I'm having my wedding this Aug. on the 16!

I ordered some shot glasses to be my favor, but in doing so I thought why not just one for each couple/ the number of invites I sent out.

Well after ordering them and then showing my fiance, he asked how many I got. I got enough for each couple. He thinks each individual should have one! Now I go back to the site to do another order, but I cannot just order 20 more, I have to get the min order of 40...and then the personalization and ends up being 150 something. I will not pay this much for more than I need, and so now I'm faced with.. we need another favor.

My theme is Starfish (mainly)/Ocean themed. I was thinking about candy and bubbles to put on the table for each person, but he thinks that's more for kids! I'm stuck on what to do as a favor FOR EACH PERSON.

Any ideas?

Thank you

Jennifer

we have had this convo on here many times - favors do NOT need to be one for each person. It may be fh personal preference but talk to him. See exactly why he thinks it should be one per person. - we did one per couple and put the couple's seating cards on them - that way they knew it was one per couple/family etc

I think with shot glasses one per couple would be fine. If it was candy or something like that I'd say one per person.

Really though, favors are not required; many people don't keep them anyway. If you are having a nice meal for your guests then that is often thanks enough :)

Maybe you could use the shot glass for the men in the couple and do a nice small lotion, or box of truffles or mint tin for the ladies. This would fix the problem and appease your DH so everyone had their own favor.

I agree with Vana, you don't need a favor per person! Especially now-a-days, with the way the economy is, having a wedding is a huge financial burden on the couple, in most cases. I think per couple is plenty..plus, you are so close to your wedding, you don't have time to be stressing about all of this!!

I think it's ok to give the shot glasses per couple or family. Nothing wrong with that at all. Maybe you could do some sort of candy favor - something not expensive - as a "per person" favor? Good luck! :)

Thank you for the input and help!

I really like the lotion idea or chocolate for the ladies!

My FH is just trying to keep everyone happy lol I keep telling him well were feeding them with $$$$ LOL.

I will think about just one favor per couple idea, and or maybe try something just for the ladies and these for the men!

Thanks again!

First, that's a great day to get married, if I say so myself ;)

If you put a bag of candy inside the shot glass (let's say, M&Ms in your color wrapped in Tulle, etc), since you can share candy (one would hope at least ;) ) it would seems sufficient for each couple and they both would have something in hand.
