So far our theme's include: lilies of all sorts but in pastels and white (both of our favorite flower!!!), 1930's Mickey and Minnie (I just bought the cake topper, too cute!!!!!!), and pastels for the bridesmaids and my maid of honour.
If it was up to Kev it would all be NASCAR, but I had to put my foot down instantly o that one! I'll make him a checker flag cupcake.
Therefore there isn't really one main theme but a bunch of little things that mean a lot to the 2 of us. We're both very simple people who both love simple yet pretty.
There will be more Disney, but he just doesn't know it yet! I'm going to ease it up on him little by little. Thank goodness for online shopping!

LOL!!! That's ok, you've got a good start. I love everything so far, except the Nascar of course. Love the checkered flag cupcake idea for him though!

One thing you could do is have the groom's cake table decorated in Nascar stuff. I went to a wedding in May where the groom was a big hunter. The rest of the wedding was done in pink, but his table had a camo table cloth and they even brought a deer stand to go beside it. I am going to do my FH's table in cowboy stuff. My mom even found a crystal cowboy on a bucking horse.

I love your ideas! We are having a fall wedding, but incorperating a lot of what we like into it as well. Steve likes hunting so we have a camo guest book. Our cake topper is a firefighter groom and bride. I like the weddings that being what both people like into it. I can't wait to hear about more of your ideas!

The weddings that I have been to the groom gets his own table for his cake if you have one. At my site there is not enough room to put 2 big cakes on one table. That way you can do a themed table for your groom. Another wedding I went to had the groom's cake done in Texas A&M stuff. These people were obbsessed wit Aggie stuff. They had the fight song played at their reception and her garter was a Texas A&M garter. They got engaged on the campus. He drives an Aggie maroon truck. They have got it bad for that school.

Everything sounds really nice. One word of advice though don't mix too many differnet things into it or it may just seem to discombobulated...Not sure how to spell that one. Anyhow, Stick to a few things that resemble the two of you the most! Everything sounds very pretty though.
MY FH is an avid avid hunter, fisherman, and NASCAR fan. One thing he said that we could do whatever I wanted but he didn't want it too girly. I agreed becuase that's not me at all. I played with trucks and dirt before I ever thougth about Barbie. Most importantly we want to incorporate who we are as a couple into our day. One thing I want is medium sized lanterns with candles and flowers all around. Elegant and kind of Rustic ya know. I also want to incorporate fishing into it becuase that's one thing him and I enjoy the most so favors are going to have something to do with that and finding you're catch?? I thought that may go good with the lanterns too. Kind of corny but that's our sense of humor. The rest of it will incorporate our monogram and family including a slide show. Anyways, the best of luck to you with planning and also we're here if you need us!

That sounds super cute!!!!!
I deffinetly agree whole heartedly with you about mixing too much. Lillies and disney are goign to be the main themes. Not everywhere Disney just little hints of it here and there.
Kev and I are both very simple. I don't want an over kill wedding, with all sorts of weird and usless things. Kev's already trying to stop things. Like I found the sweetest wedding cake knife and server. It has Mich on one and Minnie on the other. He says NOOOOOOOO!!! I'm not getting married in a kids playground. We have also realized that by not buying little things like that, and goign cheaper and more simple on other things we'll be able to save more money.
That was what I wanted to ask... Does anyone know of any good wedding books (not magazines) about cost cutting and what not?

I personally love the nascar idea. I would have done this for jerry since we are both avid fans, but we just didn't have the money for it. My brother is a huge hunter and had his own table as well. It was so cute. Decorated in mallard ducks and themed this way.

A friend of my mom's recommended "Bridal Bargains". I have no idea if it's of any use, but it sounds like it might be what you're looking for. It's on Amazon for like $10 so it wouldn't cost that much to check it out.
