Ok so I am not engaged yet. But I am sure I will be married in the next 18 months. My boyfriend and I have been together for 4.5 years and we are really just waiting till he saves some money for a ring.

All that being said we have discussed our wedding a bit. We want something small, about 40 people. However, I have a large immediate family and an even larger extended family. We believe our guest list will be comprised of My siblings, parents as well as his and a number of his extended family that we get along with really well. So this will be leaving out a large portion of my extended family as well as part of his extended family. I refuse to feel guilty about not inviting them. The wedding will be paid for by us and I want it to be what I want.

Ok finally my question, I still want to send something to all of the people who will not be invited to my wedding to let them know I am gettig married. What do I send? Do I send it before we get married or after?

Hello and welcome to OW!

I think that it's more than ok to keep your wedding small - we chose to - but, unfortunately, I would watch out for sore feelings from those who don't get invited. I had several members of my extended family feel left out, but you have to just stay strong and explain your reasoning - the venue is small, more people weren't in budget, whatever it may be. And then you just hope for the best - that people will understand! :)

As for sending something out - a lot of people choose to send a wedding announcement after the wedding.

Good luck with everything! :)
