What was the criteria you had for your wedding dress before you picked it out? (i.e. strapless, sleeves, lace, poufy, simple, etc.)
My only requirement was that the dress had to be a lace up back! I just love those and part of my wedding night dream was him unlacing it. When I was little, I used to dress one of my barbie dolls up in a lace doily my father had crocheted and I always wanted a dress made entirely of lace...and then I grew up and found out how much lace cost! And also found out I didn't look nearly as good as barbie did in it...must be the disproportionate boobs! :)

Well, my only set criteria was that I wanted something with the long bell sleeves and something a little poufy!!! I had teh hardest time finding my dress...there was just nothing out there that really spoke to me until I saw it in a magazine!!!

I wanted something simple and comfortable. I had to have a little color, not much of a train. I knew I didn't want anything with a lot of beading either. That just isn't me. So for the most part, I knew what I didn't want!! lol

Yeah my criteria for my dress was totally off. I wanted a halter style dress in ivory. I hated strapless dresses! That is, until I tried my dress on. I ended up with a strapless sweet heart bust with red trim and red embroiderey and beads. Wow I really veered off course. However the first dress I tried on was the one.....until I saw the one I got married in! lol

My criteria was fairly simple. First it had to have a straight or square neckline. Secondly it had to be devoid of all lace. (My name is Lacey and my mom always dressed me in lace when I was little, I hate it!) Finally, it had to not make me gag. To be honest I am the first bride in history to dislike wedding dresses. I didn't care what it looked like. I dind't care about the detail.
I put mine on, straight neckline, no lace, no wretching, WINNER!

My criteria was pretty simple, I had to fall in love with it! How it happened to be the 2nd dress I tried on, I don't know.

I went total opposite of what I always thought I wanted. I thought I wanted a staight, sexy, close fitting dress with a removeable train. No pouf what so ever. No bows on my arse.
I ended up with a strapless A-Line dress with some significant pouf and a non-detachable train with buttons all the way down the back (my father thought we had to button all of those...lol) with burgundy trim on the top and bottom and Russian crystals and rose embroidery on the trim (sounds strange, but it's very beautiful).
The only thing that I stayed with was no bows on my butt.

I didn't really have any requirements. I knew I would know it when I saw it and I LOVE the one I found.

When I first started looking at dresses, I said it had to be strapless, simple, poofy and no train and no buttons on the back. After I tried on big ballgowns, like I thought I wanted, I found it they do not look good on me. Then my idea changed to strapless and simple....so I tried on a lot of dress and what I ended up with was pretty much what I wanted. Strapless, simple, short train, asymmetrical waistline and simple beading hanging from the one side of the hip....oh and lace-up back.

That's exactly how Amber picked her dress. We would know it when we found it. :D

Yup...we actually had one picked out but my mom wanted me to make sure that was the one so I went and looked and low and behold there was my dream dress. Thank goodness for my mom!!

That's another one of those times when something was meant to happen. When I look back on it now, we had that other dress and were in the process of purchasing it. I just wanted to go back one more time and make sure that was the one. And then there it was, the most perfect dress for Amber. The one that made her look like a princess was right there all the time. We have been so blessed in this whole wedding process, and I have loved every minute of it! I never did anything like this with my Mother, and I feel like that is her loss! I'm so happy that I am close with my daughter!! It has been so much fun!!

My dress was not a hard decision. I know this is going to sound crazy, but I found it within minutes of walking into the store.
The top is Strapless with a low-cut back. Our theme is Roses, so I had to incorporate that. Down the entire front are roses made out of silver, and the train in the back is also the rose pattern.
We got it on sale for $106.00!!! (after alterations though it was 300.00):w00t:

I wanted strapless, white, with lots of sparkle up top and a small train...I had my heart set on a dress and went to pick it up 1.5 hours away and when I got there my FSIL (MOH #2) handed me another dress...I tried it on and fell in love!

I knew I wanted some color. I wanted more then what I ended up with. I wanted the trim to be purple. I fell in love with a dress I saw on line but once I had money to actualy buy the dress I couldnt find it any where. It was no longer available any where. So I started looking around. I fond one that had pastel colored mini flowers all over it. It sounds wierd but I loved it on. It was actauly a 2 piece dress. I fell in love with it but the price was too much fo rme. So I kept looking. I am not a strapless dress kinda girl but all the dresses I tried on were strapless. Untill this one store. I made and appointment with the owner during a bridal show so I got 10% off. I tol dher my budget and what I was looking for and she took me to those dresses. I found one on the bargain rack. It wasnt alot of color but it had the light purple and light green. I tried it one ( and it was not strapless or sleeveless for that matter ). I loved it. I treid on another and it jsut was me so I tried the first one on again and boguht it. That was my dress. And I loved it.
