I've been thinking about getting laser hair removal on my underarms and bikini. Has anyone done this? What about is the cost? Does it hurt? Was it worth it? How long did it take for the hair to stop growing completely?

I wanted to do a brazillian laser hair removal. I know where I live, it was about $2000 -$3000. I've heard reviews on how people think any laser hair removal was worth it, but its just so much money!!

I would never do this because I heard it was expensive, painful and takes multiple sessions to be really affective.

Yes it's expensive, but over the course of a lifetime, so it razors/shave gel/waxing/nair/etc...I would think over the course of a lifetime laser removal is cheaper.

My sister spent a lot of money to have this done and it didn't work. The hair kept growing back. Her hair is a reddish brown. I've heard that people with dark hair have the best results though so maybe it's worth a try.

At the spa I am using for my wedding day, they have cheap laser hair removal at about a little more than a wax for bikini line and what not.. I was wondering why it is so cheap there compared to other places like laser hair removal clinics.. Most of the spa's Ive been to here have it at a good price.

the difference is probably in the person doing the removal... at a clinic u have a medical professional of some sort operating the laser most likely... at a spa its someone who has probably taken a couple hour training on how to use the laser and has no medical knowledge/experience...

I actually started getting laser hair removal right before our wedding. I think I have had about five treatments so far and one scheduled for next month. They did tell me that the darker the hair is, the better it responds to the treatment and the more likely it is to stop coming back. Unfortunately the hair I'm getting removed is pretty light! The treatments are spaced apart though, and I have seen less hair growing back. Hopefully my next appointment will be my last. I don't know if the hair will be completely gone, but it's a lot better than it was before I got the laser hair removal.

One of the side effects of laser hair removal are burns. While burns are not always part of the treatments, on very sensitive skin, major burning can occur.

Yeah I saw a talk show, I think it was Montel lol, that had people on it that had laser hair removal gone wrong. This one lady just wanted the peach fuzz off her face and ended up with all these half-moon shaped scars all over from burns. :(
