After going to davids bridal I changed my colors from Ivory and Tiffany blue to Navy blue and light yellow. (Marine and Canary)

So now I am trying to figure out a theme to use with those colors, a texas wedding, and June.
Any ideas??

i'm doing very similar colors (navy n a muted gold) n there isn't MUCH of a theme (cept the whole asian thing thats forming but that doesn't go w/the colors so much...)
when i think of those colors i think celestial so perhaps u could do that kind of theme? u could also do a nautical theme or seaside...

I second the nautical theme! I just love it! My colors are blue and grey and we are going with more of a celestial theme or what i call "moonlight". But if I had a second choice it would have been nautical.

That nautical theme is beautiful.
Isn't the State flower of Texas a yellow flower? Could you incorporate that?

honnnney! HELLOOOO!!!
the yellow rose of texas?! where's your mind gone heehee?
yellow and red roses, or even tie in some bluebonnets(silk, of course ;) can't go around pickin those ;))
hmmmm.....how country are you going? cos i'm one of those "sophisticated rednex"
and it's easy to go from sophisticated, to bumpkin to trailer park lol....and it's easy to merge the above, unintentionally of course ;)
also, think tails and stetsons, bollero ties, belt buckles versus cummerbunds.....i attached a pic of what i call a REAL texas tux.....jeans, jacket, hat, bollero(or sheriff's tie), and i can't tell if he's wearing a buckle or not.....

the state flower of Texas is the BLUEBONNET and, no, you can't pick them but perhaps you could grow some in pots. They are beautiful but they typically bloom in April-ish so maybe they wouldn't work at all unless potting them would force them to a later date because YOU control the planting.
I like the idea of the celestial theme....OR...maybe 'Moonlight on the Beach'?? You could incorporate both. Boy, am I glad I'm doing Halloween (this year) and NYE (2010)...it doesn't take too much creativity there!
Best of luck...show us pics asap. :)

Hmmm do you really need a theme?
Some people just use their colors as their theme.
Or in our case, I selected one of FH's hobbies (golf) and incorporated into elements in the wedding.

i love the colors together. the first thing that i thought of was nautical themed too. the colors also remind me of a school uniform colors so you could do a "preppy- chic" wedding.

yes the BB is the STATE flower! BUUUT, the yellow rose is like an unofficial thing, since the spanish/mexico called "us" tejas, as in "friend"...and the yellow rose is a sign of friendship...heck, there's a country song tying the 2 together...
texasbride, have you thought of anything? like one said, you could just use the colors as the theme...or even go blue and copper with the yellow, as SO many texas "items" are copper/brass...

when you mention yellow and blue a nautical theme first came to mind but I like the idea of a celestial theme as well. can I ask why you had to change your colors after visiting David's Bridal?
