I've had my dress for about a month. When I first got it, I was put on new meds which made me gain weight. I made sure to keep the weight gain down to a minimal change, and then decided to go get my dress altered.
Now i'm on a new medicine that makes me lose weight. So now i'm all confused and dont know when I should do my alterations.
The wedding is in 54 days. I've been on the new meds for about a week, and was told that it would be best to wait until my weight stabilizes which could be another few weeks as my body gets used to the change.
So Do I go get it altered asap, and then hope for the best? or wait until my weigh is stabilized and used to my new medication, and basically get a "rush" service done on the alterations?

I think you need to get your final fitting done as close to the wedding as possible. I got mine finished one week before we were scheduled to leave (DW), and it was a perfect fit! :)

Okay, so really the fact that I dont have my dress altered at this point shouldnt be a huge concern?
i'm just very very afraid that I'll get it altered, and then my whole weight will dramatically change, and i'll be paying for a complete re alteration on my dress.
My Step mom had her dress altered a week after she got it, which happened to be 9 months before the wedding. And then had one fitting again towards the end and only had to have small changes made.
My dress needs to be shortened a few inches and then hopefully taken in.

Do you have a seamstress in mind already? If so, I would consult with your seamstress first to get an idea on how much time it would generally take. Depending on how detailed your dress is and how busy the seamstress is, it could take a bit of time. Hopefully, the seamstress can give you some idea on how soon you need to get your dress in.

Yes, I do have one in mind. So I'm just waiting to hear back from her.
Thanks ladies!

I bought my dress back in December and it was off the rack. My wedding isn't until August but the sales lady suggested I don't start getting alterations done until 1 month before the wedding. Planning a wedding adds stress to ones life which can do weird things for someone weight plus the added effects of the meds. I would suggest talking to the person and at least having her book you in so that she will have time for your dress when you need it done.
