Is anyone else watching this show on MTV? I'm hooked, probably because I'm preggers. I think I've caught all the episodes, and for the most part, it seems the boyfriends on this show are all LOSERS!! Very controlling and selfish, to say the least.
The only reason I'm posting is because I saw this week's episode, "Catelynn," where this couple from MI actually made the mature decision to give their baby up for adoption. I was crying for practically the whole episode, but I was soooo surprised at how mature and realistic these kids were. They both were from questionable families and were not prepared at all to raise their baby. I was sooo happy they stuck to their guns even though both of their parents were against it. And the adoptive parents were so great throughout the whole episode. I think this episode redeemed the whole series in my eyes, even though I was getting so ticked off at these boys in every other episode!!
I'm excited to see this Wednesday's episode because it's a reunion of all of the kids to see where/what they are doing these days and they all bring their babies. But the best part is that these adoptive parents are bringing their baby girl to visit her biological parents.

I LOVE this show (not because I'm pregnant, but because I can't wait to be!). And I totally agree about the deadbeat boyfriend thing. I haven't seen the adoption one yet, but the only decent boyfriend I saw was the couple who had the baby named Leah. I've seen the Leah episode at least four times, and I cry every time the guy proposes. Haha. I'm so lame.

I too am obsesed with this show. My DH laughs at me when i watch it. I saw the episode today where they put the baby up for adoption and I too cried. I thought it was funny I was crying, I NEVER cry at movies or tv shows. Must be the pregnancy hormones. LOL!

My FH makes fun of me when I watch this too! He also thinks it's putting too many baby ideas in my head...

The one where the guy proposed was also a hair better than the other episodes (minus the adoption one)... but that guy went out and bought a new PS3 and THEN went to Wal-mart to pick out a TWENTY dollar ring. Ok, ok, I know the dollar amount shouldn't matter, but puh-lease! At least he could've spent the same amount that he did on the gaming system! And then to ask the sales clerk what the return policy was?!? OMG!!!

I WISH I was like that... I've always been a cryer! The Folger's coffee commercial at Christmas where the boy comes home from college gets me every season! Hallmark commercials, movies, songs on the radio... it's really bad!

I cry at everything too.
And about the ring. I thought about the price and thought maybe they gave him a store gift card when he returned the PS3, so maybe he just went twenty dollars over the amount of the gift card. At least I hope that's what happened.

I have seen this show a few times. I agree with all you ladies about the boys, (which they are still boys) but I think that's a good thing. Maybe some other 16 year old somewhere will watch this and realize that it's not so easy, and that the boys generally leave the girls to all the responsibilities.
I am just thankful that they don't glamorize teen pregnancy.
**I am not trying to cast stones, my sister was a mom at 16 and a darn good one, I am just saying that I don't think it's necessarily the best thing at that age.

I love this show as well! Not because I'm pregnant, but because I too can't wait to be a mom. I'm actually watching it right now. It's the one with the girl Farrah, whose going to be a single mom. For some reason, I love this episode.
I too agree with the boyfriends being dead beats. The first episode boyfriend really made me mad, how he wouldn't help with the baby so the mom could do her schoolwork. Oh! And how he he wanted her to get out of the car to check and see if he had a flat. And she told him it was hard for her to do that. And he told her she was just pregnant, not helpless. Or something like that. I told FH he better not ever say that to me LOL

I starting watching this show too but only when Jon isn't home. He is super worried about having a girl and having to fight off the boys. He has a silly moto: When you have a boy you only have one penis to worry about, when you have a girl you have many ..." Anyways, back to the topic. I am so addicted to this show. I cried like a baby through the Catelynn and Tyler show. It really is amazing to see such maturity from such young people. I am really looking forward to this week's show too.

Hopefully, if you have a girl, you'll be in an area where the parents taught their boys to respect women, and then that won't be such a problem. :)
I haven't seen the show. I don't have cable.

Yea I hear that! I feel like no matter what we have we will do a good job at educating them if they are going to have sex to do it safely.

Tell him that's not the case if the boy is gay. :o Although the pregnancy threat is a lot less that way.....sorry, but that saying bugs me a little. So the boy can sleep with everyone? Haha anyway, I think you'll be fine. Especially since it sounds like you're going to raise kids of any sex to be safe and have strong self-esteem.
And oh Catelynn made me cry so much. When she gave birth and didn't want to look at it-oh my. It seemed ironic that the most mature couple was the one couple that gave their baby up. I mean, I think the environment was bad, but if they had a few more resources, they would have been good parents.
Catelynn's mom infuriated me. She was evil. Refusing to sign the papers and prolonging things? Ugh.

That is very true. He is just worried that boys will take advantage of his daughter. Usually you don't have to worry about a boy being taken advantage of. Going back to what Christine said, not all parents educate their boys to respect woman. Sorry if you were offended by my post.

I'm soooo addicted to this show!! I think it is a good series for MTV, just because some teens don't know what it takes to live on their own and support themselves much less be responsible for another human being.
The one episode where the mom slapped the daughter shocked the heck out of me!! What a b*tch!!!!
The one where the guy proposed was also a hair better than the other episodes (minus the adoption one)... but that guy went out and bought a new PS3 and THEN went to Wal-mart to pick out a TWENTY dollar ring. OMG!!! My jaw dropped when he bought that ring!!! I couldn't believe it!

i just am catching up on a bunch of posts... but yah..i wanted to comment on the guy who bought the ring... unfortunatley, the case was not the "credit" system.. on the reuinion, when dr drew asked his response was "she likes flashy things and this is the she wanted" - i think that scene is priceless though in the show where the clerks face just drops when he refers to it as "bling bling" - hmm

I haven't watched last night's yet, but there was a marathon on sunday and I caught up on a bunch (and rewatched a few!). I love Teen Mom also! I feel so bad for some of these girls. Others, I can't believe they (a) talk to their mothers like they do, and (b) put up with these immature boys!
