:( So after my piano lesson last night I went to go get in the car, and I swallowed and it hurt. One second it didn't hurt, then it did. So I went home took some meds and went to bed. Well I woke up with a 102.1 fever and I feel like when I move my head my brain sloshes around. My throat still hurts too.

We have been down here a year now, but haven't needed to go to the doctor, so I'm on here at my insurance website finding doctors that accept our insurance. Sadly none of them open until 8:30! So I gotta wait another hour to even make an appointment - hopefully I can find someone who can get me in this morning. I hate going to a new doctor.

My fever isn't quite as high now, it keeps changing between 100-102. I hope I don't have strep bleh.

I hate calling in on Fridays as well - I feel like they think I am faking.

Any of you have to find a new doctor lately?

Awww. Sorry you're sick! Hopefully they'll be able to get you in today and get you some meds!

I have an appointment in a week to see my new primary doctor. My insurance switched doctors on me, and I've only been to the ER since I got the letter informing me. It took me 2 weeks to get an appointment with him, but that's the naval hospital for you. :whyme:

Hope your Dr appt goes well and you feel better soon!

I have Kaiser and had seen the same Dr for years and liked her. Then I get a notice that she no longer works with Kaiser and I have to choose a new PCP. Ugh, so the first one I saw I didn't like, then found one that seemed pretty good. But now she is on maternity leave so if I have to see someone in the next couple of months I am not sure who I would end up with.

The same thing happened with my Gyno at Kaiser; saw the same one for a few years and was comfortable with her then she isn't there anymore. I had to see a "floater" this last time because she was the only female MD available at the time. I don't know what is gonna happen next year.

OK, enough about me; feel better!

I hope you feel better soon!!

My DH and I just got an insurance plan through my work and NONE of the doctors in our county are in the insurance company's network so we have to find a new family doctor. The closest town that has clinics that accept our insurance is 30 minutes away and when we decide to have a baby, I'll have to drive an hour for an OB-GYN. It kind stinks because I like my family doctor and I hate that we have to drive so far to find doctors that are in the network. But I'm just glad that I have free insurance!!! It will save us a lot of money in the longrun.

Ugh, we have had our insurance together for over a year and the only doctor type that I've gone to on it is a chiropractor. We need to go to the dentist and several other things. I hate finding a new doctor! Did you make it to the doctor yesterday?

Sorry I wasn't on much, because I of course wasn't feeling very well :)

I am feeling mostly better, just kind of congested now. I have no clue what kind virus I caught. Friday I had a fever all of the way up to 103 something. I called 6-7 doctors, and either they don't take new patients on Friday's, or they had no appointments. I was getting so worn out just from calling that I had to lay down - so I didn't call any more. (DH was at work, he did come to check on me though). I would have gone to urgent care, except I really don't think I could have driven myself there lol. So I just laid with a cold wash cloth on me, and took some tylenol.

Well ended up just going to publix and getting me some soup and sherbet instead of urgent care, and that helped a TON. I was still sick all Saturday though with no fever this time though. And I was starting to think I had an ear infection. Then yesterday I mostly was just nauseous and my throat hurt. Finally last night I started to feel better.

Just so odd to me haha. Oh and the whole time the top of my neck in the back right near my skull was so sore, almost like I needed to strech it. But that is gone now too. If the symptoms come back though I am certainly going to urgent care, but I think it is gone.

Oh well, weird - but at least I feel mostly better now, just carrying some tissues with me :)

I hate that - you're all sick and a doctor won't accept a new patient...so frustrating. Last time I really needed one I did the same thing you did - gave up!

*I think this is a note to us that we need to look for a doctor when we're well...LOL*

Glad you feel better!! :)

Jacklynn, I'd recommend going to a doctor anyway, asap. What you're describing sounds a lot like meningitis. I'm not trying to freak you out, but I still think you should get in and at least get tested for whatever it is you have. This isn't something to mess with, even if you are feeling a bit better.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling somewhat better!

Justina, I actually was worried about meningitis - but I did have a meningitis shot about 4 years ago (I think they last 5?) and now I am about 98% better. I have nothing wrong with me other than a runny nose/slight cough.

The thing that made me think it could be meningitis was because of my neck, and that has 100% went away. I think my lymph nodes back there were swollen that day. If it was bacterial meningitis I'd either be so out of it by now, or frankly dead without treatment. I'm pretty sure I had some weird virus thing. There are a ton of people sick at work now, so something has got to be going around.

Thanks though, I certainly originally thought the same thing! Which made me upset, haha not because I cared if I had meningitis (well I would have cared of course lol) but because it would probably have messed up our TTC plans for next month hahaha

Well, I'm glad the neck pains went away! Meningitis is a sore subject for me, so I've turned into a worry wort.

Glad to hear you're still shooting for next month!!!
