Well I guess its time I start a journal to track my progress.

So I went to the doctor on Friday June 12. And I got to see my little peanut. She/He is sooooooo cute. Tiny but cute. I was 9 weeks and am now 9 weeks and 6 days. Yay!!!!!!!!! I am so excited for all my upcoming appointments.

Since I found out I am pregnant I am also found out three of my friends are pregnant. I went to Babies R Us the other day with one of them, just to wander around and I found so many cute things that I am definatley going to put on my baby registry.

We will find out the sex of out baby around September. I am so excited to find out, everyone keeps telling me I am having a boy because my morning sickness hasnt been TOO BAD! I have only thrown up once, but I seem to get nauseous ALL the time, morning, noon, and night. It seems to subside if I eat as soon as I start feeling nauseous. I am secretly wishing for a little girl, but I will be happy with whatever we have. I just hope its healthy.
Anyways, without further ado here is a few pictures of our little peanut.

So I gave DH his fathers day card and he LOVED it.

I have an appointment tomorrow morning and am anxious to go, i have been freaking out the past few days as I have lost almost all my symptoms. I am not feeling sick, my boobs arent sore anymore, and i just pretty much feel great. almost like I am not pregnant. I cant wait to have the appointment tomorrow so I can hopefully put my mind at ease.
I will update you all tomorrow morning after i see the doctor.

I know how you feel about the "not feeling any symptoms, am I still pregnant" feeling! My belly has finally gotten to the point where maternity clothes no longer fall down and I am starting to feel some flutters in there (as of yesterday, really). So I'm glad to hear all is well, and don't worry, you'll be entering into the next phase quickly!!

I am terrible at updating my journal. LOL.

Well I am 19 weeks now. And I am going in for my ultrasound on Monday. Oh I am so excited. I hope our baby will give us a show and not be hiding. I am so anxious to find out what we are having. I had a dream the other night, my grandma who passed away last year, she came to me in my dream and I asked her what the baby was. She answered "Its a girl". Thats all she said, then she dissapeared. However, the Itelligender test said BOY. So now I dont even know what to think. Oh well only a few more days, and hopefully we will know.

Wow I suck at this journal thing. I need to try and come on to update this more often. Well incase you missed it, we had our ultrasound last week, and we found out we are having a GIRL! We are so excited. I have been feeling pretty good up until I woke up this morning. My left hip hurts so bad today, and it goes into my back. I think I slept on it wrong. Other than that, I am starting to feel the baby move more. I love the little kicks she gives me. I have a doctor appointment on September 15, and I will finally meet the doctor. The past 5 months I have met with the midwife. Anyways, thats about all for me at the moment.

So this post is a few days late, but I went to the doctor on tuesday, we got to see our little Katie again. The doctor did a ultrasound to check the growth of the baby, and the placenta, he said everything looks great. We got to hear the heartbeat too, I just love the sounds of the heartbeat. He did mention that in about 5 weeks I will need to take the Gestational Diabetes test, I am so not looking forward to this one.

09-18-2009, 09:08 AM
Yayyyy that you got to hear her heartbeat again!! So what does the G/D test include, do you know?

Qtpie
09-18-2009, 11:09 AM
the G/D test consists of not eatting anything for 12 hours before the test, then you go to the lab and have to drink a very sugary drink, you have to sit there for 1 hour and they will draw your blood to check you sugar levels, however I have heard that the drink can make you nauseous, and if you throw up you have to do it again.

Oh weird - I've never heard of that test. I thought it was like the amnio or something. I'll take the drink/blood test over the amnio ANY DAY!

When I had it done with my son, I didn't have to fast or anything before hand. But the drink is suppose to be like an orange soda, but with a nasty after taste. I found it make me really lightheaded afterwards and slightly nauseas. I'd make sure you have someone with you when you take the test. A friend of mine was still feeling so sick afterwards she needed someone to drive her home after the appointment

Don't worry Meg! I'm sure you'll be fine!

My SIL just took it and her level was a little high so they made her come back in and do a second one with more fluid! She didn't get sick or anything, but for the second one she had to fast for 12 hours before and that was not easy!

Another friend of mine took the test a month or two ago and tested positive of G/D. She was bummed because she felt like she was hurting her baby. Turns out she was just eating too much fruit! Now she is doing better and just not eating anything that has sugar added. She's due in 2 weeks and the baby is very healthy!

Good luck! I'm sure everything will be fine!!!

Boy am I bad at updating my journal. Anyways, tomorrow is my birthday, so this weekend was spent with the family celebrating. It was super cute, my mom and sister are so excited about little Katie, they went on a shopping spree on Saturday. They got for my birthday gifts things for Katie. My sister bought me a really cute baby bath, its a soft one, I have never seen a soft one before, but when I opened it I fell in love. My mom got me a diaper bag, it is super cute, two covers for the changing table, a really cute baby wipe travel container, and she sent me home with my baby cradle. My uncle hand carved it for my mom when she was pregnant with me. So with a little bit of cleaning I think it will be good as new. I definatly need to take some pictures of everything and post for you all to see.

One of my moms friends hand knitted a baby blanket for Katie, I absolutely fell in love with it the second I saw it. It is so pretty. After we got done at my moms house we went to the In Laws house, they took me out to dinner at the Olive Garden, and boy did I eat way too much. but it was worth it. They bought me the most beautiful Dendrobim Orchid.

I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday October 13 and I am really looking forward to it. I just love hearing Katies little heart beating away. Anyways thats about all for now.

So I had a check up today. It was a great appointment, I have been having cramps for the last few days, the dr said there is not any concern unless they intensify and come every five minutes. We listened to the babys heartbeat, 159bpm. He measured my belly and said that Katie is measuring spot on. So that made me feel good. I then asked a few questions. One was about the umbilical cord wrapping around baby, there is apparantly and old wives tale that said if you bend over or put your hands above your head the umbilical cord will wrap around babys neck, he said this is not true. The length of the babys umbilical cord is what causes this to happen, he did say even if the cord wraps around baby it usually wont cause any harm but that is why the monitor you so closely while your in labor. Anyways, the appointment went very well and I just LOVE hearing Kaites heartbeat.
I have to call and schedule my glucose test for two weeks from now, ugh so not looking forward to this, they want me to fast for the test, I dont know if I will be able to, I Have to eat first thing when i wake up so I dont get sick. wish me luck.

Oh that sucks about the bank! It reminds me of DMV in your other thread LOL.

That's great the doctor eased your concerns about the umbilical cord. My sister's baby's cord wrapped around her neck and she inhaled too soon - but they got it all under control and she's fine now! In the event that they suspect it happening, they'll have about a dozen doctors in your delivery room ready to do whatever possible to make everything okay - rest assured :)

Another sign of Braxton Hicks is your stomach will feel tight while it is happening. And once you drink water and either stand up if you get them while sitting, or sit if you get them while standing, they should stop.

so I am a bit nervous as we have been notified that we have to move by this weekend. A little background: my husband and I watched an apartment complex for trade in free rent and free utilities, but they will no longer be managing the property. We were told last night that we need to be out of the apartment by this weekend. Thank GOD they have a second property in town, that they will be moving us to. However, we need a two bedroom, with the baby on the way, and they didnt have any available, so we will move into a one bedroom for a few weeks to a month, until the two bedroom is done being rennovated. I am a bit nervous as we are getting close to our little princess' due date. We had the nursery all put together in our current apartment it just needed to be organized.
The GOOD thing about this move is that we will be in a MUCH better neighborhood. The apartment is also much nicer. Wish us luck with the move, I know I cant lift anything {per doctors orders at my appointment today} so my husband will be doing most of the move, I just hope he can find some friends to help him with the heavy stuff. And I hope that we are able to get to the permanent apartment and get Katie's room set up before she decides to make an appearance.

I went to the doctor today, this was my last monthly appointment, I am now going every two weeks, which is exciting cause I am getting close to meeting my princess.

My appointment was at 11:00am, but I didnt see the doctor until 12:30 as he had to run across the street to the hospital to deliver a little baby. So my visit was a bit short today, as he needed to catch up on his patients. James had to work today so it was just me. I got to hear the babies heartbeat, and as always, I LOVE her little heartbeat. It was beating between 140-150bpm. He said that Katie is growing just as she should be. BAD NEWS: I have to go take my glucose test before my next appointment, something i am absoulutley dreading. GOOD NEWS: Katie sounds healthy and is growing just perfectly. I will have an ultrasound at about 35 to 36 weeks to check the position of Katie, and hopefully my mom will be able to go to this appointment with me, she really wants to see the ultrasound. I am so excited to meet Katie, as is James.

As the above post states: James and I have been notified that we are moving this weekend. I am a bit nervous as I cant help out much, so he is going to have to do most all the move on his own. I hope that he can find some friends to help.

Yea, it really seems they could have given you more notice than that!

unfortunately, the company didn't know they were going to be bought out until Friday evening, so they told us Monday evening, as neither hubby or I were home Monday during the day. So they notified us as soon as they were able to. They are moving us to there other property in town, and we will just be tenants now, so there wont be any late night walks in the cold, we will be paying $500 a month for rent, which is SUPER cheap. and the apartment will be very nice, and the best part about the move is, we will have a washer and dryer in our apartment, which will be super nice with the baby.

Wow, I can't imagine moving on such short notice! You seem to be taking it very calmly, I'd be freaking out!!!

oh believe me I am freaked out, I am very nervous about the move as we are moving into a one bedroom temporarily until the people living in the two bedroom they want to move us into move. Which should be end of november, so we will then be moving again in hopefully the second week of December, this is what makes me nervous, as that will be soooooo close to Katies due date, I just hope we can get settled in the new permanent apartment in enough time before katie comes, and that I can get her nursery put together in time.

Wow Megan... I'm sorry I missed all this. I didn't think it was legal in CA for them to give you what, a week's notice? Whether you pay rent or not, you should by law have at least 30 days... but I know it's all water under the bridge at this point. What a PAIN!!!!! I wish we lived closer I'd help you guys move :( I'm sorry you have to go through all this so close to your big day.

On the positive side, I'm glad that you're going to a nicer neighborhood, and they got you a deal on a place. Are you at least getting a discounted rent until you get your 2bdr?

They knew it was illegal to not give us a 30 day notice, unfourtunatley the new management company is taking over on friday, so that is why they are moving us to there sister property, we will NOT be paying any rent for the first month or so, until they get us moved into the two bedroom. Once we are moved to the two bedroom, we will only be paying a discounted price. They have gone way above and beyond to help us out in this situation, which we highly appreciate.

And yes, I am having a little PRINCESS, which I am very excited about. Thanks for the support ladies. Lots of LOVE, Hugs.

:bawling:I can't sleep. This is the second time this week, where I have gone to sleep and ended waking up a few hours later wide awake, and in pain. My hips hurt sooo bad, I dont know if its cause i sleep on them all night long, or if its because they are opening up and preparing for birth.
I had a friend tell me yesterday that the baby is already dropping, and I got mad at her. LoL, I told her, its way too earlier for Katie to drop, I still have at least 5 weeks until she will be full term.
As for the move, we have made it to the temporary apartment, and now we are just waiting for the people to finish moving out of our permanent apartment. They started moving out yesterday and should be out by this weekend. Once they are completely out they will paint the apartment and then replace all the carpet, and do a through cleaning. Then we will be moving in. Yay, I cant wait to get all these stinky cardboard boxes unpacked and out of my home. I am anxious to get Katie's new room set up and ready before she makes her appearance. :baby:
Next week is going to go by super fast for me. On Tuesday I have a check up with the doctor, and then thursday is Thanksgiving, Mmmmmm turkey. Then Saturday is going to be my baby shower. I need to find my camera before next week and get it charged and ready.
Well thats about all thats going on with me right now. Hope everyone is well.

Well it is 5:45 am here, and again I can't sleep. I am getting frustrated as i feel like all i do is wake up in the middle of the night and I cant get back to sleep. :bawling:

I go to the doctor for my checkup today, and I am really looking forward to seeing him today as I have a ton of questions for him. I have been having quite a bit of cramping these past few days, and seem to be losing bits and pieces of what I believe to be my mucus plug. I have been feeling Katie move less and less the last few days as well. I really wish he would do an ultrasound to tell me her position to as my poor hips feel like they are broken. I think this is part of my problem with waking up in the middle of the nights, that and I get soooo HOT, kinda like I am having Hot flashes. :keep_cool:

So when I get home from my doctors appointment I will update everyone. Hope you all have a fantastic day. :preggo::baby:

So, my doctors appointment was a freakin NIGHTMARE yesterday. I left my house at 9:00am as my appointment was at 10:30 and the office is an hour away. So I always make sure to leave early, I get to the office at 10:20. All the parking around the office is 90 minute parking, I thought, Oh that will be plenty of time. So I park and go in. The waiting room was PACKED, there was no where to sit. So I finally find a seat, and sit down to wait. At this point I had drinken about a LITER of water so that i could give them a pee sample, so I have to pee. I sat and waited, and waited, and waited. 75 minutes later they finally call me back to pee in a cup and take my weight. I didnt gain ANY weight in the last two weeks. So they put me in a little room and leave. I sat there about 10 minutes and then they came and moved me into a different room. I could hear the midwife talking about her dog to one of the nurses, and she just kept talking and talking and talking. At this point I need to go move my car so I dont get a ticket. GRRRRRR....... So I sat in the second little room for about another 15 minutes, I was very frustrated by this point. So finally, I came out of the room and told the nurse, I need to go move my car before I get a ticket, well just then the midwife comes out and says Oh I can see you right now. So I said OK, in a confused state.

I thought I was supposed to be seeing the Doctor. Why did I see the midwife instead, my appointment was for the Doctor. Well it turns out he was on vacation until December 2. Alright, what ever. So she asked me a few questions, and then measured my belly. I measured right on 32cm which is equal to 32 weeks. So that was good, then she takes the doppler and puts it on my belly. She had a hard time getting a reading, it kept dissappearing. She said oh the baby must really be moving around a lot right now. I told her i didnt feel it. So she decided she wanted to send me for a Stress test monitoring of the baby. This freaked me out. I called James and told him I was going to have the baby monitored for awhile. He got so worried, he was stuck at work.

To be Continued.....

Qtpie
11-25-2009, 03:17 PM
So I go next door, the nurse did a quick ultrasound, which i didnt get to see, to check the amniotic fluid level. The midwife was a bit worried that the fluid level was a bit low, which it is NOT, the nurse said I have plenty of fluid. She then hooked me up to the fetal monitor, and found the heartbeat right away. Nice strong heartbeat, THANK GOD. She had me laying on my left side, which apparently Katie likes cause she kept going to sleep, so the nurse came in and put a vibrator buzzer thing on my belly to wake Katie up. About twenty minutes into the monitoring the nurse decided she wasnt happy with the readings, so she told me to turn onto my right side. She said if she doesnt get some better readings she is going to have to send me to the hospital where they could do some furthur tests. At this point I am ready to cry and am freaking out. So she left me attatched to the monitor for a while longer. Eventually she came in and looked at the readings and said MUCH BETTER, THANK GOD. So she says ok, everything is fine, your good to go.
So I go over to the hosptial to Pre-Register and then I came home. By the time I got home yesterday it was 4:00pm.
Talk about a stressful appointment. I will never schedule another appointment with the midwife.

Thank God Katie is ok.

Hey guys, sorry i havent updated in a few days. As most of you know we are in the middle of our second move this month. We got into the permanent apartment. Last night was our first night here, and it was terrible.
We got woken up like every hour. First some kids walked by our bedroom window making all kinds of noise, then at like 2am someones car alarm went off right outside of our bedroom window. James got up to turn the heater on at 3am and about 5 minutes later every smoke detector went of due to the dust burning off the heater. We got like 2 hours of sleep last night.

As for the baby shower, I dont have any pictures on the computer yet but will in a day or two.
The shower was awesome. We got so many great gifts, but there is still so much that we need. We havent gotten our car seat yet, but James mom says she will get it for us after pay day.

We got so many cute outfits. and so many fun toys. The food was delicious, and we had an awesome turn out, like 20 people.

Katie is kicking and moving around tons tonight, and we are getting very anxious to meet her.

So yesterday was an interesting day. I am now 34 weeks and 3 days. Yesterday Katie decided to play the quiet card on me. I freaked out finally at about 9:30 last night, yelled at my amazing husband (which i now feel bad about). So he finally got me together and took me to the hospital. We got there and they found Katies heartbeat right away. Thank God! I was having some cramps as well so the nurse monitored me for contractions and then called my Dr. He asked her to check my cervix, and she told me that its softening and the first layer is about 1 - 2 CM open, but the second layer of my cervix is still very long and closed. Now I am completely confused as to what this could mean, am i going to deliver Katie early, will i carry her to full term? I will have so many questions for the Doctor when I see him tomorrow. For now, DH will not let me do anything, he told me that my job for today is to sit on the couch and rest.

As for him, he is planning on painting Katie's nursery today, and finishing painting the dresser that we found for her on friday night, its a beautiful pine wood dresser, and we are painting it white to match the crib and changing table. I will post before and after pictures as soon as its done.

As for me I am off to rest now.

Argh, I am having a pretty crummy day. It all started off with this morning, DH got out of bed and the carpet was wet right where he stepped. Well last night we left both the dogs out, which usually we put Chloe in a crate cause she usually pees sometime in the middle of the night. Well sure enough she peed on the brand new carpet. So DH was grumpy when he left for work. I steam cleaned the carpet with a little Green steam bot vacum thing. Worked pretty good, carpet looks great. So anyways, it got me to thinking. Whats going to happen when we have the baby. I might not have time during the day to take the dogs out, now with Bailey thats not a problem, she will hold it all day until DH gets home from work, but Chloe will pee in the house, and poop for that matter. Also last night a friend of mine brought her baby cousin over for a few minutes, and Chloe was scared to death, hid and cowerd the whole time. Well I dont have the heart to make Chloe live like that, so DH and I got to talking, and we think it might be better if we can find a home for her, where they will have more time to take care of her. :bawling: I dont want to send her to a new home, but I dont think its fair to make her live her life in fear.

Then to make my day even more depressing, I was watching a tv show, and all of a sudden NO MORE CABLE. Our cable got shut off, cause we didnt have the money to pay the stupid bill. So here I am stuck at home, in the rain, with no tv, all alone. Then I get a call from James, and I got happy cause i thought he was calling to tell me that he was coming home for lunch, but instead he told me that he was going to have lunch with his coworker today, and that he will see me tonight. :bawling: So when i hung up the phone with him i started crying.

I know thats not that bad of a day, but these pregnancy hormones are totally getting too me. Haha. Plus it gets lonely sitting in an apartment all alone, with nobody to talk to. And I havent worked in about a month (been on maternity leave) so I am getting anxious to meet my little princess now.

Anyways, enough for my vent, I am sure your all tired of listening to me complain.

Here's the text I just got from Megan:

Hey I am at home resting! They gave me meds to stop contractions as Katie would have been a bit early. I am still having them [contractions] but not as frequent. If they start back up again I will have to go back to [the] hospital. Didn't get home until 5am!

Looks like Katie might be willing to wait a little while longer.... Hope you're feeling alright Megan!

thanks for all the thought ladies. Last night was a bit nerve wrecking. James came home from work, and I told him i was having a lot of cramping, so we went to the hosptial to get monitored, where we found out i was having contractions every six minutes. They told me I was dehydrated and I immediately started drinking water. Tons and Tons of water. The contractions didnt stop, they got worse, they were now coming every three minutes. The nurse spoke to my doctor and they said because of how far along i was they dont do anything to stop contractions, So James and I prepared ourselves to meet Little Katie a bit early. I didnt even have the car seat with us, or my hosptial bag, or Katies bag, so I started panicking. About thirty minutes later the nurse came back and checked my cervix, she said I WAS dialating and that they were going to admit me. I started crying as I know its a bit too soon for Katie to come but the nurse reassured me that Katie would most likely be just fine as I am only 1 1/2 weeks shy of full term.
The nurse told me that they were going to try and slow down my contractions as they were coming about 2 minutes apart at that time. So she gave me a shot in my right arm. Wasn't too bad, but it made me super shakey. About an hour later, she said my contractions had slowed down and they were going to try one more shot to stop the contractions, this shot was given to me in my left arm and it hurt like H**L. I squealed when she gave it to me. My arm still hurts. They checked my cervix 4 hours later and said I was still only 1.5 cm dialated. So they sent us home, and said if I start having more contractions or anything to come back immedieately. I am not feeling too great right now as I am still having some contractions, and my lower back is hurting really bad, but I am hoping that Katie will hold out for a bit longer, we want her to be full term before she comes.

Hey girls, just a quick update as I have an IV in my hand. I havent been checked again, but last time they checked me I was 4cm. I have been walking the halls all evening. They will be checking me again in the morning. Also have been recieving antibiotics as Katie is a bit early, they have to be safe. They are planning on starting Pitocin at 6am to get things moving, and they say I should have a little baby by the end of the day. We are super excited and a bit nervous at the same time as we are only 36 weeks, but my doctor said that he is going to just treat me as a full term delivery. I will try and give you some more updates tomorrow, depending on how I am feeling. Otherwise good night and I will talk with you later.

Thanks ladies, i got a tiny bit of sleep last night, and now that I am awake, I am freaking out, I am getting super nervous, they checked my cervix a few minutes ago and I am still 4cm, they are going to get me up and have me walk some more as soon as my antibiotic is done running. I will walk for an hour, and then they will give me bit of breakfast, and they will start with the pitocin. I want to google that so bad, but am avoiding doing so at all costs. I will try and update in a bit, otherwise, maybe next time I come on we might get to meet Katie. We will see.

Awww I'm glad you got some rest. Hang in there - my sister used Pitocin and it did the job - it just took awhile. She was induced at 10am (before she started dilating) and had the baby at 11:30pm. Since you're already at 4cm, you'll be just fine and it shouldn't take nearly as long. She didn't have any side effects either if I remember correctly.

I'm glad they're letting you eat - they wouldn't let my sister eat anything but jell-o from the night before until after she had the baby - that was about 30 hours with no food for her

SkippyNXC

pitocin is just a synthetic version of oxytocin which is what our bodies produce that is responsible for AF cramps... and in turn contractions... i've known LOTS of women who've needed it to speed things along, don't worry...

and i'd say your nurse is right, don't worry about Katie being a little early... you're WELL beyond the worry point... and it's good the doc is treating u as full term b/c while they'll probably closely monitor katie as a just in case, it sounds like they won't be panicking or monitoring her in the NICU (which i have way to much familiarly w/in my fam... know someone who gave birth @ 25 weeks n another @ 30)

Hey ladies, I just got home from the doctors. It was actually a really good appointment. He checked my cervix, and I am only 3cm and 80 percent effaced now. Which means I went backwards by 1cm. but hey thats ok. He said he thinks that I will go a bit longer before I have Katie, which is fine by me, cause I know the longer she is in there, the better it is for her. He measured my belly and said that I am measuring at 34cm now. Which means in the last two weeks I didnt grow, which did concern me a bit. I asked him if he had to guess how much she weighs, he said around 5 pounds, so if I make it to 40 weeks he said she will be between 6 and 6 1/2 pounds, so sounds to me like she is going to be little. He also said that Katie is not dropped down and that she is still sitting high, but I know that she has dropped down some. I asked him if I am ok to travel to the in laws for Christmas, he said that should be fine, but he gave me copy of my records for just in case. So all in all, I had a great appointment today.

He explained to me that there was a HUGE misunderstanding between the nurse and him on friday when they were talking about giving me the pitocin, he thought that I was still actively contracting but stopped dilating, apparently the nurse failed to mention that I was no longer contracting.

So I am home from my doctors appointment, everything went well. We heard the heartbeat, everything sounds great. The doctor measured my belly and he is saying she is measuring at 35-36 weeks, but that is because her head is soooo far down in my pelvis. He seems to think that I will go to 40 weeks. I wasnt too excited when he said that, as I was hoping she would show her beautiful face sooner than that. He then caught that I have not taken my glucose test yet, so he is sending me for the glucose test tomorrow morning. :( He said its kinda late to take the test but he still wants me to go. I go back to the doctor next tuesday for another check up.

On the way home from the doctor we went to Babies R Us and I got a maternity support for my belly, as it has dropped so much its soooo heavy to carry around all the time. LoL, I put the band on as soon as I got home, and boy does it make a HUGE difference.
