Has anyone ever had it?

I'm having symptoms and I'm not sure if that's what it is or not. The pain seems like it's in the right spot - it's located to the right of my belly button and then the pain kinda spreads up my torso and down my belly. It hurts when I push on it. I've had no appetite. I've had diarrhea. No fever. No vomiting.

The weird thing is that it comes and goes. Right now there's little to no pain. But later on, who knows. I always thought that if you had appendicitis, the pain would just get worse and worse. Any thoughts??

hmm my mother had it... i think initially it came and went which is why she waited to go to the doctor... she waited til the pain became unbearable (she thought it was a kidney infection or a stone or smthn) and it ended up rupturing and she needed surgery and was in the hospital for at least 2 weeks...

not saying this is what u have but if it is only getting worse, i'd go see ur doc

My sister had her appendix out when she was younger; I don't remember what the symptoms were other than abdominal pain.

Here is some info on appendicitis -
http://www.emedicinehealth.com/appendicitis/page3_em.htm

Abdominal pain can be associated with many things though -

I would talk to a Dr for sure.

:goodluck:

I had it.... it is hard to diagnosis because people have such different symptoms. they actually sent me home twice from the hospital becuase they told me that I had cysts on my ovaries (it is the kind of the same type of pain).

My mom has had to have two cysts from her ovaries removed because of how painful they were.

Hope you find out what is going on soon! I can't imagine how uncomforatble you must be!

I had one removed from my fallopian tube...........it was the size of a grapefruit.......it twisted my tube so bad, they had to take that too

the pain came and went, depending on how bad it was twisting the tube

I'm actually not in pain. It was more discomfort than pain (maybe BORDERLINE pain!). Anyway, I went to the dr's today. I felt fine, but when she pressed on this ONE spot, I yelped like a dog. So she's sending me for a CT scan. I'm not really worried that much, just because I'm not really in constant pain anymore. She said it could be a number of things, all things that aren't really that serious (or that I don't consider serious anyway... I guess the most serious being appendicitis or cycts). We'll see!

Oh no - I hope it's not something serious! I had a cyst once that freaked me out - I totally thought I had appendicitis, but, much to my relief, did not. Hope everything turns out ok! :D

Well, it's not appendicitis...

I went to the dr's yesterday, feeling fine. She examined me by pressing everywhere on my belly and asking if I felt any pain, which I didn't. I thought this was going nowhere until she pressed on a spot and I yelped like a dog. It was lower than where my appendix would be (I think). Anyway, she sent me for a CT scan which revealed that I don't have appendicitis. I have an OBGYN appt in 2 1/2 weeks. Since I'm not in pain now, I think I'll just wait and talk to her about it then. Maybe it was just a pulled muscle or something!
