If you guessed that June was the most popular month for weddings, you were right. Below is a list of months in order of wedding preference. You will notice that there is a definite trend in the scheduling of weddings, with the warmer months of the year ranking consistently higher than colder months.
June
September
August
May
October
July
April
November
December
March
February
JanuaryIf you are having trouble reserving the site you want and you have some scheduling flexibility, you might consider changing your wedding date to a less popular month. Some people schedule their wedding around the type of honeymoon they want to take. In fact, choosing the appropriate season for your honeymoon type can also save on honeymoon expenses. For instance, if you have a January wedding and you want to go to the beach, you’ll have to travel farther south to get to a warm climate. However, if you and your spouse enjoy skiing, January would be a better month than June to find snow in this hemisphere.
When choosing your wedding date, be sure to chose the month that is best for you, regardless of its popularity. Hopefully, you and your spouse will enjoy your anniversary on that date for many years to come.

I knew June would come in 1st, but I would not have thought September would be 2nd. I would have thought May would give June a good run for its money.

And I never would have thought that August would beat May either. But it might be that stupid superstition coming into play too. Who knows... LOL!!

I never would have thought that either. No offense to any August brides, but I would never get married in August here. It is way to hot in August and I don't even like to be outside in August. There is no way I could wear a wedding dress here in August. Maybe up North farther, but not here.

I like February, with the whole Valentine's Day thing going on, but they say that people generally like to get married in warmer months. Go figure...:)

Here in NH October is actualy the most popular moth for weddings. The reason I beleive is because the summer is so busy here with tourist. And even in early fall with all the leaf peepers. October thigns start to calm down again. I didnt knwo this untill I was planning my first wedding and already hd the date picked out. I was married in late October.
So maybe it depends where you live as to what the most popular month is.

We got married at the end of May. First because it was a long weekend and we had a lot of guests traveling that appreciated the extra day. Secondly, here in Western PA, the end of May is pretty predictable when it comes to weather. You aren't going to get snow, the spring rains are usually over, the last frost is done, but the heat and humidity have't taken hold yet. Also, it was convienent for me as a teacher. All the standardized tests were over, the school year was all but done. I have almost all seniors and their day was that Friday before the wedding. So, they didn't even need to call in a sub for me.
We thought about June but that is really popular for weddings around here. So, we woul dhave to have fought for vendors. I didn't have trouble booking anyone for Memorial Day weekend.
The middle of June through the end of September are miserably hot here. You get 90+ degree days with near 100% humidity and rain. October is just dreary and rainy. November through March you have to worry about the snow and below zero windchills. April through the begining of May is just cold and pouring rain all the time.

Our Decembers are very unpredictable. You never know what you are going to get. We picked December because Justin did not want a summer wedding and I am also graduating so this was a good time. Christmas 05 the weather was very mild. I think it was in the 70's. However, Christmas 04 it actually snowed here. Snow only happens once ever 5 years or so. We have had ice storms a couple of times. When I was a freshman in high school we had an ice storm that knocked power out for a week. It was actually fun because we had a fire place and we got to miss school! I'm glad we don't have to deal with that every winter. Usually our winters are just rainy and somewhat cold.

I did start a poll like this on UW. Here were my results, so far.
January/February-6
March-6
April-10
May-17
June-30
July-32
August-17
September-30
October-25
November/December-20
So, pretty consistant with what you posted..other than July is the top month on UW...

Yes, it is going to vary from State to State, I think mine was a United States consensus. Very interesting though...

I guess the reason September is so popular is because most places the nice fall weather is starting to kick in. The natural scenery is beautiful is some places in September with the leaves turning colors. I guess not a lot of people around her get married in September because it is pretty much like August, miserable. I wonder if I can find a census on particular areas.

It is hot here too, but we picked September for a specific reason, not for the season. I think others did it like that too. :)

He the leaves start changing colors the end of September. So they are at their peck the first and second week of October. Perfect for us!

Yeah, I've noticed that a lot more people, at least in my area, are switching from the June/July weddings to September/October weddings because its not as miserable out and its still very pretty. June and July can get pretty nasty in Iowa. This year, it started getting nasty in like April! It was insane this year....

We picked July because they would just be finishing spraying pesticides on the crops, it just worked best for Matt's farm family!

I always have wanted to see some beautiful fall foliage. We have some leaves turn colors, but we have so many evergreens. Most of them just stay green all year. Blah. I want to see pretty leaves!
