This is kind of dumb, but I have the worst sore throat! It didn't hurt at all a few hours ago, but now it hurts so much. Do any of you ladies know of any sure-fire sore throat cures?

I've tried gargling with salt water, drinking tea with honey, sucking on a cough drop, taking Nyquill...nothing!

PLEASE HELP!

I know I won't sleep with a sore throat, and I really won't sleep because FH got called out to climb some power poles...

I usually use that numbing spray stuff, sometimes a gargle of Listerine seems to help too.

Here is a site I just found with some home remedies for sore throats -

Hope yours goes away soon!

I use chloraseptic spray when I have a sore throat but it doesn't cure it, it just treats it.

Hope you feel better soon.

ibuprofen may help too b/c it'll decrease any swelling

I love the Tylenol Cold (they have both daytime and nighttime formulas) - I think it's better than the Nyquil. :) I'm also a fan of hot tea. I used to get sore throats all the freaking time - they're so annoying! I hope you feel better soon!

Sounds like you could be getting a cold. I suggest taking a TON of vitamin C in the next couple of days to help your body fight it off and drink lots and lots of water. Sorry you are feeling so crummy! I hate sore throats!

Thanks, ladies! I slept through the night, but I couldn't even swallow when I woke up! The weird thing is, I have consumed more Vitamin C in the past 2 days than I have in the past month...and end up getting a sore throat and now my sinuses are all congested. Hope this clears up before my beach trip Saturday! I drank some hot tea this morning and took some ibuprofin (sp?) and some DayQuill. I still don't feel great, but feel a little better.

Drink and gargle raspberry tea. Raspberry is an excellent natural supplement especially when trying to get rid of a sore throat. To enjoy this tea, you first need to chop two teaspoons of raspberry leaves and add one cup of water.

Next, you would heat the leaves and the water for 10 minutes. After you are done making the tea, you will need to strain it and allow it to cool. This tea can either be used as a gargle or a fever calming drink. It is recommended that you don't drink any liquid you have used to gargle with. If you need extra to gargle and to drink, just double the recipe.
