Why does your foot hurt if it is asleep?
OK I guess it is more so when it is "waking up", but the tingles even during hurt sometimes, especially if someone touches it!
Mine usually happens when my dog has been in my lap for a while (I cross one leg in the chair to give him a good spot) and I have to move. When he tries to get back in my lap and touches my leg it sends shooting pins and needles up my leg.

One time I woke up and my foot was asleep, but I was able to hobble to the bathroom. Another time I got up out of my chair in the office and my foot was asleep and I had to crawl to the bathroom
I've noticed my foot falls asleep when my blood circulation is minimized or cut off. I would think it has something to do with the circulation building back up.
I've collapsed once due to my leg being asleep LOL. I hate that feeling!

Pins and needles. Or as i like to call it "Fizzy Feet" is when the blood gets cut off. Then rushes to the extremities when You stand up. Or in some cases just straighten the leg after sitting on it.
I sit on my leg all the time on the sofa. Then end up walking around the house like a pregnant duck, screaming "Fizzy Feet, Fizzy Feet, Ouch, Ouch, Ouch"

Yup, I think it has to do with the blood coming back since it's been cut off somehow when your foot falls asleep. I hate that feeling! What's really not fun is when both feet are partially asleep and I try to walk...
One time I had a sliver stuck way up in my finger nail (ouch!!), and I couldn't get it out... so I think I ended up laying on my arm to make my hand fall asleep. Then I could attack it without feeling anything. I can't remember if I actually ended up getting it out that way... I think I got some of it.

I remember one time in English class in high school we were watching a movie of some sort and at the end of the class, this guy went to stand up and fell as his leg had fallen asleep. The whole class - maybe a dozen of us plus the teacher - all had a good chuckle over this. The next day, the poor guy showed up in a cast and on crutches.:bbredface:

Oh my gosh! While it'd be funny, I couldn't imagine being the poor guy. That sounds like something out of a movie!

I know eh? He was laughing along with us at the time too. When he walked in the classroom the next day we were all like OMG and our jaws just dropped!
