DH saw something about this topic on TV (I think that is what he said) the other day and I thought I'd look it up and share.

I found lots of talk about it, but here is one article ...

Breathing for health

Life is but a series of breaths. Breath is life. We can live a long time without food, a couple of days without drinking, but life without breath is measured in minutes. Something so essential deserves our attention. Breath is the most important of all the bodily functions.

Proper breathing is one of the most important things you can do for maintaining your health. There is a right way and a wrong way to breathe. Children breathe deeply, from their diaphragm. As we age, however, our breathing shifts to the chest and becomes more shallow and more rapid. Deep breathing is best.

I have read some articles about the importance of proper breathing and have tried to focus on it in the past. It's something that is so easy to just dismiss and not pay attention to. I think I'll start trying to pay attention to it again!

Yeah, I was surprised to read that most adults are not breathing properly.

This is very cool, without me even knowing I have been breathing correctly :D I wont change it now. It must be hard to break out of breathing pattens though, very interesting.
