Just curious how many of you have a song that is special to you and your FH/DH and if so, what is it?
Me, we don't really have a song. But I really like that one by Aerosmith "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing"

We have quite a few... they are:
I'll Be - Edwin McCain
Where you are - Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey
This I Swear - Nick Lachey
My Everything - 98 degrees
I Do (Cherish You) - 98 degrees
On Bended Knee - Boyz II Men
For You I Will - Teddy Gieger
Lets Get it On - Marvin Gaye (Long story... think Bed Bath and Beyond music sample stations and dancing in the aisles)

So each of these songs has a special meaning to you and your FH? Is it just for you or do the songs mean something to him too?
I always thought of the "Your Song" thing as a song that was playing at a special moment in your relationship. Like when you first kissed, or when he proposed, or the song you first danced to ... something like that.
Is is not like that to you all?
Honestly I can't remember any song when I first kissed my DH, I am sure there was music playing but I don't remember what it was ;) I am pretty sure there wasn't any music playing when we decided to get married and we don't dance ;)

All of those songs play significance in our relationship. Some of them have to do with the time we were in jr. high and high school and the others have played more significance now. We'll be using all of these songs in some way at the reception. Here is the significance behind them.
I'll Be - Edwin McCain is probably going to be our first dance song and is one that Jonathan sings to me all the time.
Where you are - Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey is the first song we danced to in high school and something that we used to and still sing together. We did it for a talent show my freshman year of high school.
This I swear - Nick Lachey is what FH calls the "marriage theme song"... we play it all the time after we have an argument and it always puts us in a mushy mood. We think that this may be the introduction music... and yes its the Newlyweds (Nick and Jessica) theme song.
My Everything - 98 degrees is the song he blared in his car outside my house after we broke up to "get me back." It was like something you would see in a movie.
On Bended Knee - Boyz II Men is special because before we started dating this past time (after the divorce) he sang this song to me... it was a really special moment and this song is forever special to us... it always takes us back.
I Do (Cherish You) - 98 degrees is special because he purposely played it when he proposed to me... It really added something to the moment.
Lets Get It On - Marvin Gaye is a funny story... My best friend and MOH went with us to Bed Bath and Beyond right after we got engaged. They have these CD listening stations all over the store and she pressed the Marvin Gaye button and it started to play Let's Get it On. Well everyone knows that Jonathan and I are waiting for marriage to have sex so she decided that this should be our "last dance" or exit song at the reception. Jonathan and I danced in the aisles and its something that makes us laugh because its kinda embarrassing... everyone knows what we're going to do... I dont want to advertise it.
So thats it...

*hehe* that is a cute story. I did a wedding a while back where the bride and groom were 'waiting' and they played that song at the farewell, but it was the FOB that played it as a surprise ... the bride was blushing all the way to the limo ;)

Does "I Like Big Butts" count as "our" song? Heheehe...
Actually, we are going to be dancing to Joe Cocker's "A Little Help From my Friends" We have a lot of songs that "mean" something to us, but this is the one that was chosen.

"Our" song is Sunday Morning by Maroon 5. It is just so perfect for us, especially the part about weathering storms and how we are still together in the end. It just fits that we have been through a lot as a couple and it has only made our bond and love stronger.
Sunday morning rain is falling
Steal some covers share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in
But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
And I would gladly hit the road get up and go if I knew
That someday it would lead me back to you
That someday it would lead me back to you
That maybe all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave
Fingers trace your every outline
Paint a picture with my hands
Back and forth we sway like branches in a storm
Change the weather still together when it ends
That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave
But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
Sunday morning rain is falling and I'm calling out to you
Singing someday it'll bring me back to you
Find a way to bring myself back home to you
And you may not know
That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning

I think it just depends on the couple and your history. My husband and I have been together for 12 years so we have different songs for different phases.
As well as different songs for different moods or moments.

For the longest time our song was Stairway to Heaven by Led Zepplin. It was the first song we danced to the night that I met him. When it came time to decide on a first dance song for the wedding though, we decided it was a bit too long and had too many beat changes to easily danced to. So, we picked one of our favorite singers, Frank Sinatra, and chose I've Got You Under My Skin. I have to admit I like that one a bit better than Stairway lol!

You know we really don't have a song. It's odd but that's just the way it is. There are tons of songs that make me think of him and vice versa but none that is "ours".

Ummmm....well...our real song is Whiskey Girl By Toby Keith. When I first met Matty we were both heavy drinkers. we were still in THAT stage and the only thing I could really stand to drink was Whiskey and coke. (My favorite.) and it's funny because the rest of the song pertains to me too. Belly button ring (at the time), tattoo, tight jeans. But Matt always changes the part of a blue bandana to "yellow bandana in her hair." (And we went on to buy a 68 mustang and all that lol! If you know the song, you'll know what I am talking about really.) And the other song he likes to change just for me, One hot mamma to one Hot Shawna! lol I always giggle. I love my hubby, he is so cute. He often changes the words to song so that they fit the two of us! ;)
