Hi everyone,

I am having problems coming up with centerpieces. The tables are rectangular and my colours are baby(light)blue and silver. The wedding is to take place on Sept 4th,05 which takes place on Labour Day weekend. I know I would like flowers and candles. I have thought of candles of different sizes but I am not sure if that's gonna look good. If anyone can give me some ideas, that'd be really awesome.

thanks!!

Neeni...that's a REALLY beautiful idea.

The idea I thought of...if you wanted to do varying candle hieghts is similar to Neeni's. Purchase some pretty silver fabric from a store and some blue candles of varying hieghts (you could do white and then do the flower petals...which sounds really gorgeous). Then cut the fabric in slightly long strips and arrange the candles on them as you wish. You could make the fabric go over the edge of the ends of the tables or you could have it only go as far as the candles do...that's up to you. The thing I've noticed about long tables is they tend to have a main centerpiece and then two smaller pieces on either side. You might save money on the centerpieces if you just extend the one in the middle.

By the way, how are you doing seating arrangements with long tables? Are they all facing one way or all the way around the table? I'd really like round tables, but I may get stuck with long tables and I'm not sure what to do with them seating arrangement wise.

Hi guys,

Thanks a lot for the great ideas. I really like the idea of the silver material and placing the candles on top of them. I also love the rose petals as that will make it seem more whimsical. I dunno if it will be necessary to have a bigger floral centerpiece and have all that(candles and rose petals) surrounding it. Hmm....maybe it's a bit much, what do you think? As for the seating arrangement, they'll be facing each other. I cant really change it as the place we're renting doesnt want us rearranging their rooms too much. I believe it's 8 people per table and they are all facing each other. I would have preferred round tables because it's nicer for centerpieces. USAHGRAD, if you end up with the long tables, the best would be to have them facing each other that way they can see the head table and each other wih no problem. I wouldnt recomment putting anyone on the ends as they will have their backs to the head table and the other tables. I dunno.....what do you think?

I may be a little late but...
different size cylinders with various size candles would be lovely. You can place rose petals (real or silk) on the table for decoration as well. I think that would be romantic.
Another idea that I had were - silver buckets filled with minimal water and floating candles.

Good Luck!
