A guy friend of mine told me that a female friend of his, who is also getting married, told him that mostly women purchase things from the registry. When another couple of my friends got married, everyone was getting stuff from their registry. Is there a gender divide on this? My inclination was to say no, but I figured I should ask first.

I don't think there is any etiquette that says that men shouldn't buy from the registry :bbconfused:
But many men don't like to shop and would probably just get a gift card or something easy ;)

I definatly agree women are more LIKELY.. i know whenever (ONCE) i have left it up to fh to do gifts - they would up with a check haha!!! - For a wedding, ill always give checks but for the shower, i enjoy finding that "perfect" thing on their registry!!!

You mean, DH? ;)
The one wedding I went where it was my friends getting married, it was also mostly a male friendship group that attended.... and all the guys got stuff off the registry - they said they wouldn't have known otherwise. So I was confused by that comment.
