Hi there,

Wise decision to not drink too much at the wedding. :winktongue:

What kind of drinks would you all usually have if you were out or at home? Without knowing you and your tastes it's hard to make recommendations. However...
Most people who are going to attempt a cocktail in this situation would probably do something vodka based since that would be the most versatile - you could mix it with juice or redbull. You don't want to bring an entire bar into the hotel room with you obviously, so you probably don't want to attempt something too ambitious.
Another idea would be to get a bottle of champagne and a bottle of Chambord (a raspberry flavored liqueur). Less than a half shot of the Chambord in a glass of champagne makes a nice celebratory cocktail and takes the edge of the champagne taste.

Good luck to you in your upcoming wedding.

My first thought for a celebration is always a nice bottle of wine or champagne. If you don't like that stuff straight, how about a nice champagne cocktail or wine spritzer? Maybe the Chambord stuff that Gwen recommended, or just about any juice will mix well really.

With the champage you pretty much just add a splash of juice; you can add coordinating fruit too. I acutally really like strawberries with champagne; drop a few cut pieces in the glass and it adds some sweetness to it and then the strawberries are yummy after :)

I have made wine spritzers too; my fav is white wine, sprite (or club soda) and cran/strawberry juice.

But there are tons of cocktails out there. Just about any juice plus light rum or vodka makes a nice drink; then add a splash or two of Sprite or club soda to make it more of a spritzer. To give the "plain" drink more of a celebratory feel, serve it in a wine glass or champagne flute!
