I was reading some recipes and decided to toss one into the mix.
It's not very mind-boggling, but it was created during one of those "Oh no, what to fix for supper" days when I worked at the meat lab :)
Because of this, measurements are not exact.
1-2 links (~6 in. links) Chorizo Sausage - slice (usually 1/2 link is good per person)
~12 oz. Fettuccine pasta
1 Can/Jar Alfredo sauce
1/2 bag frozen English peas
Directions (loosely ;) )
Cook fettuccine noodles until tender. After starting noodles, begin heating alfredo sauce on stovetop . Add sliced sausage to oiled frying pan. It will only take a few minutes for the sausage to fully cook
Once the sausage is fully cooked add the frozen peas (add a dash of oil if need be, though peas themselves and the sausage should provide enough moisture). These will thaw in just a few minutes.
Drain noodles once ready. With a slotted spoon add sausage and peas to the noodles - toss. Pour heated sauce over pasta and toss once more.
Ready to serve! It really takes no time - nor brain - to make this, and seriously was a last minute meal that I LOVED.
You can replace the sausage with most any other kind that has a strong flavor - hot Italian, Cajun, etc spice is good since so little goes into this (which is the point) - and the pasta with any noodle (though I think penne or fettuccini work the best)
I have wanted to re-create this using garden fresh tomatoes and garlic as well (we grow both! :D) and maybe adding a little apple cider vinegar to the sausage before putting it in with the pasta. BUT anywho...That's my Super Simple Sausage Supper!
