How long did you know your FH/DH before you decided to get married? [Archive]

It is hard to say. Seeing Nihcolas and I had a pc/phone relationship for 7 months then apart for a year athen he moved up here to be with me. I some how always knew I was going to marry him. We had talked about it in the 7 months we were together the first itme. And when I called him after the year of being apart one of the first things I said was that I still wanted to marry him and have his baby. He never realy proposed to me. He gave me a promise ring when he was here for Valentines day before he moved up here. But we knew before that that we were going to get married. I just started planning the wedding and before we knew it things were all set to go. I just knew he was the one for me.

I am the same way as Gwen. I knew Jason via the computer since April of 05 (we got engaged in December). However, I didn't talk to him on the phone until July and we didn't meet until August. THEN, because he was too special to me to use as a bounce back relationship, we didn't get together until the end of October. So, technically, we were only dating exclusively for a month and a half before we got engaged. But our engagement was a year and a half long (like Shawna), so we knew each other for quite awhile (and had lived with each other for a year already) before we got married.

Jerry and i started talking online in june of 2005 and met in august of 05. he proposed to me in march of 2006 and we got married in may of 2006. we didn't know each other that long but we talked all the time. It was nothing uncommon for us to talk as long as 2 and 3 hours a night. even after we met and started dating.

Jason and I met and started dating in October of 2001....so it will be 5 years total together 1 month after the wedding...basically in October I will be able to say, "Jason and I have been together for 5 years and have been married for about a month"...LOL...weird!

DH and I started dating in Feb. '99 I think, we moved in together about 6 mos later. Then we bought a house about 2 yrs after that ...

Well, long story short, we were together yearly 6 yrs before we got married. (I knew I loved him and wanted to marry him long before that) We were married 3 days shy of our 6 yr 'dating' anniversary. We just had our 1st wedding anniversary this past April :D

Justin and I met each other in 1998. We were just friends, but I had a crush on him. We didn't start dating until August of 2002 and we got engaged in December 2005. We will be getting married December 2006. So by the time the wedding rolls around we will be together for 4 years and 4 months.

We decided we wanted to get married probably about 6 months into our relationship...but we were way too young....he was going to get me a promise ring but he didn't think I would wear it because I never wore jeweler before. But he ended up finally proposing 3 years and 3 months into our relationship after we were both done with high school and living together for about 3 months.

Me and Joe knew each other for about 2 months, then I got pregnant. He proposed after being together for 7 months before he proposed.

Jonathan and I met in 1999 and started dating. We split in 2002 and he got married in 2003 (like 2 months after his high school graduation). He separated from his wife after being married for less than 6 months and we started dating again. We've been dating for almost 2 years straight and overall almost 7 years.

He proposed at the end of 2005 so it was officially 6 years that we had known eachother/dated...

The first time i met Corey was at a bar and grill on 9-11 we used to always to go. The DJ was dedicationg the next song to him because he was shipping out. The song was God Bless The USA (I still go into tears everytime i hear that song). I didnt get to see him again for about a year and a half then when he came home we started dating and it got pretty serious and he got shipped out again for a year. He came home last july with an engagement ring and we've lived together since then. He will always be my soldier.

I actually met FH's mom first, but I met him at school at the end of my freshman year, like April 2003. We didn't actually start dating until March 2005, and talked somewhat vaguely about maybe getting married, but it didn't become serious talk until April of this year. He proposed on June 13th, 2006, 15 months and one week after we started dating. We'll be married in about 13 months :)

Ryan and I met our first year of college and 3 months later he proposed! But I already knew way before he proposed that he was the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with!!
We ended up being engaged for 5 years tho because we wanted to be out of college before we got married. :D

Nick and I met online in January or February of 1999 but started dating in June of that same year. We talked about marriage but it really became serious in 2004 and he was upset when his sister announced she was pregnant because he had wanted to propose. Then he got cold feet and waited until December of 2005 to propose. By the time we get married, we will be together for 9 years to the day!!!

My Husband and I were dating less than a year wheb he pop the question. We started dating feb-june 2003 We both disagree when we got together. He asked me on Valentines Day 2004, he wanted a long engagement 2-3 years but dec 05 he said june 20 2006 is our date!!! (ended up being june 17th thanks to the 20th being a weekday LOL)

It's kind of long and complicated, but here goes!

We started dating Dec. 97. We were seniors in high school and weren't ready to be engaged, so he gave me a promise ring in April of 98. We moved in together in July. We kind of started talking about getting engaged that December (98), but decided to wait until I was finished with school to get married. That wasn't going to be for another three years, though.

The next fall (1999), he started dropping hints, like stopping off at mall jewelry stores 'just to look'. He proposed Feb. 2000 and we were engaged for 2 years.

Then we broke up for about a year and a half. Long story, but the jist was we refused to take the idea of marriage at all lightly and wanted to be 100% percent sure of our decision. So we decided that it wasn't the right time to get married, considering we had lived together and dated since high school and had never been single, independant adults.

Then, we dated casually for a few months, were exclusive for a few more months and moved in together after being back together for 9 months. We were back together for a little over 2 years when he proposed again.

So, we knew we wanted to get married after dating for about a year and a half, but the timing didn't seem completely right until now. We actually found out after we got back together that neither of us took down our engagement picture in our respective homes.

Well Matthew and I started talking online when I was in 8th grade in October 2000- (he lived about 10 mins away and went to a different school) we met in Jan. 2001, started dating April 28th, 2001, He graduated and went to college in May 2004, He was gone from me for a year, but we didn't break up, then I graduated in 2005 and joined him at school, and then he proposed on June 27th 2006, and we are getting married May 12th, 2007

When we got engaged, we had known each other for 16 years!! :) But we had only dated for 6 1/2 months of that time.

I went to high school with his sister. He was 9, I was 15 when we met. I hated him back then! But after not seeing him for almost 5 years, I saw him at his sister's baby shower in August of 2004. It was love at "First" sight.....the first time I saw him that he was grown-up. We were both instantly attracted to each other and started dating soon after. We will be a couple 2 years when we get married.
