I pay on time. I pay more than the minimum. But Chase has apparently canceled my card because they can. I don't know if they're supposed to be able to, but they sure as heck are.
While my account still shows online, I've read other stories of people who have accounts still listed online, but when they call and talk to a rep are informed that it has been canceled and a snail-mail letter is on the way "explaining it." Thanks a bunch, jerkfaces. I'm about to go to a wedding, so I really appreciate you hitting me with this as I'm trying to book a hotel.
So if any of you ladies have Chase cards, watch out. I got nervous when I saw a story about a guy with student loans who was declared a "credit risk" and has his accounts canceled. Seems like a crappy deal to me, but that's the credit system. It's designed against you. You can't win. You can't even break even. I tried to do right (I had less than half of my pretty small credit limit in use) but it doesn't really matter.:icon_barbar:I have one other credit card from Capital One, but it's gonna be tight. I'll make it. I'll get over it, and bid a fond farewell when I pay off my Chase card that I can apparently no longer use. No I'm just really frustrated. http://blogs.wsj.com/wallet/2009/07/15/can-a-credit-card-company-cancel-your-card-and-not-tell-you/
