking.

There is a really great song from a musical, Aspects of Love called "The First Man You Remember". That I am using for my father/daughter dance. It is by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It should be pretty easy to find even for the nonmusical fan. The song is about a father singing about his daughter growing up. He wants to be the first man she remembers and the last one she forgets. It is really adorable.

Choosing the song for your first dance is fairly simple. Your first dance will, no doubt, be a special memory-maker. There are virtually an unlimited number of songs from which you may make your choice. Here are some favorites which our brides and grooms have chosen in the past.

o Amazed by Lonestar
o From This Moment On by Shania Twain
o Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton
o At Last by Etta James
o I Swear by John Michael Montgomery
o I Do by Mark Wills / 98 Degrees
o (Everything I Do) I Do It For You by Bryan Adams
o Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers
o Always by Atlantic Star
o Could I Have this Dance by Anne Murray
o Unforgettable by Natalie or Nat King Cole
o Because You Love Me by Celine Dion
o It?s Your Love by Faith Hill & Tim McGraw
o Have I Told You Lately by Rod Stewart
o I Cross My Heart by George Strait

I won't have a Father-Daughter dance because my father is deceased. So I decided to have a Mother-Daughter dance and I chose Garth Brooks' "Your Song" which he wrote for his mother. I think it's fitting. We've also already chosen our first dance song. When I first heard it, I said, "This is going to be the song I dance to for my first dance." This was years ago. When I played it for my fiance one afternoon, he asked me "May I please dance with my beautiful wife?" And it became our First Dance Song...I'd share, but I want it to stay just ours.

I am having a Vow Renewal Ceremony and our first song will be by an artist name - Jon B. - "They Don't Know"

Don't listen to...
what people say -
they don't know about
'bout you and me!

It's just a song saying forget about the negativity and be happy. I feel like that represents a point where we are in our lives. We have been married for 10 years and it was a lot of doubtful people in our family. It's like a story of survival - look at us now, we couldn't be happier.
