Here, I thought I'd share a little something I wrote about wedding makeup ...

* Camera ready make up: We recommend that you hire a professional make up artist. If you can't, here are some tips to do it yourself:

- Focus on the eyes for dramatic effect. You know what they say, "the eyes are the window to the soul" Go for a little darker eye make up than you normally wear but don't over do it! Use earthy, warm tone colors. Use the darker shade close to the lash line and a lighter shade on the lid close to the brow line to brighten the eye. Stay away from frosted shadows and glitter, this does not look flattering in pictures!

Use a brush on eye-liner, (or at least a new, sharp eye pencil) it lasts longer and creates a sharper line. Don't forget to use water-proof eye liner and mascara!*
*
- Use a foundation and powder that properly matches your skin tone. There are a few places to have foundation specially made for you. Check out Max Factor, I think they make something similar.

Use blush sparingly, just to add a hint of color to your cheeks. (as if you were blushing) The best blush shade is one about the same as your natural lip color or maybe a hair darker. Darker complexions can use a darker peachy or rose shade or even go without depending on how dark your skin is.

- Then line your lips with liner a couple of shades darker than your natural lip color and fill in with light weight, semi-permanent lipstick or gloss the same shade as the liner or just a bit lighter is ok. Or just blend the liner with a sheer gloss, giving just a hint of color. The key is not to look too made up, but accentuate the beauty within you. - Bring touch up supplies: powder and/or blotting sheets, etc.

- It helps to do test hair and make up before the wedding. Many brides do this during the bridal session with your photographer. If you can't do a bridal session with your photographer to test hair & make up, do it yourself at home. Have a friend take pictures, of you so that you will have an idea of what you will want to do for the wedding and what it looks like. Be sure the groom is not around that day! :)

Best wishes and happy planning!

Another thing to add is to try and skip out on SPF in your makeup or lotion if possible. It will make your face look whiter than your body in photographs. :)

Hope it's okay that I add that--I'm new from UW and don't want to step on any toes! :)

As a former wedding photographer, I never experienced any such problem. I don't think that really makes as much of a difference as ppl think. The problem I have seen is when brides make up doesn't match her skin tone properly and/or wasn't blended well and thus making the face look whiter than the body in the pictures ;)

You are fine, you are free to post any related tips and ideas you see fit. You won't step on my toes ;)

I just had to comment my opinion/experience on what you posted too, I hope you don't take offence :)
