I love this idea!! Has anyone done it?? Would the dye rub off on the inside of the dress?? Would it show through the skirt??

I love this idea too! There have been a couple girls in the past do this ... I think Mitch used spray paint on hers ;)

I was going to dye mine but I was afraid the red that I was going to dye it wouldn't match my red shoes. I was also scared that it would be WAY too much red even if it did match my shoes. So instead I went to a fabric store, brought my shoes with me and bought tulle that matched my shoes and I'm hot gluing the tulle into my slip.

I'm only about 1/3 of the way through so theres not a ton of color in it yet but I'll attach a picture of what I have so far. It's not too hard and this way I know exactly what color I'm getting and it won't be too overpowering.

That looks like it was originally part of the slip, I'd never thought it was hot glued in :) You're doing a great job.

As Brandi said, i sprayed mine with car spray. :winktongue:

Because i was wearing a Red dress, i wanted a Black underskirt. So i tried dying one. But it went Bronze. :bbeek: In this picture you can see the Bronze bit.

I didn't have enough spray paint for the whole underskirt. So i only sprayed the bit you would see if i sat down. It stiffened up nicely and helped hold the dress in place.

Please excuse the boots. I was wearing four inch high shoes for the wedding. By the time this photo was taken my feet were killing me.

If i could have got away with it i would have. :winktongue:

But alas the dress was too long for flats. Hence the four inch heels.

By the time i put the boots on i was at home for the reception. And too busy enjoying the day, the sunshine and the time with friends to care about the dress dragging on the floor.

Thank you girls! :) I'm glad I could help!

Mitch-I would have never thought to spray paint my slip but yours turned out great!

i thought about spray painting mine, but with the new dress, it's sewn into the skirt i believe between the satin inner and the skirt.....but if i end up needed the slip, i'm thinking of doing it....a friend of mine did this, but she used a stencil of the "eagle globe and anchor" of the Marine Corps lol....it looked like polka dots, till she did a picture with her dress pulled up which made it look like her skirt was her dress!

i SO need to get ahold of her! she has awesome pics from her day!
