I have heard some strange stories about disposable cameras on the tables at receptions.
One wedding had many college age people at their wedding, and when she went to develop the film, there were obscene pictures of people's private parts.
Another wedding had children guests and they took the cameras and dropped them into the fishbowl centerpieces that were filled with water.
Then there was the wedding that had small children taking pictures of each other under the table.
And the one where the guests thought they were favors, and just took them home.
And then there was the obnoxious guest who just took 24 exposures of his face alone. So with all that said, are you going to have disposable cameras on your tables during your reception?

I have heard good things and bad things about disposable cameras at weddings. Some of the weddings I know the pictures have been great. The last wedding I went to had them, but nobody even used them that I saw. I don't know if I am even going to bother with it. Justin wants to. I don't know yet.

With everything you know now, and if we didn't already have them, would you have still wanted them, Am?

I am going to say no to this one just because I know people. I don't know of a bride and groom that I have talked to that felt that the money spent on the cameras was really worth it. They all end up with a couple good shots and dozens of shots that aren't worth the paper that they are printed on. The way that I see it, I paid a lot of money for a photographer. Taking pictures is his job. If my guests get a couple good shots with their personal camera and want to email them me, great. But I am not paying for them to relive frat house memories.

We had disposable camera's at our wedding. There were some really great shots! There were also some not so nice shots. The most annoying thing about it was the half roll of the staff hanging out in the kitchen. We belive that one of the staff members took it and took pictures of everyone working that night. I plan on sending those pictures back to the hall with a little note. I think they might appreciate having them more then i would.

In all honesty, I would say yes! I think it is a great way to get pics of things a photographer wouldn't! Plus they are soooo pretty! I love them....

I would like to have these sitting around, but if it doesn't end up fitting into my budget at the last minute, then I will not bother with these.

From my experiance seeing my wedding was such a small thing I did not need them. I have a stack of pictures from about 4 different cameras and some are great some are so blury because people were not waiting to focus. I love every picture though. I did not need to waste the money I did not have for every one to take pictures for me. I had a photographer and she took some great photos. Even of the guest and she got my son sound asleep. And my wedding being so small I was able to tell her if I saw something I wanted a picture of or some one else did. Like when my friends put the hats on the beer bottles. I didnt need them. All though some one else with a bigger guest list might.

My brother and his wife did have them and believe it or not people actually stole them! We were shocked because there was an anouncement at the beginning telling all about these cameras. The ones they did still have, had the worst pictures on them. My mom's family turn into a bunch of children when they drink and the pictures were so immature and stupid. The ones that were on my SIL's side, got stolen and the pictures sucked there too. If it were me, I'd save my money but that's only my opinion.

We are not doing the disposable cameras on the tables. Instead, we are giving disposable cameras to every member of the BP and asking them to take pictures with the cameras.

We had disposable cameras on the tables, but we haven't gotten them exposed yet. Only three of them were fully used so I have lots of half-rolls left to use before I get the pics off of there. We didn't spend much on the cameras for the reason that there could be some awful pictures or accidents. But then, there might be some great pictures on there too! So every private part I have to look at will be worth it!

That's a good idea! I don't think our bridal party will want to do it though. That's just my thought. LOL!

This was another of our plans that was "forgotten" about!!!!! We were going to do this. Where we would have lucked out on this is that our wedding was sooo small, and the ones that were there wouldnt have taken off with the cameras or taken pics of stuff they shouldnt.

The only occasion I've ever been to which had disposable cameras on the table was my high school prom. It went alright, but it wasn't great. A lot of people didn't use the flash, and once the dancing started and all the lights were turned out that became a problem, as none of the pictures turned out.
The only other major problem was that all of the pictures were hung in the front office to be taken. So in some cases, one person from the table (this happened at my table) took all of the table's pictures and no one else got any.
So I wouldn't do it. But that's just from a rather negative personal experience.
