We are officially TTC starting this month.... Did the first round of OPK's and got a positive on June 3rd and did the baby dance. Now the 2 week wait :ooh:

We already have a theme picked out for the baby's room "Froggy Tales"

I have a 9 yr old son from my first marriage and he wants a baby brother or sister in the worst way.. been begging us for over a year and we keep telling him "it is in the Lord's hands"

Chris and I were talking yesterday about baby names:

For a girl we like Isabella Rose

For a Boy he has all kinds of ideas... he likes the name Mathew but for a middle name he likes:
Aidan, Asher,Blake, Braydan, Christpher, Cole or Malachi and he also likes the name Dominic Mathew

I like Mathew Malachi

I had today off from work and was bored so I went "baby window shopping" or so that was the plan. When I went to Once Upon A Child which is a second hand store they had the whole Froggie Tales set minus the diaper stacker and sheet that comes with it for $35!!!! It retails at Baby's R US for $190. I also found a couple of the really cute froggy patterned onsies from Carters for $1- $2.50. Then I went to Baby's R US to look around and they had a swing in the clearence for $29.90 originally $99.99!!!! Needless to say I snatched up those deals real quick.

Thank you for the well wishes

Chris and I have been watching that new show "I Didn't know I was pregnant" lately .. kind of interesting. Anyway last night I had this really weird dream.....

Chris and I were in the livingroom of my old house I grew up in and all of the sudden I started having pains and I gave birth to 2 baby girls., names Isabella Rose and Natasha Rene..and then my son for some reason was upstairs with my mom and dad and he came down stairs and said "I finally have sisters!" Then Chris and I were at Walmart and my mom hands me 2 $5 gift cards to buy diapers for the babies.. Then I woke up. LOL

I woke Chris up at like 3:30 just to tell him about my dream and he said "that's not the only weird thing you did, a little bit ago I put my arm around you and you yelled at me 'DUDE WATCH MY NIPPLE THAT HURTS!'"

Do you usually spot when you get stressed out?

No, I was just trying to make an excuse for myself so I wouldn't freak out. Chris couldn't even sleep last night he was so worried about me, he's such a worrier but that's one of the reasons I love him. ;)

I haven't had any more spotting today just VERY tired. Chris has called twice already to check on me since he went to work. We were talking and he says "are you sure you had your period?" lol yeah pretty sure but hey my aunt had hers the whole time and didn't know she was pregnant until what they thought was her apendix burst turned out to be she was in labor and delivered a healthy 6 lb baby.

I have had a lot of headaches lately and light cramping in my abdomen off and on and my blood presure has been slightly elevated for the past couple weeks. Before I started last month my breasts were very sore but they haven't hurt since.

So was the 19th the last time you tested? I'd say do a HPT just to be safe.... or a blood test. My mom and her best friend had to have blood tests to determine pregnancy - HPT's didn't work for them. Maybe you're that 'fortunate'....?

Wow I suck at keeping up with my own journal! Too busy reading everyone elses.
Anyway.... no baby yet... just had a weird period though... was 6 days late first of all... BFN.... bleed heavy for 2 days, then very light spotting and then by afternoon I had nothing... ok I can deal with that ;) BUT when I least expect it BOOM it's like I started all over again in the middle of the night. Just go away so we can get back to BD. I really hate my body sometimes.

On a brighter note I had to waste some time this morning so I went to Target to look around and found some awsome deals.... I got a box of 92 size 1 Huggies Snugglers for $2.97!!! They we reduced to $5.97 for some odd reason I didn't find anything wrong with them and then I had a $3 off coupon! Then I was looking through the clearence clothes and found 2 pair of Maternity pants for $3.98 each!

Sooo.. I've been feeling a little odd since I found out yesterday that the girl I work in laundry with at the hotel finally found out for sure she is pregnant. She's been telling me for the past month that she thought she might be because he and her boyfriend had an "opps". Well what makes me upset and well actaully down right :realmad: is that even though she didn't know for sure she's been smoking cig and uhumm other things and drinking, on top of eatting ibprophin like they are candy. She had a toothache and her bf took her to the ER where she said they never asked her if she could have been pregnant but well she didn't tell them either. She was taking vicodin, motrin and intense antibiotics. Well now she's making dumb comments like "well if I had known I would have laid off the pot" or "I don't know that I even want a child, I'm back in school and I'm only 24" Well hunny you had a "feeling"! Anyway she's been spotting for 3 days and had an appointment with a doc today, She's already had 2 miscarriages before. I have mixed feelings about the whole thing.:bbconfused:

Wow. How upsetting! It's so sad to see people out there who just don't really care about the well being of their unborn child :( When there are people who would give a child a loving family and a home who can't seem to get pregnant. I hope she wakes up and smells the roses and starts treating her unborn child like a human and not a science experiment.

Well it seems that Amy has wised up about the baby and is actually really excited. She down to a half a pack of cig a day and stopped with the pot and drinking. I pray she has a healthy/happy pregnancy. Today one of the front desk girls told everyone she's pregnant too, she's due in April, Amy's due in May. Just got a letter from the Dr. office they need me to go in for blood work on the 28th to check my levels. I'm almost positive they've got to be down to 0 or in the negative like they want them. I went from 1200 the day I found out to 800's the Sunday after that and then they were only in the 200's the day I lost the baby.

Hopefully the level will be down to 5 or below by the 28th. From what I'm learning its different for every woman/miscarriage. My levels were at 12 last Friday (two weeks after) and I had assumed they'd be down to 0 by then. I also have to go in on the 28th for another blood test....I'm crossing my fingers that they'll be down to 0 for both of us by then. :crossfingers:

Yesterday was really hard, I spent half the morning trying to keep from crying. I was trying to be happy and stay positive for my son but WOW was it hard, I kept thinking about the baby and how in the next couple weeks we should have been able to hear the heartbeat and all that fun stuff. Chris just kept holding me and kissing my forhead telling me it would be ok and stay strong, it will happen again when the Lord wants it to.

Thank you all for the congrats, well wishes and prayers:hearts:

Chris and I were talking this morning and I can already say I feel different than I did last time... I'm more nausious, my breasts hurt some but nearly as much and it's a different soreness more of a heaviness feeling and I have some slight cramping but nothing like last time. So I'm praying and :crossfingers: that it's a healthy pregnancy this time!

I took another test at about 11am figuring that HCG should be doubling so the line should be more definate but wasn't real sure being that my periods are irregular and it wasn't by any means first morning urine ;) and it was indeed a :bfp:and a darker line.

A little concerned though because every once in a while I get a mild muscle cramp in my left shoulder and I know that can be a sign of an eptopic..hoping it's just me over reacting to everything. I check the tp every time I wipe and I know I will till I know everything is fine and I am past the 12 week mark  I do have a previous injury to that shoulder from a car accident a few years ago and it likes to pop out of place so that could be it.:boggle:

My appointment with the nurse went great.. she's so nice and made Chris feel at ease with everything. For some reason my pee got stage fright LOL I could barely get anything in the cup but I guess it was enough because she did the urine test and said you are deffinately pregnant. We went though all the family history stuff and all that jazz.. she took 7 viles of blood and said because of my history of 3 miscarriages that they would test my HCG as well as my Progestrone levels and if they came back low then they would take more blood and if was still low they would give me the suppositories but she said everything sounds right on track and according to her little wheel we are 6 weeks 1 day today but if you go by actual period history we would only be 4 weeks 6 days.... My first actual OB appointment is next Thursday (3/18) and she said doc will do my pap and all the STD tests and then we would do an ultrasound right there in the office!!!!!

Heywie
03-09-2010, 03:11 PM
That's great news! It sounds like you are being well-taken care of!

I don't understand how her wheel would put you at 6 weeks if your last period puts you at 4... don't they use your period to calculate your EDD on the wheel? So weird!

I'm sure you'll have even more information come your next appt and your u/s!! So exciting!

Sooooooo my appointment was a little frustrating.... it was supposed to be at 9:50am they were running lile 2.5 hours behind. I JUST got out of there!.She said the baby measures about 7 weeks but my uterus measures more like 11 so I have to go to the hospital for a more intense u/s Tuesday so they can see if it's scare tissue from my c-section or whatever. She showed us the sack and we got to see the baby for like 5 seconds. She also said becasue I am over 200 lbs she doesn't want me to gain any weight at all!?! WTF!?! how in God's name do you not gain anything while pregnant!?!

Sorry your appointment was frustrating and that you didn't get to see the baby for long but I'm glad you got to see it! Try to focus on the positive!

Did you ask her how you are supposed to not gain any weight? I mean that is silly. You will gain weight from the baby and increase in blood and fluids and stuff. That stuff is all going to happen no matter what your doc says.

Again, I'm really sorry it was frustrating. Hopefully the ultrasound on Tuesday will be better.

Don't stress over the weight thing. I have a friend who ended up losing 10 lbs with her pregnancy. She avoided most sugars and ate healthy, so there are ways around it. I don't plan on gaining much if any either because I'm way overweight... but we'll see how that goes :crossfingers:

I sure hope you and I can turn this pregnancy thing into a positive outcome for both of us!!! We should share meal ideas and stuff! Everything looked great! Baby was being difficult though.. hiding up in the corner, the tec. had a hard time trying to get a clear pic or good measurment but as far as she could tell the baby is about 7 weeks which pushes my due date back to Nov. 8th..... Heard/seen the heartbeat it was 153bpm!!!!
Was a little upset though because I drank all that water and it hurt so bad I couldn't even walk, so she let me let some out and then because my uterus is so high she couldn't get a good view of the baby so I had to go let it all out and have an internal u/s instead!

It was very reassuring seeing/hearing the heartbeat the other day.Chris cried, which made me tear up as well.

On another note.. we ended up telling Nick last night about the baby because some rude a$$ overheard us talking at school to another parent and decided to take it upon herself to spread the news to other people and we didn't want him to hear it from anyone else besides us. I sat him down and explained that mommy has another baby in her tummy and there is still a chance (God forbid) that something could happen again like last time but that right now the doctors said everything looks very good and the baby looks healthy. Plus I told myself that if something were to happen, I would be devistated , get very depressed and if he didn't know I was pregnant again he would be hurt that we didn't tell him.

Today I had my first WIC appointment and the nutritionist there slapped a big red sticker on my folder and said you are high risk because A. your weight B. you lost 3lbs. & C. you've had 3 miscarriages. The she says you need to gain weight not lose it or maintain for your babies sake... ummm.. then you need to talk to my doctor whom told me I was supposed to not gain any weight and said it was good that I lost 3 lbs.!?! Someone needs to make up their mind on what they want me to do!

I've been laying around getting some rest that past couple days. Chris has been talking to human resources about his unfair treatment and dismissal. That is the most ridiculous reason for firing someone that I have ever heard! If I fired someone for something as stupid as that, I would get fired myself. And then sued by the person I fired.

First of all yay I moved a baby!!!
Chris had an interview yesterday for a maintaince job at the mall, it sounds very promising and it starts out more than he was making at his other job after 2 years of being there.
I finally got to go to the dentist this morning but he couldn't do anything other than give me a script for an antibiotic and for tylonal w/ codine and a referal for an oral surg. now I have to wait on the insurance to ok the out of network place I found because the 3 they have in network are all booked till July or August. I go for my monthly check up on Thursday, hoping they stick to their word and do another u/s at the office. I want to see my little miracle again.
When Chris and I were waiting for my meds to be filled we went to the little second hand baby store next door and found a Precious Moments bassinet for $18!!! No stains on it or anything, it's a lightweight cloth material rather than the wicker ones they usually have and charge more for.

I'm so sorry you have to deal with all the tooth pain and the meds aren't working.
A lot of people find that while they are pregnant, tooth pain is even worse. I know I had the problem a few times.

Last night I had one of the funniest dreams!!! I was at a store doing my baby registry and was almost done registering when all the sudden I started crying and saying it was all wrong we had to go back through and add 1 more of everything... we needed 2 of everything because I was due on November 8th and Chris was due on November 18th!?! :laugh2: I even woke up laughing about it! Chris woke up and was looking at me all weird and said what in the heck is so darn funny at 3am? So I told him.. He thought it was kind of funny but then started freaking out saying "what if there are two babies!?!" :geek:I said well in the 3 u/s we had there was only one.

UGHHHHHHHH.... I am about 5 seconds from changing doctors! This is the second month in a row they have called to reschedual my appointment. At least last month they gave me 24 hours notice, today they called me 40 minutes before I was supposed to be there!?! Like it's not bad enough I can only go on Thursdays which is one of my normal days to work and because the darn doctor never shows up on time I have to take the whole day off every time because I never know how long I am going to be at the office. Last month I was one of the first appointments at 9am and the doctor never got there till after 10 and I never got out of there till almost 11:30. The when we were leaving last time my loving husband decided to tell me.. she put "no heartbeat detected" in her notes.... She never even tried to listen for a heartbeat and I wish he would have never told me that because now it's been on my mind for over a month. I know I shouldn't even worry about it since she didn't try but WTF!?! why put it in your notes if you didn't even try to hear it lady!

I need to stay off the other pregnancy boards!!!! I worry enough about something going wrong with this pregnancy as it is.. I know I have to reason to worry but its always in the back of my mind. I just keep praying I'm right. Any way every time I go on one of the other boards there is always someone posting about losing their percious little one and it just brings back all my worries all over again.

I still sometimes catch myself doing that, then spend the next hour being all paranoid and counting kicks, or being convinced that the kicks I'm feeling are (this is embarrassing) 'too frantic' and something must be wrong. I did stop being such a paranoid mess though when I knew for sure that I could feel him kicking away in there, so hopefully it's the same for you too. In the meantime try to relax! Everything is going to be just fine

The baby gave me the gift of hearing the heartbeat very briefly and kept kicking the dopler:heart: LOL so we got another ultrasound and found out he/she was breach so thats why it was hard to hear it. yeah it's great getting to see this little one so much BUT we have yet to get a picture to bring home!?! :censored: We've had 4 u/s so far. Hopefully when we go for the "good" one at the hospital again we'll get some pics. I'm really looking forward to next months appointment Nick will be out of school and get to hear the heartbeat and hopefully see this little one. He's so excited about it. When I told him all about today's appointment and how we got to see the baby kicking and waving he said "did you see if it had a peeper?" (meaning did we see if it was a boy) it took everything I had not to giggle when I told him no, we don't know yet.

So a couple hours ago I got a phone call from the doctors office.. she says "the blood we drew came back screen positive for triostomy 18, you need to come in tomorrow to talk to the doctor about genetic counceling" So I looked it up and it says the test the took has a high rate of faulse positives and there has to be further testing such as detailed u/s and amnio. I also looked up what triostomy 18 is and it the severe form of downs, severe birth defects and 90% of babies with it don't live to see their 1st birthday. I've been crying almost non-stop since.. Chris left work to come home to be with me. Please all of you pray that this is a case of false positive!!!! :whyme::confused::anxious::pray::pray::pray:

I am so sorry you got that news!! We were told after our 20 week ultrasound that baby girl had some soft markers for Trisomy (she had little pockets of fluid in her brain). We ended up waiting four weeks for a follow-up ultrasound, and I can tell you those four weeks were torture!!! It is impossible not to worry and think about worst case scenarios. In our case it ended up being nothing, but even in hindsight I know there is no way I could NOT have worried. I hope your appointment today can help put your mind at ease!

Well I must say my dr is a b!tch.. she has no freakin compassion what so ever.. Chris was trying to ask questions and she was giving him a lecture while standing over me laying on the table about how they don't need to sugar coat this it is bad news and we need to deal with it..This is my health and the health of this baby at steak... She listened to the heartbeat and it was strong if you ask me. She said babies with T-18 have severe brain and heart defects and are not compatable with life. she wouldn't even take into consideration when he asked what if it is a false positive. She said "there is a VERY slim chance that it could be a false positive." Then she went on to tell us that basically our baby is doomed to die.. either we abort it before 24 weeks or carry it to term and let it die at the hospital. Anyway we have to go to the Womans hospital in Pittburgh 2.5 hours away for gentic counceling and a level 2 u/s Thursday morning at 8am. We are so confussed and scared right now.

I know I'm rambling but I don't know what I'm even thinking right now..sorry

I agree, you need a new doctor, and I would even go so far as to complain to the medical board about her. Hopefully this new doctor will be more compassionate as well as will explain the findings of the second ultrasound.

Oh no, that's not very nice of her. She can tell you it's serious without being so rude about it. I'm sure you know it's serious. What are the rates of false positive for the test? I'll hope that's the case.

The Dallas Morning News did a story on a baby with trisomy 18. It was heartwrenching but informative. If you want to, I can PM you with the link. If not, I understand totally, since you still don't know if that's it for sure. Keeping fingers crossed. And I second the idea of reporting her to the medical board.

Wow the Dr. was rude. I thought all of those tests/screens could come back with false positives. We decided not to do any other than NT scan just for that reason. We even changed our mind out NT scan but did it anyways just for the u/s. Hopefully everything is fine!!

Oh Michele, I am so sorry! My doctor also said there is a high rate of false positives and they cannot be certain unless an amnio is done. I can't believe your doctor was such a b!tch about it!! Try to keep postive, I'm sure it's nothing!

Chele&Chris
06-06-2010, 07:15 AM
Thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers.. trying to keep my faith that this is a false positive. I went to the trisomy 18 org. website and it says that its does have a high riate of false positives, that only 11% actually come out to be true cases and this first screen is just like a weather prediction it's based on an average percentage of other woman your age, weight, stage of pregnancy and something else. Sooo.. keep praying and we will see what Thursday brings.

Oh this breaks my heart to see....I really am praying that its a false positive, and 2ndly, i would have gone ape sh!t on that dr....To have no concern for you or your feelings was down right unethical, I suggest when, being positive, this comes back as ok, then you contact the patient relations person with that clinic and file a complaint. There is absolutly no reason that dr should have been that rude, I don't care if you pee'd on her, its not her job to just shake off your fears or concern, she should be helping but those to ease, not making it worse...side note I did know someone with a tris 18 baby, I have to say that mom and child were an inspiration to see...not the details but the strength. I'm praying for you and your family this week.

I talked to one of the ladies at the women's hospital today because we had a lot of questions.. She was VERY nice and took the time to answer anything I asked of her.. she straight out told me to "stay calm and think positive, this test does have a high rate of false positive and genetics will explain everything" She also changed my appointment from 8am to 9am so we have a more experienced person to explain everything to us because of everything we've already been dealing with the past few days..I told her what my doctor said and she said "who is your doctor, she had no right to say any of that to you" then when I told her she said she has never heard anything good about her.... GREAT whay didn't someone tell me this before!! My family doctor is the one who said "ohh... she's really nice, you'll really like her" Guess what I hate this B!tch and I think just for you telling me how great she is I think I might look for a new family doctor too! Needless to say I think we are in good hands when it comes to going to the Women's hospital.:luxlove:
