I have found it so amazing that everyone has these great expeiriences with bridal shops. I wish I did. I've had three appointments with Davids Bridal but when i get there they never have anyone to help me, or they say that even though i had an apointment that i need to reschedule. i've been to five other bridal stores where no one even came up and asked if I needed help. The biggest problem is is that i have tattoos and yes i plan on covering up everysingle one for the wedding. I would like to try on dresses but seeing as how I can't get helped anyone know a good and trusted website to order from?

I am sorry you are having trouble with local bridal shops. Do you really think it is because of your tattoos? Have you tried covering them and going in that way sort of under cover?

If you feel you are treated differently because of your appearance, I would complain to the store manager and the district manager; you can't treat people like that. Your money should be just as good as anyone elses'!

:goodluck:

As for online shops; I have no personal experiences, but you could search the OneWed.com database; I know there are a few listed there :)

Well some people will judge you because of that too. It is more common at fancy boutiques, but it is still not right regardless of where you go. DB is a national chain and suppose to be something for everybody. If you don't get adequate service there I would complain, even if you don't go back, they shouldn't be allowed to get away with poor customer service; regardless of what you might look like or dress like.

Are there no other DB's local to you that you could try; no other local bridal shops? Maybe you could look into having your dress made for you.

If you are set on buying online, there are plenty of sites out there to do so. I know several people here have gotten their dress online, I just don't remember where exactly.

Went shopping agian yesterday. this time i wore a dress and tattoos were covered. but i think i've finally gotten to the root of the problem all the girls that work there went to high school with me. I asked to speak to the manager and they said she wasn't there. So i just said thank you politely and walked away. So we went to the mall were a little brand new bridal boutiqe just opened two weeks ago. i didn't know it existed. But the two ladies in the store were so fantastic and helpful. So now i know where i'm getting my dress and i've sent the ladies a thank you note to let them know how much i appreciated their help. And thank you for replying and giving me ideas.

That's great that you found a dress! :) I had a few hit and misses with bridal boutiques myself. Mainly because I look about half my age. lol

I ordered my dress online, but only after I tried it on in store, mainly because it was cheaper. If you're still interested in online, I can give you the name of the one I went with. :)

I saw on another thread you got your dress, its beautiful! I just wanted to add on here I have the same problems with bridal shops and to be honest antique stores and such. When I go out, you can't see my tattoos, I do wear jeans but usually a nice top. I have even gotten all dolled up with makeup and such. I don't look 32 but I wonder what age is the age to do these things? I mean it really urks me that they can't help me with questions I have but they can fallow me around to make sure I don't lift anything! What makes things worse is despite my looks I have the money to buy what ever it may be I'm looking at! Good news is I am well spoken and I am getting married in WI so most things are done online. But to be honest, I don't want to buy my dress that way because I have herd wedding dress sizes don't run the same and I have no chest... So congrats on the dress! Fingers crossed for me!

It still irks me that in this day and time lot's of women have tattoos. Ya i would definatley try to find a place that will help you with finding a dress. I went several different places. Found one and the lady was wonderful. So i showed the dress to my grandma who told me it was the ugliest thing she had ever seen and that she had money and i was going to go and purchase a new dress that looked like a wedding dress and not something a bridesmaid would wear. So i did and i'm much happier with the new one. I got it at a davids bridal store just not the one closest too me. and they were very nice. but i went first thing when they opened on a tuesday morning. and I was the only person in there other than my moh. I've never had a problem with antique stores though. The older the lady is for some reason they arent' bothered by me, its mainly the ladies that are the same age as me. I don't get it. But i wish everyone the best of luck.

most bridal shops require an appointment so you can have dedicated consultant. You usually can't walk in and expect help cause most consultants are busy with other brides.

David's Bridal has lots of ****ty reviews so I am not surprised really of your bad experience.

Yes, I agree with you, If it's me, I will check their contact infomation via website and complain to the store manager, VP or anyone who take charge of Davide's...

It's really bad impression for this brand, as I like their dresses very much...I do not know that their service is such bad!!:hothead:

Yup! I think that may be common... I don't know about the other ladies here- but the first time I went to Davids Bridal, I went with my Sister. I had just gotten out of class so I was in Jeans and a hoodie- and she had dressed up cause she figured I would... and they asked her if she needed any help looking at wedding gowns!! She's younger than me! And I'm only 19! haha... But yeah :) I had some trouble @ DB as well; and eventually ordered my gown off an ebay bridal store (from the US), who had a store in real life as well; and had tons of good reviews! It came a week later after I bought it, brand new, with tags, $700 (yes, seven!) cheaper than in the store! It even had the clearance/sales marked down tags still on it... Works for me :)

Anywhos- I'm glad as well that you found a place that treats you right! I'd also recommend still complaining at DBs, I did because the couple times I did get someone to help, i'd go change into a gown and came out and they were gone and couldn't find them to help! But yeah- they ended up offering for a discount on my gown or something else from there.... might be worth it!

:)
