Vana's thread about coupons made me think of this ;)

So I am curious; do do you clip coupons? Where do you usually get them? Do you usually buy various brands if you find a good coupon for something, or do you look for coupons for brands you like to buy?

Me; DH and I used to get the Sunday paper just for the coupons and we would always look for coupons for brands we buy. But we have sort of given up on that more recently.

We do still look through the random coupons that come in the mail and sometimes there will be something good in there and we will use it.

I use coupons mostly all the time. I belong to a forum where people post all kinds of links for coupons and good deals. I get mostly all my coupons from the internet, or sometimes they mail them to me. I have to use them at Walmart though, because most grocery stores won't take internet printed coupons.

Pretty much anything that we get packaged we get at Costco and then produce from farmer's markets so there's not much coupon clipping that we can do. I used to use coupons printed off online and out of newspapers and ads. We do use coupons to go out to eat sometimes though! I love restaurant.com, especially when I get 80% off codes!

I click coupons for everything. Even places like Kohls, macys etc. i also belong to a site where they give links etc. to coupons.
i make it a game because its fun saving money. for mothers day, i bought two purses (vera wang) and with all the coupons and the sales i paid 35.00 for both (they were 20.00 and 15.00) it was great haha - they were 70.00 each to begin with

DH makes fun of me so badly about this. I am the coupon queen at the grocery store. I prefer buy things when they're on sale and I have a coupon - if the newspaper, that I already have delivered, is going to give me coupons for things I would buy anyway, why wouldn't I use them?

DH's argument is that I defeat the purpose of clipping coupons when I'm a bad girl and buy something like a $200 purse. But I say that I would have probably bought the purse anyway so the two topics are mutually exclusive...hehe :)

I agree with your argument completely.

We clip coupons when the coupons are for stuff that we'll buy. This has been happening less often, unfortunately - but we've been diligently searching!

Gwen, your argument is the exact one i have with dh.. he makes fun, says im frugal and cheap everywhere but purses and shoes and im like umm YA?? your point!!!
i do have to say that i keep coupons that i find for ALL stores in my wallet.. today i had one for 55c off poptarts and the store i was in had them on sale for 1.05... so with my coupon who could pass it up,ummm thast a great price hahah!!!

Um.. YES. After seeing how much people at the store i work at were saving money.. How could i not? I love saving more than i spend, though. XD Yay Kroger card.

We use them once in awhile, if we see something particularly good. We look for coupons either for brands we already buy, or for things we've been wanting to try but haven't wanted to pay so much for. I'm hoping after the wedding we'll get better about clipping coupons. Like Gwen said, it's just so worth it--we already get the coupons in the mail, and we already buy the stuff anyway, so why not?

I use them for eating out a lot, but other than that, I always forget them. Not really picky about what brands we buy... whatever's cheaper :)
