The train trip sounds very romantic. Unfortunately I have never known anyone to have an easy and relaxing time traveling by train. The worst was my mother on her honeymoon. Her 8 hour trip to Washington DC took over 16. Another friend booked a first class private car but had the reservation lost and had to travel in a seat in the coach section with everyone else.

You could make a fun roadtrip out of it if you had the time. That would really give you some alone time with the new hubby. But that is going to be a long drive from Ohio to Alaska and then back again.

For a trip that long you might just be ahead to fly. Its just a few short hours on the plane and few hoops to jump through at the airport. But think of how much more relaxed and rested you and the hubby will be to enjoy your amazingly beautiful honeymoon.

I thought about the road trip out there. The way I thought of doing it was to rent a car and drive out there and then fly, one-way, back. That way I'd only have to fly once and we'd get some alone time. But I think that might be slightly expensive and that I'm just going to have to give up and fly the whole way, there and back. How depressing...
