This is just a funny I thought I'd point out. Have you ever noticed how ALL the mother of the bride models don't look nearly old enough to have daughters getting married? Does anyone have any good suggestions for a place to get an MoB dress for a REAL mom?

Just wanted to comment. I agree with you! Those ladies who model the MoB Dresses surely don't have a child much older then 6 or 7 and most don't have a dress size much higher then a 6 or so.... I know for my mom it took us a few stores and A LOT of dresses later to find the one that looks awesome on her! (and for her size as well.) Sorry can't help you out on where to go for shopping... I'm in Canada...don't think I could tell you a good store to try in the US...lol. Best of Luck, there are some out there I'm sure!

I am having the opposite problem. I don't want my poor mother to look like a frumpy old lady. Every store we have been to seems to have either frumpy old lady dresses and the occasional "I'm the mother of the bride and also a prostitute on the side" looking dresses. My mother is only going to be 48 when I get married. I don't want her to look 90 or like a Vegas show girl. Do any of you know of any deisgners? We only found one dress and the only store that carries it is almost in Cleveland!

My mother found a dress that is for a MoB and it doesn't look like a "frumpy old ladie's dress." I know exactly what you mean though, all the MoB dresses or rather most of them seem to have that "old lady coat that goes with them and the dresses seem to have no shape. I would suggest that you look in Brides Maids dresses. They can order them as big or as small as you need them! Plus I have noticed that some styles would really fit a MoB to a T!
