I'm just curious as to how much weight you've lost in preparation for your wedding. I'm in the process of losing weight although I already bought my dress.

I lost almost 25 lbs for the wedding, and gained back 7lbs after. I knew I'd never be able to maintain the 25 lbs off and I'm happy with what I'm at now.

I have lost none! I would like to loose some weight though. Maybe today will be the day I start a diet or something. I just can't seem to find the motivation. Idealy I would like to loose about 10.

I didn't try to lose weight for the wedding. I'm sure i the days leading up to it with all the running around I did I probably shed a pound or two. But nothing was intentional.

I don't intend on losing anymore weight, I, like Lacey, feel with all the running around before the big day (and nerves) I may lose a couple but I'm happy right where I am.

I have actually gained about 5lbs back, I need to get back on track! my dress comes in next month and I ordered it a size smaller because I was determined I was gonna lose all this weight,

I think I lost about 10 pounds. I remember going in and my dress was really loose and was like "ut oh" .. but that was way before I got it fitted so it all worked out.

I was going to try to loose some weight, maybe 10 - 15 lbs. but I got too stressed out with everything else and gave up. After the wedding I lost 18 lbs. So I got to my goal, but it took a little longer

I'm a plus size bride and his family doesn't approve of weight problems at all...so I've been frantically trying to lose more weight before I meet all of them. I've only lost 30+ pounds so far but I've dropped 2 sizes so I'm feeling pretty good about that.

That's great Jenn! But you shouldn't be losing weight just to make his family happy. Do it for you.

That's a really fair point. You're absolutely right about that. But the whole "family doesn't approve" thing has been really great incentive. I've been reteaching myself how to eat for a couple years...and saw limited success (but better health). The impending wedding finally gave me the incentive to spend the money on a personal trainer. It turns out that excercise tipped things in my favor and I've been losing about 2 pounds a week. (And I have muscles! :o)
I still have a long way to go, and I plan to keep seeing the personal trainer after the wedding. I've set myself a goal of being fit enough to scuba dive by this time next year. So that should help me avoid losing motivation after the wedding.
Thank you for caring though. This is such a great board!

That was my thing....I wanted to lose weight before the wedding, but somehow, I couldnt get motivated enough to do it. Weve been married 2 1/2 months and Ive really been working on it.
Youre right though....I think the stress of the wedding kept me from being able to do it.

Congrats on your weight loss. I wish I had muscles.....:bbcry:

30 lbs is awesome and you are going great!!! Congratulations...and although the "family doesn't approve" is great incentive, just remember that you FH is marrying you, because he loves you and in teh end he will love you whther you love 50 more lbs, or stay exactly the same!!!

So far I have lost approx. 11 lbs, depending on the time of the day :)... I weigh less in the morning so lets go with the morning ;)
I am about 125ish right now and I would like to be down to at least 110 when I get married in May (im short, a little less than 5 foot) sooo I need to lose the weight :( plus we will be honeymooning on the beach! I wanna look good in that bikini :)

I wanted to lose 25, but really have lost only about 5. I'm not too upset, though, as I have gone down a full size in jeans. How that is possible without losing weight on the scale, I don't know, but I"m not really going to complain. I wish I could have lost at least 2 more inches, as I will be honeymooning in Cozumel on the beach, but...

So far I have lost 21 pounds, but ideally I would like to lose another 35 or so. I used to weigh 126, but I put on a lot of weight recently due to lack of exercise and love of chocolate and food in general:bbredface:
I'm 5'5 and don't look like I weigh what I do, but I'm really unhappy that I can no longer wear what I like. I still have over 10 months til my Wedding and I've just started my diet again:irked: on Monday, so here's hoping!

I tried this online personal training. It includes nutrition meal plans from a nutritionist so its probably the combination of the 2... it's working so far anyway...

don't think of it as a diet...think of it as something you are doing for yourself...try writing it all down and give your self a break on the weekends...do you exercise?

Like some of you I also am a plus size bride and I've always had a weight issue. Over a year ago when I bought my dress, I had bought it a size smaller to "make myself lose weight!" Well I never did, so back in Dec. when I tried it on and still couldn't get into it, I really started to panic. I went to the Doctor and he put me on some weight-loss medication. That along with now eating right (so hard, so very very hard) and working my arse off I have lost 20lbs in less than 2 months. This past Tuesday, I figured I would try my dress on to see if it had made any difference and guess what.......DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!.......I GOT IN MY DRESS!!!!!!! I HAVE ACCOMPLISHED MY FIRST GOAL OF GETTING INTO MY DRESS!!!!!!:rassberry: This was the very first time that my dress had been zipped up AND hooked ON ME!!!!! I was so flippin' excited! I ran around the house! So, now that I have my first goal under my belt, my next goal is to LOOK GOOD IN MY DRESS!!! LOL I have so much more ground to cover but I know I will get through it! I had to share my joy with you all! :)
