Do you have any ideas of what you want? Any locations in general that you are interested in?

My suggestion to you is start looking at vendors. Book your ceremony & reception sites as soon as you can and then move on to your caterer, photographer, officiant, and DJ. Those are the most imporant things...I wouldn't worry so much about decor and such until you have those things figured out for sure.

I agree...start with location for the ceremony and reception, and then get your caterer...also, if you have time, get a planning book or two...I recommned "How to 'I do': Planning a Wedding in Six Weekends or less"

My friend let me borrow that one, and it'd be useful in your situation! Good luck!

Is there a reason you haven't told your family?

I was wondering the same thing Shawna!!! When do you plan to announce the wedding to your family?

Is there a reason you haven't told your family?

Ok....is there a reason you havent told your family? Will this affect you being able to have your ceremony on your land?
You need to get a definite guest number together since your invitations will need to go out next month. This will also help you when trying to pick venues.
Good Luck!!! And congrats!!!

Welcome to OneWed! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I think the first thing you need to start with is telling your family. Then the venue is the next item that should come up on the agenda. Again, welcome. Ask any questions on any specifics you have. We'll try to help out as much as we can. Again, welcome!

Welcome and congrats! For starters, I would tell your family and then go from there. Things will be much easier if they are out in the open and you have some support from your family.
