I was out with my Mom this afternoon and had to stop by my house to let the dogs out for a bit. I was backing into the garage like I have done a million times before, but I was trying to make sure I had enough room for her to get out on the passenger side ... well I wasn't paying attention to how much room I had on my side! I scrapped the car mirror; cracked the frame and broke a good bit of the mirror glass too. There was even a chunk of glass stuck in the wood frame of the garage door!

I guess I am lucky I have those mirrors that extend out or it would have fallen off altogether. So I am not sure if we are going to have to replace the whole mirror or just the glass. But DH didn't get upset with me about it so I guess that is good :)

I just feel dumb about it.

Aww Brandi, I'm sorry - that sucks! :irked: We ALL do stuff like that sometimes, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating when it happens. Hopefully it won't cost too much to fix!

Hubby just looked at it and said we can probably get away with just replacing the glass. Looks like that shouldn't be more than $25 *whew*

I swear, my mom seems to take off a mirror on her car pulling into the garage at least once a year. You'd think she would have learned by the 6th or 7th time.
And hey $25 isn't bad to fix it!

Whoops! I did almost the same thing about a year ago. I was late for church and backed out of the driveway. We had to replace the whole mirror, though. Glad you made out cheap!

don't feel bad!!! Once I was backing out of the drive way and ran into the fence =/ I couldn't find the right color of my car to paint the scratches I got... so I now I have dark blue lines on the side of my car :ooh: better than rust! LoL

Aw don't feel bad Brandi! I did the same thing, 'cept I was pulling into the garage, not backing into it. Just wasn't paying attention to my side, and hit the side of the garage with the mirror.

I do stuff like that all the time, and I just decided I was a "flawed human being" not a dumb@ss. Therefore, you are also a "flawed human being" and not a "dumb@ss". Don't be so hard on yourself, everyone does that stuff sometimes!

*hehe* This reminds me of saying someone is "vertically challenged" instead of short ;)

Hehe. Brandi I'm glad it was just the mirror and not the rear 1/4 panel or something... $25 is nothing compared to what it could have been! You're not a dumba$$.... I've done stuff like that before too :ooh: :bbeek:
