View Full Version : AAhhhh... fire alarm test!

Our maintenance manager just did the rounds through the whole building and yells to everyone "Fire alarm test! You do not have to evacuate!". 1 minute later the fire alarm goes off.. and it's been going for about 2 minutes. It's LOUD!!!! A high shrill vibrating beeping that is ear piercing! UGGGGG!

Well, at least we know that in the event of a fire, we're not going to sleep through that one :rofl:

Ha ha! That's true! I think you should all be excused and go get coffee or early lunch! I would consider that a work hazard!

They told us we could go outside if we wanted to - so we waited out the alarm outside, then went to break. So really, Matt and I got an extended break LOL.

The alarm beeped for about 8 minutes :urgh:

Ohhh, I know the annoyance of that. They sometimes do security alarm tests at my work and leave it going for quite awhile. It's the same loud, annoying shreeky noise.

Ack! One of my biggest pet peeves is repetitive noise. I can't stand alarms! :irked: Hopefully it was over quickly! :)

We test ours every Monday at 10am. Lucky enough i don't work Mondays.

But i have had it go off right above my head. I took off like a Harrier Jump Jet and headed towards the nearest fire exit. We have to clear the corridoor en-route. So if there is a fire and it fills with smoke. There are no obstacles in the way.

(When i reality if the place was on fire. We would stuff the trolleys and run LOL).

Fire Engines turned up. All us Females had a good look. :winktongue:

Turned out to be the Air Freshner i had just sprayed that set it off. :bbeek:

Mitch, you just had me disturbing the whole office :rofl: I didn't see that rolling laughter hit me till it was too late LOL. :rofl:

Wow, they've never done this in my apartment.. lol! Then again, i dunno the last time i saw my manager guy.. =/
