DH and I closed on our house yesterday!!! It's just a small 3 bedroom ranch. We have neighbors on both sides but behind is trees and a ravine and in front of us all we see is corn & bean fields & will be able to watch the sun set. :)

The house needs siding and a new roof and we are going to update the inside when we have the time. The inside is pretty decent but some walls have panelling & tiled ceilings so we'll just update it so it doesn't look so out-dated. It has a big backyard, which the dogs will love! Its much nicer than my rental house and our mortgage payment is $100 cheaper than my rent payment!! So yay! :)

Anyway, we closed on the house yesterday afternoon. We originally planned on moving this weekend but we were really excited so we decided to move Tuesday. Well...the forecast called for rain today and we were super excited to get out of our rental house so we ended up moving last night!!! DH's mom, brother & our neighbors (the ones we are leaving behind *sob* ) helped us.

Sorry I don't have any pics right now! But I will get some when I get the camera unpacked!!

There must be something in the air. Loads of people here have moved or are moving house. Me included.

Your new home sounds idyllic. Can't wait to see photos.

Well I packed my camera so I didn't get pics of an empty house but I'll see what I can do!

As for projects, we have a few! I guess that is to be expected when you buy a cheap house!

DH did his very first project yesterday! He put up a ceiling fan in our bedroom and since we are so lazy and lay in bed every night arguing over who gets to go shut off the light, he installed a remote control thingy in the fan so we can use a remote to turn off the light. :)

Oh and he also hung up some wall hangings and frames for me. Its already starting to look like a home. It's still a disaster with all the boxes and stuff but at least its a homey disaster! :D

These are the other projects we need to tackle:
1.We need to put on siding & shingles but we probably won't have the money for awhile so we are just going to paint the exterior for now so it doesn't look run down.

2. We are going to drywall the ceilings. It currently has ceiling tile which is really outdated. So we plan to go from room to room and get rid of the tile & at that point we will paint the walls.

3. However, since DH has no idea when he'll tackle that project, he's agreed to let me paint 1 room in the living room as an accent wall and a couple of walls in other rooms to help make it more homey & decorated. I'm really itching to paint so he threw me a bone to tide me over! LOL

4. We also would like to replace the kitchen cabinets. I just don't like the ones that are in there. They are older and just not my style.

Luckily the bathroom is recently remodeled so we don't have to do anything in there!

Congratulations on your new home! It is amazing what just a little paint and having your stuff in a house can do to make it feel like home! Be sure to take before and after pictures if you can!
