so, i havent posted in a long time because we've put plans on hold, alot has gone on, and my orginal colors where pink and brown, now im thinking about scratching all of that compleatly.
now im thinking about a black and white theme, my flowers will still be light pink lilys with the white stephnotis (sp) i still want to encorporate silver stars in the theme too, i think it would look elegant but im having trouble looking for inspiration photo.
also, my fiance's consern was that it would be too much black in the attire, becuase he likes the idea of a black tie party type of thing, where the guest wear nice suits and little black dresses, he loves theat idea, but i personally thing there would be too much black, what do you guys think?
I think it's a great idea! My wedding was black and white with a hint of blue, with yellow and white flowers. I think black and white with a hint of pink would be gorgeous!! My girls and hubby's guys wore black with blue sashes/vests, table linens were black, etc. I think it'd be beautiful.
However, I don't think asking the guests to wear black would be a good idea... just my twocents :)

I agree here for sure. I think it's one thing to say "black tie" if it's a formal occasion but it's another to ask the guests to wear a particular color. If they don't already own something suitable in the proper color it may be a hardship on them. Just somthing to think about...:winktongue:

I think black and white weddings are stunning. I think if you put Black Tie on the invitations, most people will dress appropriately, but I think it is up to your guests what to wear. I think you could have fun with adding the silver starts, and put tiny touches of silver and light pink at the receptions. You could see if you can use silver chargers under the plates, and light pink candles or ribons around the napkins. That way you tie everything together. Black and white chair covers. Sorry, I just think that is so sharp! It will be absolutely elegant!

This would look more elegant with black "ribbon", but I still like it

Everyone who came to our Wedding knew i was wearing a Red Wedding Dress. As it turned out, a majority of our guests wore Black, White and a little Red. Although i did ban DH's Daughters from wearing anything with Red in.
I admit at first, when i saw people wearing Red it did upset me a tadge. But in the end it looked good in what few photos we had.
Looking back. I sometimes wish i had DH's Four Daughters in Black dresses. None of them were BM's. But it would have looked good. :winktongue:

well, maybe if ya'll renew your vows, ask them to wear red, and you can wear black next time ;)
ladies, i had photoscape on my computer, and was able to create inspiration boards, by going under the part where you make photo collages....

I'm planning on a black, white, and silver themed wedding (very contemporary and modern in style). I'm really excited. I think FH is going to wear a black tux with silver embellishments and my BMs will have silver dresses with black trim. I'm also looking for a dress with a few black embellishments. My mom is making our cake and is going to be throwing in some black and silver into that, but keeping it mostly white. I'm really excited!

I have always been a fan of black and white themes for a wedding...very edgy and chic. You also have the ability to choose almost any color as accents, I particularly am fond of a royal purple or blue, gold, silver, or red (even though it has an 80's flair!). Have fun with it, but if you aren't having a Spring/summer wedding pink may not be the best option.

You can not go wrong with black and white. That is always traditional and you won't look back at your wedding pictures 20 years from now and ask what was I thinking. A black tux, white shirt, and silver tie and vest is a great combination for the guys and it would be easy to coordinate with the bridesmaids.
As far as your guests I would put black and white in the invitation if thats what you want. Almost everyone has something in black or white in their closet so I don't think its too much to ask.

There's nothing wrong with being unique. A lot of couples here in the Philippines did that and it was wonderful.

Black and white weddings are traditionally one of the most formal weddings you can have. Make sure that everything is classy and elegant. White tableclothes, black bows on the chair backs or black chair covers.

My wedding was black and white and very informal, and it still turned out fantastic. There's no rule that says a black and white wedding has to be formal :)

I think black & white weddings are gorgeous! My friend used those colors and everything turned out beautifully. She had BM's in black dresses, with a mixture of red, white, and black flowers. It looked really pretty! Not to mention it would be so much easier using basic colors like that. It's hard to buy things in the right shade of your colors sometimes. I'm having a terrible time with burgundy and often wish I would've went with black & white instead!
