Thanks!
The youngest FG is my niece. My sister was concerned about her age and that she wouldn't be able to BE a FG! I told her that that was the point! Her job was just to be cute and make everyone smile.

We had to get everything ready for our trip out to CA. That included dropping the dog at the vet so she could be boarded.
THEN we went to the airport where I made the bad choice of having a coffee before a 5 hour flight. Yeah. Not a good idea. Oh and there was an hour delay before take off.
THEN when we got there we were surprised by not only DH's parents at the airport but my mom, sisters, and niece as well!!!
Thursday Morning:
DH, MIL, & FIL went to the county clerks office and filled out our license. After that we went our separate ways since I hadn't seen my family in 2 years and wanted to spend some alone time with them just to catch up.

Everyone knows I'm not into the traditional stripper/drinking thing so we went out for Mexican food & margaritas, then spent the next couple of hours thinking we could sing at a karaoke place.
TONS of fun!! With every beer we were sure we could sing those songs!!

Friday: we ran around and got last minute items, got our nails done, and then rushed to the rehearsal dinner. Tons of fun. Food was good.
We stayed up until 2 am getting things done -oh and writing my vows 'cause I never got around to that before then.
Saturday:
I'm up by 5am -yes you did the math right I slept for 3 hours.
ran around doing, what it feels like now, nothing! Got ready.
We were 1 hour late to the wedding, but we got there. There were tons of "of course she's late to her own wedding!" since mom and I are notorious for arriving to places late.
I was so nervous!
I don't even remember how I got to the altar! I'm sure I sound like a bridezilla on the movie. I just kept saying "I don't care how you line up anymore! Just go!"
But they figured it out and actually had the guests create an isle since we'd forgotten the river rocks in Michigan.
My cousin and niece made me relax and I started laughing when he started dragging my little niece down the isle just so they would be the center of attention anymore.
Then I get there and my cousin is singing. and I start listening to the words as I'm looking into DH's eyes... why did I pick this song? Now I'm crying! All I can think of is "oh great! Janet's hard work on my makeup is RUINED!"
The ceremony was short and sweet. I loved it.
Then we took tons of pics and hung out!!
You can see all the pics here:

Oh something I forgot to add:
When I tried on the dress my mom had made for me... it was too small!!! :bbeek:
Why? Because she decided that the material I got for her was not going to be good enough for the dress so she went off and bought a different kind of material -one that did not work with the original over material purchased so when she made the whole thing it shrunk by a dress size!!
It closed, but... it did NOT look good. At one point through my sobbing I cried out "it looks like I'm smuggling pizza dough under the skirt!!"
Granted, it didn't help that I wasn't wearing the proper underwear, but I mean... that wan't going to make THAT big of a difference.
So I'm thinking about what I can wear instead, where I can go just buy a white dress in my size in the last minute, ANYTHING 0when my mom says.
"I can make you another one"
ok huh?
In 2 days? No way!
She did! My momma's AMAZING!!

aWow, you mom made that dress in 2 days?!? She really is amazing.
yes. yes she is. She's also a perfectionist so she kept making these tiny corrections that no one would know about but her so we were literally sewing me into the dress at the last minute.
She still keeps begging me to give her the dress so she can add a zipper to it. Nope. It's how I wore it. I'm keeping it that way.
Sunday was mother’s day so we just gathered at my mom’s place and had a BBQ … or what we call a BBQ DH and his family were able to eat REAL Mexican food for the first time ever. My FIL was very interested in the whole process and jumped right in to help with making the carnitas (beef) and chicharones (like pork rinds).
No one wanted to try the menudo though :o I don't blame them.

I am also in awe that your mom made that dress IN TWO DAYS. I'm not a white dress kind of gal, but I really loved that dress on you - it seemed perfect for the occasion.
I had so much fun looking at all your pictures! I hope my wedding is at least half as beautiful :D

thank you guys!!
One of the best ideas I had was to take my laptop with me, then I just confiscated as many memory cards from people as I could and copied/pasted them on to a file! This way I got tons of different views and angles that I wouldn't've had any other way.

So… married life…
It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these and with so much running through my brain I figured this was s good an outlet as any.
Nothing bad.
Just… stuff. Nothing and everything seems to have changed. We still are us. We still have our routine, we go to work, go grocery shopping, do our respective chores, sex, you know stuff.
But I think it’s more with me. It’s no secret that before Bill I had commitment/trust issues. And I still do with people who aren’t in my family, but … I don’t know.
It seems like Bill just takes every new step in our lives in stride and I seem to need more time to adjust. When we were first dating I had a hard time calling someone my “boyfriend” and not feeling so High School. Then we moved in together and already my family was calling him my “husband” even though clearly –he wasn’t. Then “fiancé” that took forever to get used to –thank goodness for that 2 year engagement. And now that I got used to THAT title I’ve had to change it again.
Every time I hear someone refer to him as my “husband” or I call him my husband or hearing him or someone else call me his WIFE.
Freaks me the heck out.
No I’m not thinking about bolting. Just… it’s strange.
I still feel what I’ve always felt for him. I still want for us what I’ve always wanted for us, but to know that now it’s a legally binding thing with an official certificate and everything.
D@mn.
No one told me that I’d have all this to deal with.
How do the couples that have to deal with THIS and learning to live with one another for the first time handle it? I don’t know if I could.
To reiterate: Married life is good, I just have to get used to the title of this chapter.

I think what you're feeling right now is completely normal! I take time to adjust to everything as well - I think that's a sign of a mature person (or at least that's what I tell myself - haha) - someone who is a thinker and someone who doesn't just jump into things head over feet.
DH takes everything in stride while I take ten minutes to contemplate the ramifications of my grocery list. LOL. :)
I'm glad you all are "just you" - as that's how it should be. :) Glad you decided to come empty your brain here. It'll all be great. :)
