I just caught this show for the first time the other night. It is on BBC. (British Broadcasting Chanel) The premise of the show is that the groom and bride are separated for a total of about 4 weeks, and the GROOM plans the wedding while the bride knows none of the details.
He does all of the planning, down to her wedding attire. I have seen two episodes, and the first the bride was pretty bitter about the whole thing, hated the dress he picked out, hated the invitations, the whole bit. The second, the bride LOVED everything the groom chose. The Bride doesn't get to know anything until a few days before the wedding when she is allowed to try on her dress.
Personally, I think it is the sweetest thing EVER. Of course, I never had that dream wedding pictured in my mind, so I think as long as he planned the wedding with his heart, I would be ecstatic that he would go to all the work.
Anyone else see this show?

I've never seen this, but it sounds great. I think I would be willing to sign up for something like that, but FH probably wouldnt lol. We have very similiar tastes so I think I would be pretty happy with whatever he picked out, like you I never had a "dream wedding" all picked out either, so I guess there are no standards to uphold.

lol that sounds cool! i don't think i get BBC, i need to check my guide ;)
if fh would actually do it, i think i'd be perfectly fine with it! as for dream weddings, i don't have one really.....but fh has a feminine side that he gets "in touch with" occassionally, so i imagine it'd probably turn out to be fantastic either way :o
i really need to look that up!

I think that sounds so sweet. My opinion on it is that if you are getting married then you should know pretty much everything about each other and he should know what type of stuff that you both agree on and what type of dress you would absolutely love. Either way I think it's a great idea! I'll have to check it out if I get BBC.

I've never heard of this show! It sounds really cool though. I have to say, were DH to have picked out stuff for our wedding, I would have rolled with whatever it was. I've said it before and I'll say it again - the only thing I cared was that he showed up! :winktongue:

Our PBS station (which broadcasts to both Buffalo, NY, USA and Toronto, ON, Canada) plays a lot of British dramas on it. We don't have cable, so we don't get BBC or CBC but I still feel like I get a lot of Britishness on television :)
I don't think I'd do too well on this show. FH and I have *very* different sense of aesthetics and we've needed to be in open communication and compromising the whole time (as with our apartment, etc). I mean, I know he'd pick a dress that I'd like... to be nice to me, not because he would like it himself ;)

Sounds interesting, but I'd never be able to not see my FH for more than a three days. Much less a month! Haha. I'm so used to having him around, I wouldn't know what to do with myself!
Besides, I don't know if I could trust FH with my gown of all things. :)
I have either seen this show or a version of it. I like the whole idea cuz it's FREE for the bride and groom ~ HA!! However, FH would probably have us getting married at a Renaissance Festival with Star Trek music in the background!! :geek:

I love that. Rick would probably have me walk down the aisle to some rap song.

WOW!! What an interesting idea for a show!! :-) Now my guy doesn't have fashion sense nor a clue about what women want but I still love him nonetheless and if he was down for trying to pick out what he thinks I would like, I would love a wedding like that. Again though, not the greatest sense of fashion but what a kind and caring heart does he have!! He'd do anything to make me happy. :) And hell, he would order me a size 4 dress- he thinks I'm a skinny minnie when really, that's not the case. ;-) LOL!!
