What's everybody doing for the 4th tomorrow? Any good plans ladies?? :)
DH is knee deep in the end of his school's summer session and has a lengthy paper (45 pages or so...) that he has to work on AND he has to study for an exam. So I suspect I'm gonna be sitting on my couch, catching up on shows on the DVR! :bbeek:
Hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th! :)

Duck come home today so I guess the three of us will go over to the farm and get some veggies and cook out. The local military base no longer does the 4th of July fireworks so I guess that will have to be on the TV. Everyone stay safe.

We're in Vermont at FH's parent's house. We'll be here till tomorrow afternoon, then heading up to where my best friend/MOH is house sitting. We'll be going to watch the fireworks with her, and spending the night with her. Should be a fun time. Then we'll be heading back to FH's parent's house for dinner and finishing our laundry and then heading home. Hopefully the cats don't get too scared with the stupid people that light off fireworks down the street. :irked: They're scared of the loud noises.

We moved here 3 years ago, and we still don't really know anyone. We're "friends" with one of his co-workers and that's it. We know people from both of our work's, but don't socialize with anyone outside of work. All my friends are from college, and they're in VT or NY. Bums me out sometimes, when FH is working late or something, just makes me wish my friends were closer.

LOL that it does! I find myself saying that almost every morning when I'm getting up way too early and dreading work!

We actually just pricelined (is that a word?? haha) the Hyatt in Tampa for tonight. We wanted to go over in that area for the beach and fireworks today anyways, and didn't want to drive back with people on the road who had probably been drinking and driving.
We scored the Hyatt (4 stars) for $45 :) something like $57 with tax... and this one despite being right on the bay has complimentary self parking - so we're not paying an extra $10-$20 for our car.
So we will head over there after a bit and see if they will let us check in early (around noon) if not we will just go to the mall or something in Tampa, and head to the beach tonight.

We cooked out with DH's family yesterday. I'm working this morning, then we're celebrating "Christmas in July" with DH's grandparents this afternoon (we're taking them to swim with dolphins over thanksgiving so we're giving it to them now so they'll have time to make plans) DH is cooking out and I get to finally use my new china and silverware I got for the wedding!

Had a bbq with hubby today. It's been nice outside, not too hot, so it was a great day for a bbq. About to go outside and light our sparklers. Anybody like sun tea (you put a pitcher of water with tea bags in it and sit it out in the sun). I miss doing that with my mom. It was some darn good tea!

It was our first fourth of July as a married couple! :) First, we slept in until about 3pm... then we went to his parents' house for a cookout, then to my mother's house for a cookout, and then at night, we had a bonfire and saw fireworks at a beach. We are so exhausted right now.

This was the first Independence Day in two years that I've actually been in the United States for, so it was a bit special to me. We went to a party that FH's extended family had, and met a lot of people. I wanted to see fireworks, but FH could care less, so we were driving home. My enthusiasm for them is directly inverse to his "meh"-itude. However, on RT 90 driving home, everywhere you looked people were shooting off fireworks. Apparently the illegal stuff is alive an well. That was really cool, it was like Buffalo was on fire celebrating independence day.

I was pretty excited because the high school 2 blocks from our condo apparently shoots off fireworks! I've never been home on the 4th before, so I was super excited when the sky lit up and I had a perfect view from our balcony. I screamed for DH "Come watch the FIREWORKS!" so he abandoned his books for a few minutes and we sat outside. Pretty awesome surprise. :)
