I used to be a Tupperware consultant. Any of you who have had a Tupperware party most likely know what I'm about to share.

You can do this in just about any bowl, but it's recommended best in Tupperware's chicken cooker or the large Heat N' Serve bowl - of course :D

The recipe was (I think) introduced via Weight Watchers:

1 can diet soda
1 box of cake mix
1 egg (if desired - not required)

Mix together in a mixing bowl, then pour into microwavable bowl. Place in microwave on high for 8 minutes. Use a toothpick to varify that the center is not runny after 8 minutes. If it's still runny - put it back in in 2 minute intervals.

My microwave gets it perfect in 8 minutes :D And it's guiltless YUM!

Now, the best part, is you can mix and match! I think my favorite mixture was French Vanilla cake with diet Orange Soda = Orange Cream Cake.

Also some other favorites:

Diet Strawberry Soda + Vanilla cake
Diet Cream Soda + Strawberry cake
Diet Root Beer + Chocolate cake OR Vanilla cake
Diet Dr. Pepper + German Chocolate cake
Diet Cola + Chocolate or Vanilla cake

That is interesting! I've never heard of that. We never buy diet drinks, though.

The soda does not have to be diet - it can be any soda - and I forgot to reiterate that it has to be CANNED soda - it's perfectly measured that way :D

Yup, I got the canned part. That's why I was thinking it'd be hard to do, since they come in 6 packs or more, and we wouldn't drink the rest. I may have to try it with regular pop/soda. Sounds tasty!

Mmmmm cake. Guiltless or not, 8 minutes? That might satisfy some weird PMS craving at some point in the future...I'm SO remembering this! Hahaha :)

Speaking of PMS craving - I'm going to try this with brownies some time and letchya'll know how it works. If I remember correctly, it works with brownies as well, but I haven't tried making brownies with soda :bbeek:

I've used this recipe through Weight Watchers, too! Diet Coke with chocolate cake mix. You can also bake it in the oven using the regular baking directions on the box! I've never made it in the microwave.

LOL of course it's edible :) It's pretty good too. I prefer it to a regular cake. I cook it with just a can of soda and no egg.

we make this all the time! Cake is my weakness, so it is much better then the stuff you can buy in the store. We do Dt Coke and Chocolate or white (we use the less sugar boxes and it is even lower in calories) OR Dt Sprite and Fun Fetti! YUMMY!!!

I know around here that you can buy single cans at the gas stations if you want to try it.... then you don't get stuck with a bunch o soda that you wont drink.
