Today is Daughter #4's Birthday. We normally send a card and cash to arrive on the day. Due to outlay with moving etc. DH phoned her to explain the card will be a day late because we get paid on Fridays. Daughter was cool with this even though she is only 12. She is a total sweetie when it comes to understanding money stress etc.
This is the same daughter who said she didn't want much for Christmas so we could spend the extra on Grandson.

I was hoping to be out of work by 2.30PM which is the average time of finishing. Then get to the Post Office to send the card. Because staff didn't turn up for work. Instead of ten there were only five of us and 80 rooms to clean. We have a massive Indian Wedding booked in for this weekend. So it's been bedlam. :whyme:

DH has been getting home by 3PM all this week. So i phoned him to explain i wont be able to get to the Post Office in time. He totally went off the deep end.

Said things along the lines of "Oh, is EVERY room booked for tonight" as if he didn't believe i was at work. I explained it was the Wedding Weekend. We have known it was due for months now.

It probably didn't help to find my mobile phone battery was totally flat. And i had to get a charger from Reception just to phone him. Turned out he had been phoning me all day. To find the phone off. So now he might be thinking i've turned it off on purpose.

I finally got out of work at 5.15PM and raced out of the car park like a Formula One Racing Driver. Only to get caught in rush hour traffic. Then missed the Post Office completely.

Got home to find DH with a face like a smacked ***. And the look of "Where the heck have you been".

After all that. He let slip that he had managed to send the card. And hopefully it will be there by Monday at the latest.

So there was me at work. Slaving like an idiot over other peoples ****. Trying to get done and out. And all along DH had done it himself.

MEN. Can't live with em, Can't live without them. :bbeek:

I have never heard that expression before, but trust me, everyone I come into contact with tonight will hear it!:rofl:

Give DH a day or too, and he will be kissing yours. After he beats his chest a bit more and gets the caveman routine over with.

Sorry it was a frustrating day, and your DH was more agitated than helpful.. But it made me chuckle to read this because FH and I are the same way

But, we both do it. I'll call him 100 x while I'm on the road to get the information to pay the Power Bill, since it comes with a "code" to pay online and on the phone, and they won't tell you when you go to pay how much it is - and he likes to estimate, which resulted in me paying $15 under one time.. Which was fine, the power company here just added the $15 onto the next bill, no credit reporting or anything, but still! So, I'll ask him to give me the info and he's always "Not right now, I just want to relax." WHAT? The mail basket is 10 feet away from you! Grab it read me the numbers, and you won't have to even think about it for another month!!

However, when at home - I like to pay everything online, which means I have to go to his moms house to get online. So, if I'm expecting another bill that week - I'll just wait until the end of the week to pay everything at once. One big online-bill-paying session. He HATES that. He likes to get things paid right then.. (..when I'm at home at least). We get so frustrated with each other - but it never lasts long :)

Is that your first argument like that? If so, you two are doing great! :)

Hope he grows up and apologizes.. that would be very frustrating indeed!

First one since the Wedding. So in the grand scheme of things i shouldn't be too worried. Was just frustrated about having the feeling of rushing around when it was done all along.

First argument since October 2008?? That's impressive to me!
