It's not your typical kind of wedding dress. Actually, I found it in an antique shop. Even though I didn't have time to try it on (and we weren't even engaged yet!), I knew that this was MY dress. Hugh told me that if it was meant to be it would be there when I went back to the shop (which was 5 hours away!). I called the owner about a year later and it was still in the shop! These are the pics the owner took and sent to me.

You could set up a poll, probably in either the dress or poll sections. They are all similiar in style, have you tried them on? Sometimes that is the tie breaker. I am personally torn bet. the second and third ones. They are all beautiful though.

Mine didn't have the corset back, as they didn't make one with the corset back when I bought mine. I even like the corset style a little better. I was very happy with the service and they do have a return policy, just read it carefully. You only have 3 days to return it (including the day you receive it).

My dress is going to be like this, the only change I had them make was adjust the neckline to sit a little higher.

Its a bit hard to see the style but its very fitted through the bodice and hips then mid thigh it flows out to a more full skirt (it's not mermaid though, its a very subtle change from fitted to full).
I'll post pics of my actual dress when it's finished being made :)

I would suggest an updo...and u look a bit shorter so a high tiara to give height!!.....

you could add soroskis to the top part of your gown if u want to do more...

Thanks ladies..It will look better in the front once it is altered. The space cadet dress shop owner told me to order a 14..it's two sizes to big! I lost a little weight between the time I ordered and the time I actually got my dress but not that much! Anyhow, she also said she ordered a petite. It's not a petite, so therefore I have to have some major alterations..My seamstress told me that by pulling up and altering the halter straps it will look much better. Then its just a few tucks here and there! I start my alterations on the 28th..I can't wait!! I'm also having some more crinoline added to my under skirt too, to help with the length!

I still love the dress; and there are times when I wish I had just gone with a capped sleeve or short sleeve, which I almost did but since we were getting married at the time in Dec, I didn't want to have to find some sort of wrap to go with it. Even in Georgia it can get cold. I should have had the lady that was doing the alterations cut the sleeves off, but it would have made for a lot of work with all the bead work it had. I was going to borrow my sisters dress, but it just didn't fit even thought we are only a size or two diffrent in the waist, well back then were were. Now we are the same size LOL!!! The dress was pretty in style nine years ago when I bought it. I should have had them hem it too, as even with the three inch heels I had, it was still too long on me.

Yes!!! I'm going to wear the earrings I got in the set, just not wear the necklace.. and the tiara in my updo :) I haven't got to try the dress with the jewelry yet, but I'm pretty sure that's the way I'm going. I gotta take it with me when I go to the tailor to pick the dress up. Hopefully I can get my mom to go with me :)

No. I am keeping the same ones in. It just looks like we added some because she pinned it to keep it off the floor. My dress is one of a kind. Redesigned by the seamstress.

That IS a good deal :happy: And your dress is gorgeous. I've seen women wear that dress - or a very similar dress - for their wedding. It's fabulous!

That is soooo true! I saw almost my exact dress as a white BM dress (it had embroidery instead of beading and no train, but seriously, if I knew about it, I would have bought it)... they were asking only $200 for it! I spent $550 on mine! :bbeek:

Oh well, my dress does look fabulous, even if I spent too much on it.

Well just between us. It's a bridesmaid dress it's not even a wedding dress and I think that's why I don't like it. I don't know maybe when it comes in I will be more thrilled with it

The dress i'm wearing for my wedding is a full length Black Prom dress.

Can't get further away from a traditional wedding dress if i tried.

I personally don't go for "Labels". It's how it makes you feel when you are wearing it.

Your Groom will look lovingly into your eyes on the day and all negative thoughts about what the dress was sold as will melt away.

Thank you everyone!! I really feel alot better about it! Now I am going to get in the shower because WE are going to get our invitations (they are done) and order our cake!! I can't wait! And WE is capital because he hasn't helped with anything! And he had to makethe phone call to make the appointment for the cake so i am so excited that he will be joining me LOL I prolly wont let him decide anything but atleast he will be there with me....
