This report is from Channel 15 News here in Phoenix. This video is horrible, so be prepared. If you don't want to watch it, please don't. I couldn't even watch it to the end. But if we don't inform people about this atrocity, then it will continue unabated. It's undercover in a lab in Virginia. They want to build a lab just like this here in Chandler, but we are going to try to prevent it.

Only residents of Arizona are eligible to sign petition, but I just wanted you guys to see this. We are going to stop this from happening. It's so sad!:bbcry:

WARNING: Video is graphic and disturbing

(This is horrible...please sign the petition)
Covance, INC has purchased 38 acres in Chandler to build an animal testing lab where they physically and psychologically abuse monkeys.

At the bottom of this message are two links: one showing what happens to the monkeys in the lab and another link for a petition you can sign.

Investigative Report Questions if the Proposed Covance Facility in Chander is "For the Greater Good"

A Phoenix TV station recently aired graphic video from Covance's animal testing lab in Virginia and discusses the fact that Covance has been fined by the USDA for violations of the Animal Welfare Act. The online introduction to the segment reads: "A controversial medical research facility that uses animals for testing is planned for one Valley community. Paul McCartney has entered the fight to try and stop it from happening, asking Governor Napolitano to step in. ABC15 Investigator Joe Ducey shows you that not everyone thinks it's for the greater good of the community. We want to warn you: some of the images in this video story are disturbing."
The "For the Greater Good?" segment aired on "The Investigator" program on Phoenix ABC affiliate, KNXV-TV (Channel 15). The segment can be viewed on the station's website.
Please contact ABC 15 at (602) 685-6397 or investigators@abc15.com (investigators@abc15.com) and thank reporter Joe Ducey and "The Investigator" team for broadcasting this excellent and powerful report. Let them know that you are an Arizona resident, especially if you live in Chandler.

I started to, but I have a really soft heart for animals, and I just didn't want to watch it to the end. I got the gist of it in about one minute of watching. I hope we can stop it!!

OMG!!!! That was one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen. I could never imagine doing those things to an animal. Maybe those 'technicians' should let us do that to them!!!!

Heather, would you please sign the petition and send it to everyone you know in Arizona? That would be very helpful if you could do that. Thanks!

I still am.....I think I watched most of it. It makes me want to go home and hugs my kids and kiss our animals.
Why are they doing that to them?

I wish I could sign it. I knew better than to watch the video. I am the person who took an "F" in biology as opposed to dissecting anything.

There is no reason to ever harm something more innocent that you are be it a baby or a bunny. When buying cosmetic and household cleaners I urge everyone to take the 10 seconds to look on the back for the "product not tested on animals" lable. I allow for medical research testing ONLY in the final stages of drug or therapy development. There is no need to tests some drug on a chimp when a petri dish of kidney cells will work just as well.

Some people are just too greedy and vain for their own good.

i have to agree with you all test on animals is just wrong. Heck i have recked a car befor trying to not to hit a animal . And i will not use anything that has been tested on them in any way. Its against my religon to harm any living thing and i try to live by that even bug get a helping hand out of the house not killed...

I think to some extent animal testing is neccesary. I think it should be avoided as much as possible. Like Lacey said, many things can be done in a petri dish. A lot of research performed on animals is completly harmless. I've seen some facinating stuff at some labs I've been to. They can sex semen now. That is pretty cool. They do this because in the dairy industry heifer calves are perfered over bull calves. Most bull calves in the dairy industry just go on to veil. Heifers are kept used as milk cows. Most of the time in the dairy industry they artificially inseminate and they can select to insert male or female semen. Cool right!

I couldn't watch the video because I knew I couldn't stand it. I did notice it was from Peta. I also noticed ABC had a piece on it according to Karen's post. Also the USDA has reported violations. It is probably a pretty bad thing then. Just an fyi though, make sure you take things you read from Peta with a grain of salt. They are extremist who are against eating meat or using any type of animal products.
