Actually I thought it was only 30 posts to add pictures. I'm not 100% sure, but that is what I think. I know it is not 100, at 100 you become a senior member. I think it is 30 when you just become a regular member.

I'll post more on that later. time to get dressed!

Hey there :) Can't wait to hear about your wedding! And see pics! Kacie_Bride is right, it's only 30 posts to be able to post pics, so you only need another 22. If you can't do it all on journals, go to one of the polls or general chat areas and answer those for a little while. They're fun, easy and quick...and then you can come play with pics :)

I did okay at work, my meds were somewhat working i guess. You see, I'm a portrait photographer, and my job requires me to jump around alot and be really happy and perrrrky! but when my tummy hurts it's hard to do!

I am curious, why Halloween? I knew a couple a while back that married on Halloween. They were sort of a 'dark' people (lol, some ppl say I am too :bbconfused:) ... the bride wore a black, goth type dress and got had the ceremony outside by a bonfire.
HalloweenBride
07-12-2006, 07:37 PM
To answer the "Why halloween?"
Halloween is my favorite Holiday. I have loved it forever, and my parents are really into it as well. I've always wanted a theme wedding, and one of my cousins had a Renisannce Wedding in 1996 and we all came in costumes for the reception (hers was "historical costumes of any kind" ) and it was so much fun. I just wanted something different. I also tossed around the idea of a "alice in wonderland" theme too, but for the spring.

see, ladies, i did post pix! here are some more
I like this hairdo
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/zoeblog/172888hair.jpg
I have 5 bridesmaids (!!!!) but only two have picked out their dresses. I have pix of them in my camera, but I can't find my camera cable.
This is Lori's Dress (Lori is a coworker of mine, she's a doll)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/zoeblog/loridress.jpg
and this is Dana's Dress (Dana is the friend that introduced Steve and I)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/zoeblog/danadress.jpg
One of my bridesmaids lives in Alaska, so I'm going to have to find her dress here and ship it to her, I guess. that reminds me to get her measurements, because I need to buy it soon! the other two are busy with kids so i am going to have to get on them a tiny bit to pick out their dresses.

We're going to lightly bead my veil here and there with clear crystals and i think red rhinestones. I just need to find a bead store that sells what I am looking for.
Not much wedding stuff done this week. I went scrapbooking with my moh and a bridesmaid, and we are trying to set up a day to go have them try on dresses. I also need to have my bm vivian ask her mom about doing the bustle on my dress, i've heard bad things about the DB alterations dept.
my stomach pain is still horrendous, and I haven't been able to eat or even FEEL like eating for a day or so.. it sucks.
time to check ebay!

Your dress is VERY similar to mine and the veil you were wearing in the pictures was exactly what I had. Even what you described above,....even your BM's dresses are like mine! Great minds think alike. If you wanna check out pics, check the After wedding journals and check out Shawna and Matt's journal! ;) welcome to onewed and have fun!! :)

Photography
the photographers I'll probably go with are two ladies from my work (one is my boss!) that work together to do weddings. They had told me it was $400 and I was cool with that, but i thought it was for the full day. I want all of those photojounalistic photos of getting ready, etc, and they really didn't have anything like that one their website. ugg. I am sooo picky!
I have shot weddings before, and while it was fun, and I might do it again, it's not my forte (i consider myself more of family photographer)..but ugg. can i just clone myself and take my own wedding pix??? lol
I'm going to do ALOT of the detail shots myself, and all of the bridal party portraits BEFORE the wedding. This way i willl know i'll like them, anyway!

My Doc says NO WORKING until I'm cleared by a GI specialist. Ihave to have a colonoscopy! ew.
The good news? I have tons of time to work on wedding stuffs
The bad news? I won't be working for 4 weeks so no monies to spend on wedding stuffs!
Things I'm going plan to do this week
Get all the addresses together for the guest list. Steve's sister is helping us with his side of the family (she got married a few years ago, I think she's sending us her list)
Finish invites (We need to print the reception cards and some sort of map or something)
Put bridesmaid Dana's dress on Layaway or try to get it on ebay
Set up times to go with other bm's to DB to try on dresses
Meet with my cousin Sue about the CAKE!!! I'll post about that later
Work on the wedding website

We're probably going to have to change our photographer now. One of the ladies we were having is my boss, and she hasn't been very helpful during my sickness, leaving me a message on my phone about leaving everyone hanging at work just because I don't feel well. Gawd. I SO want to quit, but I need the insurance and I have Paid Time off coming that I want to use for the wedding.
Things done this week:
Invites for Engagement Party out and 15 rsvps received
Steve bought our signature mat and frame
bought pens for addressing invites
confirmed officiant
blah. I have my colonoscopy on Wed. joy hurray!

I never thought having an engagement party was such a unique thing. Every single person in my family has called me up, and said "I've never been to an engagement party before! DO I HAVE TO BUY YOU A PRESENT??? uh no, actually you don't...we're just throwing a party so everyone can mingle and have omg..FUN!!!
ugg.
Steve's sister is now saying that we registered at places that are too expensive (macy's and linens n things) I can't believe how stingy that is. Don't get us a present. I really REALLY don't care.I am more offended by the "too expensive" comment. there are things on BOTH registries that are $10 and under.
yay..in-laws!
Kacie_bride
07-30-2006, 11:18 PM
Lines and Things is not a high end store so I don't see how you could get that much cheaper except maybe at Wal-Mart or Target. Macy's can be out of some people's budgets, but like you said you have stuff on there under $10. Just re-check it and make sure you have enough of a variety of things that are for every price range. If you do, then forget her comment. Who cares. Gift registery is just there as a tool to help your guests. They aren't obligated to buy from it.
WhiskeyGirl
07-31-2006, 12:21 AM
Isn't family fun?
Ignore her comments and put it off as her being silly. It's liek Kacie said, they are not required to buy anything off of it!!
Good luck dealing with your SIL!! :D

Today we went to have Steve measured for his tux! I was kicking myself for not bringing my camera! ugg. I'll go to the fitting I guess, and take pics there. We reserved 4 tuxes, Steve, my daddy-o, best man Colby and groomsman Curt (steves cousin). They are black with tails, and a black vest, ivory shirt and black tie. Steve was happy because his favorite color IS black!
in other news, our venue is pissing me off. We booked it and paid the deposit WAAAY back in June, and the owner said she would send a packet of info right away. She told us that she was extremely busy in June and she was going to go in Vacation in July. So it's AUGUST we never got the info, and her voice mail has been full for the past three weeks, and she hasn't sent up anything or called or anything. I really don't know what to do. I only have her voice mail number that I call like 15 times a day, but i don't know what to do!!

http://i17.ebayimg.com/02/i/07/5f/76/42_1.JPG
my flower faerie will be wearing the outfit on the left with leaves inside instead of flowers, and a fall flower/leaf head circlet (will post pix when it's done)
She will be tossing red petals and fall leaves out of a basket (i've bought it, just not decorated it yet)
my ring bearer is going to be dressed somewhat like Frodo from the Lord of the Rings, and will being carrying a small chest with the rings in it. My bell ringer will be dressed about the same.

ho-hum. I am sort of beginning to like not working! bad bad! I did turn my application at the other studio today, and spoke with the manager. Then I went to walgreens to pick up the 8x10's I am entering in the STATE FAIR! I am so excited! People are going to see my work! I need to mount them on some foam board and drop them off tomorrow!
in other news, I bought bridesmaid Jennifer her dress on ebay! it's a 10 and she's an 8, but my friends mom is going to alter it for us. I can't wait to see Jen again! I haven't seen her for 7 years! She moved to Alaska and I miss her terribly. We met in the 7th grade. She's coming the thurs before the wedding, and i think staying a few days after.
that's about it on the wedding front...

Good news!
So, I had posted before that we couldn't get ahold of the lady that owns our venue. We had been calling her for weeks and weeks because she never sent us our contract and wedding packet. So the other day, I'm freaking out because I can't contact her, and I bitched to Steve about it all day, and later in the car on the way to the movies. he kept trying to come up with ways to find her, and i kept shooting them down. so we

get to the movies, buy popcorn and all, and who do we walk by on the way to our theatre? THE LADY! We made sure we had her home # and gave her ours! and she called and assured she was sending the stuff again.
Today we finished our invites, mostly. the main invite, response card and the reception cards, worked on the guest list and mom printed the bridal shower invites.
I also got Jen's dress in the mail today, I need to go hang it up!

this is not wedding related at all, just need to spew
i am so excited about the fair tomorrow. I haven't had photos in a public (not online) competition since high school. I stopped entering them after hs because I was so discouraged that all of my friends won and I never even got a honorable mention. I finally enterer in the county fair this year, and tomorrow I find out if I won. I seriously doubt it, but still, it's one of my biggest dreams. I have won one contest, but it was at my work, and i think I won because my boss felt sorry for me! oh well. I don't really pray but all I can do is hope hope hopppppppe that at least a runner up or anything. I don't care! I don't know why it means so much to me, but it does.

Pregnancy is weird. I am either not hungry, or starving. I have no job, so I have to eat whatever food my parents buy. ugg. I want Quizno's! right now!
In wedding news, the addressing the the invites starts today, and we're going to print out the response envelopes as well.
We have a meeting with the venue lady in the morning, so I'll take some more pix of the outside.
We just need to meet with another possible photographer (www.amorephoto.com (http://www.amorephoto.com)) and write our ceremony, and get the music straight.
All of my Bms have their dresses except one, which is a little annoying, but she is waiting for a certain dress on ebay.
I need to get my dress bustled. I'm not worried about not fitting since I know I've lost about 10-15 lbs after we bought it because of the IBS. The ibs is much better that I'm not working!
I also need to talk to my cousin about our cake. It'll be a topsy turvy cake with black and white swirled fondant and blood red roses.

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay we got the photographer! well, it's two photographers, and they rock! Mom even went with a waaaaaaaaay bigger package than I expected. I just wanted the medium resolution cd (print up to 8x10) but the one we got has an engagement/bridal session, unlimited wedding day coverage with two photographers, like 500 proofs in an album, TWO 11x14's and a huuuuuuuuuuge 12x12 album AND the cd! mom wants to keep the album at her house, and said fine, it's not like I'll never get to see it or show it off, right? I hate being bored. We spent half the day at my aunts house, visiting and whatnot, and it was so boring I about damn fell asleep! Mom was going to take me and my godmother for a pedicure, but my godmother was too tired. I got a little mad because I really wanted to go. oh well. Mom says we'll do it another time. Maybe i'll save it for right before the wedding, and get my nails done too. I want to get halloween toenails for the wedding! not like anyone will see them, but it will be fun. I need to take some pix of some of the decorations we have for the wedding, it's really getting to be alot! We're going to have a "centerpiece" party with my bridesmaids and one of my aunts and some cousins. We're going to make our centerpieces and one of my cousins makes polymer clay figures (i'll take a pic) and we're going to make some of those as well...i guess I'd better get off my tush and do something now.

It's pissing me off! He only works part time, I don't know why he doesn't have time to call around and get these addresses. We don't even have the address for the BEST MAN! I have a little bit of a head cold today so I am working on our wedsite and other things. I'm making a FAQ for people who don't know what to wear etc. I will post it in a few. I am REAL antsy for any rsvps. The bridal shower ones are due in THREE days and we haven't heard from anyone.Well, Dana (groomswoman) called and said she might have to work, and one of my cousins said in passing that she was coming, but I want official! ugg.
I'm also working on costume ideas for the fam. I had wanted steve and i to be a dead bride and groom (all of my fam and bridal party is going trick or treating!) but I can't find a white dress anywhere that i could rip up and make all gross. I do have a dress somewhere in storage that would work as a Bride of Frankenstein dress, and that would be cool..but I don't want to have to apply frankenstein makeup to steve for houuuuuurs!
JennF
09-13-2006, 03:38 PM
...but I can't find a white dress anywhere that i could rip up and make all gross.
So you've tried the thrift shops I'm guessing? What about Ebay?
What if you wore a long black dress instead and dyed a wedding veil black? So you'd have the whole bride get up but in black instead? Or some other color like green maybe? It seems to me that as long as you've got the trappings of a bride, people will get it.
Oooh Are you going to have dead looking flowers as a bouquet while you Trick or Treat?
Valmai
09-13-2006, 03:43 PM
What if u bought one of ebay - brand new ones form china are only about £30 x
HalloweenBride
09-13-2006, 04:28 PM
I've really been looking for any color dress that would work, at thrift stores and what have you. I figure a lighter color dress I could bleach it and rib it up and run over it with the car..lol..or a darker one I could dye black. For steve I can get any black pants and and dress jacket shirt and tie at the thrift store. I am going to tease up my hair with a askew veil and do all of the dead zombie makeup on both of us. Steve has a shaved head so I'll probably get him a top hat to wear. ugg. I should go to the store when he's at work tonight and see what they have! I refuse to buy premade costumes!
Luke (my 6 year old cousin) wants to be Batman, so i can swing that and the three year old daniel wants to be Spiderman but i don't let them wear masks when they are out trick or treating, so i told him he could be a spider! he likes that!
time for a nap for me. i've been having some bad cramping in the baby area, but everyone tells me that if i'm not bleeding, then i shouldn't worry.

Remember how I've been saying I wanted to get some RVSP's? There were none yesterday, and today when the mailman came I was taking a nap (darn head cold) but I heard the truck. So I got up and saw the mail on the counter and rifled thru it..nothing. ok, fine...walk around the counter and what do I see? a big envelope with RSVP's written on it..and two inside.. OPENED. UGG!! my mom must've opened them. I am soooooo irked. I know if I say ANYTHING she will get mad at me and go on and on how she is paying for the wedding and blah blah and I should be more grateful and all that, but this is my first and only wedding. She's been married twice, why does she need to open my things? am i stupid in being mad about this?

She's in the wedding as a Groomswoman, and insists that she cannot find a black satin floor length dress, and says she has a black velvet dress thats floor length and she wants to wear that..ugg. Fine, whatever. I have no idea what it looks like. I hope that it doesn't totally clash with the other dresses... sigh
not much happened today, I did laundry! and we went to Panda Express and then to Walmart (steve bought me some graham crackers and some nectarines!) and then for a loooong walk at my favorite park. Then we went to Savers on my halloween costume shopping but i didn't find anything. Then we had some ice cream! i am so spoiled, but i love it!

nothing much new. We got some halloween themed washtubs to put drinks in at the wedding. We're working on the music (well i am) and we need to start working on the ceremony together. and steve finally got me those addresses! so i can do the invites now! i'd better do that right now!

so, one of my cousins and uncle came to visit from Cali...we sent their immediate family five separate invites (my cus, her kids, grandkids and my uncle) This is 7 people total. So, she's talking to my mom, and says, sorry, we won't be able to come, and gives her back ALL the invites, not just the response cards...just opened and stuffed back in the envelopes! Gee. thanks. I guess they thought that we could just use them for someone else (i used the stamped response envelopes today to send to steves fam, I mean, stamps aren't cheap) but I would've liked them to formally answer. I'm weird that way.
other news? we got towels off our registry! We got two towels, 2 hand towels, 2 washcloths, 1 bathmat and one bathsheet in the color Iris (purply blue) Yay!

yes, i took the ring pix. I still am having a little bit of cramping, and a tiny amount of bleeding, and I am SO hot i can barely breathe. I have all the windows and doors open and I'm DYING. oh well. my temp is probably about 100, but they said i would have to have 102 temp, more severe bleeding and more cramps to go back. i don't want to go back, but i feel so cruddy. no to mention i was supposed to start my new job tomorrow, and iwas unable to get ahold of my new boss today, but one of the other associates said she would call her for me, but she never called me back.

We lost the baby. I was having extreme bleeding and cramping last night, and my mom called the hosp and they wanted to send an ambulance, but she drove me instead (it's faster) and they made me sit in a obgyn room and bleed all over the bed for hours and hours, and drugged me with demerol and valium and sent me home at like 3am. I am on complete bed rest now (mom is giving me the evil eye for being on the laptop right now) I took this picture yesterday after noon before the bad bleeding started.

Another rvsp today, from one of my cousins. so that's 4 more coming. I've asked her daughter (12 years) to be my memorial candle lighter. She's such a sweetie, and her dad has half custody of her, and I want her to be there, so I thought by putting her in the wedding, maybe he wouldn't be such a butthead and let her be there. If I would've gotten married earlier in life, she would've been a flower girl. I tossed around the jr. bridesmaid idea but she's a tomboy, so this way she doesn't have to get all poofed up. I also sent out like 7 more invites to steves fam so thats 12 more people invited. I also sent one to our officiant. I also need to find some ushers. I have some cousins that we could ask I guess. ugg. Stress!

my friend sent me this list
What not to say to a couple following a miscarriage*:
"Well, nature takes care of her mistakes." The day before, oblivious to any problem they had been excitedly planning their baby's future. They loved it, anticipated it, were excited and thrilled. They imagined their baby, thought up names...looked forward to it. It was never a mistake to to them.
"At least you didn't get to know the baby." That baby was carried inside it's mothers body. How can any relationship be any stronger or more intimate?
"Now you have angel looking after you..." They didn't want an angel - they wanted their child.
"It's for the best." How exactly? Isn't the best a successful, healthy pregnancy?
"You are young you can have other children." This child was a person. It can not be replaced. You would not tell a grieving child, "Don't worry, your mom is young. She'll marry you a new dad." They don't want another baby. They wanted this baby. And you don't necessarily know for sure if they can have another child.
"I know how you feel." If you have never lost a child, you do not know how they feel. Everyone feels their grief uniquely. (Edited by Robyn: I just wanted to say again that I did not write this list. And if you've had a miscarriage, stillbirth, or lost a child yourself, it most certainly does not apply to you. You have our deepest sympathies.)
"You should be over it by now..." It doesn't matter how long it's been. You do not ever just get over it.
"You should be happy it didn't suffer." Of course they didn't want their child to suffer. They wanted a completely healthy and happy child.
"It's nature's way of getting rid of something that was deformed." The couple probably prefers to think of their child in memories as beautiful and perfect, not deformed. That perfect child is the one they are now grieving for in their hearts and minds.
"At least it didn't live a few hours and then die, that would have hurt worse." Maybe they would have loved to have had the opportunity to hear their baby's cry, to see the color of their eyes and hair, and to tell them how much that they loved and wanted them face-to-face.
"You're young, you'll get over it." What does age have to do with pain?
"Good luck to you." The couple is feeling anything but lucky at this moment.
"It could've been worse, it could've happened later." Things can ALWAYS be worse. And later term pregnancy losses are more traumatic in many instances. But this can make them feel as if the loss and sadness are totally dismissed. There's never a good or easy time to lose a child.
"Have you ever thought of not having children?" Yes, they probably have. They realize that they may never be parents now more than ever.
"It was Gods will...God wanted the child with him...God needed another flower in his garden...etc." Such comments can have the effect of making a parent very angry and bitter with God, which may block a possible source of comfort. Religion is very personal.
"God never gives you more than you can bear." Well this seems pretty unbearable at the moment.
"Count your blessings that you didn't have it." They may be finding it hard to find the blessings in anything right now.
"What is God trying to tell you with this?" This implies God killed their baby to teach them a lesson. The couple believes God loved their child as much as He loved them.
"You can try again soon." The furthest thing on most couple's minds right immediately after a miscarriage is the ability to try again. And trying again will not replace the child they lost.
"At least you know you can get pregnant." Well, yes -- this time. But what about in the future? Do you know she will be able to get pregnant again for sure? Her doctors might not.i am glad that i didn't tell some people about the pregnancy, because i can see alot of these things coming out of their mouths...
:sorry: Im so sorry you had a miscarriage.

bleh. I get to clean today. I'm weird because I have to take a shower BEFORE I clean, even if I get dirty and sweaty. Cleaning when I already feel funky is just grooooosss. Other than straightening up my room, I get to vacuum, wash windows and clean the bathroom. Bridal shower is coming up...I really wish someone would RVSP other than some of my bridal party. I'm annoyed because some of my family members have been asking my mom if they "have to buy a present" again. gawd. This is all my cousins who have been married for years, and they all had bridal showers, and mom and I bought them all presents for that, and wedding presents...not to mention baby presents and christmas gifts for their kids for years and years.
sigh. I'm just greedy i guess...I want presents!

We also got the boys their halloween costumes. I feel bad because i just don't have the times to make their costumes this year, but oh well. Luke (6 years) is going to be Batman, and Daniel (3) is going to be Robin! it's going to be so cute. I have to make their wedding day cloaks and the flower girl dress anyway still. We got some halloween decorations too. I can't wait for the wedding, it's in a little over a MONTH! A MONTH PEOPLE!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

ooooo I am so excited about this bridal shower! it's finally starting to hit me that I AM GETTING MARRIED! IN A MONTH! GAAAHH! We're not sure how many people are coming to the bridal shower, but I'm guessing about 10-12 or so. We cleaned and did some decorating today, but i still need steve to take me to the party store so I can get some pink streamers (mom bought all white streamers and garlands...and our living room is painted white..lol) and some balloons. I just like balloons.
We went thru the house we are getting married today to plan our seating and everything, which was hard because we don't know how many people are coming yet. We have about 60 seats in the ballroom (for the reception/dinner), and upstairs people can sit and mingle as well. For the ceremony, we're going to be married in front of this window.
http://static.flickr.com/48/163837810_e1f74b6427.jpg
(table will not be there)
The offiiciant will cover the air conditioner and i'm hoping that the bridal party will cover the hideously ugly pink bows that are on the curtains (need to upload pics of those, I took some today) and the lady says we can't change them for the ceremony, which totally pissed me off to no end. They are old, and wrinkled and just wired on with some ugly black wire! not like I don't like pink, but my wedding color is RED. ugg. still ticked about this.
http://static.flickr.com/107/255974883_d6bab59fd0_m.jpg
We figured out where the chocolate fountain, cake table, sweetheart table and candy buffet are going to be, as well as where we are going to put some of our larger decorations. I like the lady that runs the house, but she was ticking me off today. theres a perfect place at the entrance to the ballroom (at the bottom of the stairs) that would be the ultimate place to put my candy buffet, but she saids no food can go there, and won't explain why. It's going to be in a different place, oh about 2 feet away, sharing a table with the choco fountain, but it's just not going to look as cool. oh well.

ok, more pix
http://static.flickr.com/109/255974862_6d07e6b0dd.jpg
this is where the reception will be. The wood floor is the dancefloor. The empty area to the right is where the sweetheart table will be. The room wasn't set up for a wedding (a bosnian 1st birthday party?) we will have only round tables to sit at, and long tables for the buffet.
http://static.flickr.com/108/255974714_bbeefa87a0.jpg
another view. Remember, there will be no long tables like this. to the left of the doorway (with the exit sign) will have a 2x4 foot table with the choco fountain/candy buffet will be.

ugg. i just wrote a huge long post about how i feel like bridezilla and my computer ate it....gaaaaaaaaaaah!
anyhoo, I found this game online for the bridal shower that requires a bag from a lingerie or "adult" store (more on the game tomorrow) . I tried going into Victoria's Secret, but I hate that store with a fiery burning passion (the salespeople are SO RUDE to people who are too big to wear their skanky underwear) so I couldn't do that, so Steve and I went to this adult store called the Pleasure Boutique tonight, to see if I could get a bag from them, or buy something small to get the bag..we were looking around, and I see my cousin (who is coming to the shower tomorrow) and her husband there! and I'm like OMG I don't want her to see me in this porno store! I also didn't want her to see me there because it would ruin the game. So anyway, we sneak out, and wait for them to leave, then go back in, and find out that their bags are plain black..we went to look at the toys and such, then the salesgirl yelled at me for having my purse in the store! So I quickly found a bag that said "X-rated Gift!" and bought it and left...thinking the whole time, I HOPE TO GAWD THAT MY COUSIN DIDN'T BUY ME ANYTHING AT THAT STORE! that I would have to open in front of my WHOLE family including my mother, my religious neighbor lady, my godmother, and my elderly Aunts. Oh geez. I am sooooooooo dreading it!
I was also upset that the store didn't have any lingerie in my size. I know I could go to Torrid or something, but still, it bugs me.
I am also bothered because every week I enter this stoopid photo contest on flickr, and every week I lose..and I shouldn't let it bug me.

Today we went shopping with my godmother, and bought a bunch of halloween **** (pumpkin carving POWER saws..freaking coolest thing everrrr) and she bought me a scrapbook cutter thingy at costco, so I made a bunch of thank you cards this evening. I made enuff for the bridal shower,so i'll write those out tomorrow, and then I get to start on the wedding ones. woo..hoo..

We didn't end up buying any lingerie... not ONE store had anything in my size that wasn't grandma-ish..not even torrid. We were told that must places only have plus size lingerie around Valentines day! the only thing we could find in my size was a flannel nightgown! I did get my wedding shoes. They are black, but they match the wedding theme pretty well, and they aren't going to show anyway. they wanted to buy me a "going away" outfit as well, but nothing was working. Oh well.

Godmother is going home tomorra, we just had dinner at Red Robin.. I had this Parmagiana Burger..it was freaaaaaking good (i got it with no tomato sauce...mater sauce on a BURGER? ew) We decided to look online for my lingerie. I am too find some and pick them out, and my Godmother will pay for it and have it shipped here. Cool! This is so my element...people buying me things..

so, as some know, I used to work for a portrait studio in the mall. I got sick (i think from the job) and had to quit when my medical leave was over. Anyway, about 15 people that I worked with then still work there, and of all of them, I only invited one girl (she's sweet, emailed me when i was sick, and the boys love her..) and the rest of the people found out and I guess one of the managers is really upset that I didn't invite her. She was rude to me when I was sick (steve had to call her once and tell her that I was on the way to the hosp in an ambulance, and she said that I HAD TO CALL HER..EVEN IF I WAS IN AN AMBULANCE...)
HalloweenBride
10-03-2006, 06:36 PM
and my friend that I invited sends me an email about how the manager had to do her job as a boss then, but she's still my friend and blah blah...and I say uh...i am not inviting people who treat me like that...it's such a mess.
ugg.

10-03-2006, 07:46 PM
Lauren,
Sorry about the mess. But, it is YOUR wedding. You get to invite whomever you darn well please. And I understand about the job making you sick. If I can go a day without either throwing up, or feeling like I have to throw up, I'd be in good shape.

10-04-2006, 10:03 AM
Well your boss should have been more sympathtic and frankly she dosen't sound like someone I would want at my wedding. Believe it or not one person can ruin your mood at the wedding so invite only thepeople you love, respect and want to share in the most important day of your life!!

so the boss that I posted about before? she got engaged last night, and sent me of all people, a text message about it, and I just texted back and said cool, congrats...now everyone i know is talking about it because she posted it on myspace. ugg. oh well. It was a really romantic proposal, and while mine was certainly very unique, it wasn't all roses and candles and stuff. I hope I get that one day anyway.
anywoo, mom and i went to walmart, and mom stated the my flower girl dress was "too hard" to make, so we ended up geting a leotard, and bunches of tulle to make a skirt, and some wicked cool wings, and tights and ballet slippers. Once I get it all made, I'll post a pic
also, there was a ton of wedding stuff on sale..we got place cards (80) for $1 ..and wedding lights, 2 sets of cute wine glasses for the wedding party, programs, cake set..all for $2 each...most of the things were $10-15 each to begin with!
On friday my aunt and cousins are coming over to do the centerpieces and stuff.
oooo it's coming up!!!

oh one more thing..today we got another RSVP..so we thought..someone sent back the RECEPTION card..with no name on it or anything...it was mailed in our city, so it has to be a family member or close friend! too funny

I found a bunch of wedding lingerie online, i'll post some here tomorrow
So, my MOH has been calling me for two days asking what I was going to be doing today, and I said, I dunno probably looking at apartments or something, and she says, oh ok. Today she calls again, and says she and bm Vivian are at the scrapbook store, and would I like to come? Steve was sleeping, and I was bored, so I grabbed my stuff that I was making TY cards with, and drove over there (i'm so lucky, my scrapbook store is like 2 min from my house) and when I get there, she's all like "I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE COMING!!!!!" and shoves a bunch of stuff off the table..it was bachlorette party invites, that I wasn't supposed to see..uhhh...YOU INVITED ME!!!! GAH!!
Tomorrow we are making the centerpieces and polymer clay decorations. I am also asking two of my male cousins to be ushers (a father and son). and on Saturday we are taking my dress to be bustled! I get to put in on!! I've only got to try it on twice.
What else? I need to make a list. I have so much c r a p to do instead of being on onewed! lol

We went to get my dress bustled earlier, and found out it's going to have to have a small hem, and she is going to put some darts in my jacket so it fits better. Mom took some pix, I will post them later along with the centerpieces. I got mad though because my mom said I was too fat :hothead: :hothead: :hothead: (not exact words) for my dress, and I said she KNEW that up until recently I wasn't able to diet! :icon_barbar: It turns out that my dress fits FINE, the seamstress figured out how to lace it, and then you can snap the modesty panel (it wasn't snapping, thats why she said i was too fat). ugg. I looked good though! it fit great. more later.

Seriously, I know my mom is stressed, but everything I do pisses her off, and trust me, my mom pissed off is NOT FUN. Yesterday we went to the craft store to get some more fall flowers (for the centerpieces, we have three left to do) and she hated every single flower or bouquet of flowers we saw. I mean, nitpicking on everything. The flowers there weren't alot different from the ones we already got (from Dollar Tree) but still, she hated them. We ended up buying some, but I was ready to pull my hair out by the time we left. gah. She also says I am too picky about my flowers?? All I want is Red Roses for me, white roses for my girls (I want my moh to have like half and half) red bout for stevie, white for his dudes. MOM wants some vases of roses at the ceremony location, that was her idea and I said FINE. I am not asking for any expensive floral or anything, just simple. I just want a simple wrapped bouquet with ribbon. That's it. nothing fancy, but now I am "picky" because I don't want a traditional one, or one with those stupid plastic holders with the lace. I hate those things. ugg
I have been having such a hard time sleeping lately. I hate it. I just took a hot baff and had some eggnog with a teeny bit of rum (i am such a wuss) so I hope I can sleep better tonight! night all!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/zoeblog/frankiecenterpiece.jpg
This is the Frankenstein couple I made for the sweetheart table centerpiece, but I think I am going to make some new ones with their arms wrapped around each other, and give him some hair, and make her look less like a witch. Not bad though for my first try!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/zoeblog/cake.jpg
Two dolla cake servers, left over ribbon and leaves! Cuuuuuuute!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/zoeblog/bell.jpg
ok, by the time I got to the bell, I was tired, and I didn't want him to mess it up, so I just tied a ribbon around it.
Now I just need to finish the bridal party glasses, and take a pic of the flower girl basket, then I can rest!
