So, we rented a townhouse starting April 1. DH has lived here since then and I moved in after the wedding. So far, we have had problems with our faucets spraying out all crazy that we've fixed ourselves, the washing machine was leaking water all over the floor (and it's a second story laundry) and that was replaced, then the dryer wouldn't dry clothes so we had two different attempts at cleaning the vent out, still didn't work, and we finally got a new dryer a couple of weeks ago. Guess what--it's still not venting properly, and you still have to run it at least two cycles to dry anything!

So today I was at my mom's all day and I picked DH up at the train after work.. we got home to find water dripping from our downstairs bathroom ceiling, right underneath the laundry room. Rushed upstairs and there is no visible leak in there, and we can only assume it's in a pipe between the two levels. Our landlord is in China and we've been talking back and forth with him but no one is sure how to handle this so for now we have garbage cans catching the water and the power turned off to the bathroom, as the leak is right by the ceiling fan.

I am so fed up with this place...everything is original to the house from like, 1985, and it's like it's all just crapping up at once, and DH and I get the chore of dealing with it while it's broken. By the time our landlord moves back in next spring it'll be a **** new house, the way we're going.

I just keep thinking that this has to be it, and then something else happens. I think we should ask the landlord if we can sever the lease early--I figure the worst that will happen is he says no, but DH is leery of doing that, especially before we have somewhere else to go.

Losing my mind...

Ouch. That kind of household stuff drives me absolutely batty. :bbeek: I really hope that this current leak is the last of this madness and that you all can get your landlord to help you get it fixed ASAP! That is just waaaay too many problems in 3 months! Yikes!

So the guy came to day, looked at it, and said he'll come back tomorrow morning and start working on it. There go my plans for tomorrow... then he said he'll probably have to come Saturday too. I have to go to the eye doctor Saturday and I need DH there to help with insurance stuff... so this guy is going to have to wait. I just hope the leak doesn't get worse in the meantime. Ugh.

Dontchya hate that crap? I hope they get it all taken care of without too much of an inconvenience to you. I'd be actively searching for somewhere else. How long is the lease?
